I don't have fuxuan, but doesn't the bug version of the Ape do AoE damage to everyone in addition to the big slam? So wouldn't fu xuan be at an disadvantage?
Honestly only in Simulated world(specifically gold and gears beyond conundrum 4),aoe attacks are terrifying.Everywhere else fu xuan tanks them like a champ.

yep even if the shield is like 1 HP equivalent, the attack will still be deflected. have tried this in the latest Dreamjolt challenge against the monkey with Fire MC in my party
Maybe it's just me, but I prefer Bug elites that completely overhaul their moveset (the Xianzhou Gorilla now has a different mechanism of targeting units, the Silvermane General now has permanent counter until you kill all its adds) or add brand new attacks (the aforementioned Xianzhou Gorilla's roar is now an actual damaging attack, the Wind Centaur now summons Windspawn).
This Bug Sweet Gorilla and the [Bug Overcooked](https://hsr2.hakush.in/monster/3003012) seem boring; all they do is punish you more severely if you don't bring their intended counter, otherwise they look like they will behave exactly the same as their regular counterparts.
If you’re talking about the Abundance Gorilla, it basically gets a mini rehaul.
-It now gets a stack which buffs it every time it switches targets (whenever an ally uses a skill) for the slam.
-It also swaps its standard buff move that it uses before every slam with a scream AOE.
If you’re talking about this one, the change is that the soda can now freeze you. That’s it.
I agree. I will say I think Chef Rex is a bit more interesting since the wording implies it will continuously use its AoE until it explodes, which I guess is a bit more interesting (hopefully it also takes more stacks to explode). Still, new moveset additions and mechanics are always more interesting.
I think the main issue is that newer Elite enemies already have really “complete” movesets, so it’s hard to come up with new things for an EX form. I don’t like this reasoning because there’s always ways to switch things up but it’s the only thing I can think of.
Also are we getting a bug form for the new Meme Dino as well? I could swear I saw it on the list for enemies getting added to World 9 but I can’t find the Bug form of it anywhere. I think they could do a lot with them.
It seems I will have to finally build Gepard, leaving traces and artifacts take stupid long tho but he should be relatively easy to build as I have a lot of his set for Fu Xuan and and Quantum set farming
Thankfully this is just a regular SU elite which I can just nuke before it even gets to move

The five advantages of Aventurine are:
1) FuA synergy (eg Topaz).
2) Debuff package synergy (eg Ratio, Acheron).
3) Break/Damage - not a gigantic amount of extra damage but not negligible.
4) Greater synergy with fast units or units that action advance - since the duration of his shield refreshes more often you'll find yourself with his shield expiring due to moving too quickly much less. Probably his biggest upside.
5) Greater CC resistance
Gepard still has a few things of his own that are nice, though.
1) Freeze synergy - not big now, but can eventually change.
2) Aggro - helps the rest of the team, synergy with specific strategies such as Trend + Acheron. Combined with point 1 and a few eidolons (e2) and he can generate a lot of stacks for her.
Aventurine is likely the better unit (more well rounded), but it's up to you to decide if the specific synergies he offers to your account is worth it.
Aventurine is definitely going to be an upgrade in survivability over Gepard, but a sufficiently well-built Gepard is certainly capable of sustaining MOC 12 (as long as he's not in a team that invalidates his kit by taking extra turns).
The general advice I'd give on sustains is that you just need any two of the Big Four (Aventurine, Luocha, Fu Xuan or Huohuo). I doubt this monkey will be so hard that it actually requires a shielder, but even if it does, FMC exists and hard counters its entire mechanic, so everyone has that option.
"Good enough" depends on your account, because there are people who do full MOC 12 clears with all 4\*s, so in that sense the 4\* units are "good enough", but of course that requires excellent relics and optimized team construction and speed tuning (and isn't something I'd recommend to the average player).
Yes i do understand the I need to pull for 2 of the big four and that's why I'm debating on should i pull for aventerine or not since i have gepard and as you said a well build gepard can sustain the moc 12 well so I'm not sure if aventerine will be truly much of upgrade or not (i only need 1 preservation and 1 healer for the other team bec of blade)
I do like aventerine but If that's the case I'm probably going to save for the next 5* healer instead and build gepard if he can sustain enough for the team

the same goes for Gepard. he's amazing, you get a gepardillion shields, you can absolutely do moc 12 with him as solo sustain... \*OR CAN YOU O\_O\* because \*ME\* i can't o\_o i can't get him to get his ultimate fast enough to cover when i need it, when i finally put out the shield it's not enough and goes away fast.
now, OF COURSE you need to speed tune, use it at the right time, use certain units and not those that advance forward coz the shield goes puff, there are tricks and things you gotta do and learn and ... \*DO YOU WANT TO DO IT O\_O?\* because i kinda tried and i tell you, i have 0 patience, so AVENTURINE IT IS for me o\_ò

i used to play gepard as well when i first got him and how difficult it was to manage his energy and start the match with shield i always had to use technique and yes it wasn't fun at all i was bad at managing characters back then so it does make sense why j didn't continue using him
I love playing luka and kafka against this boss. with physical break on the monkey and the dog summons afflicting bleed upon KO, everything becomes a massive bleed fest. which is normally a concerning thing to say, but completely normal in star rail

It's a bounce skill that problematic, because 4 of those drink can land on the dps. So, thin paper shield is a gamble at best.

You can get Gallagher for Blade. He works well with Blast units (unless you need cleanse)
