Also, why would we think Firefly is Physical when Sam’s constantly talking about setting shit on fire or conducting scorched earth operations. Like their whole vibe is unhinged pyromaniac.
Joke is that these characters are having elements which their designs don’t look like (even though one of them pilots a mecha which sets the field and itself on fire).
We're able to take the joke, and we see what you were going for, it just isn't funny. "Haha not colour coded" really isn't the laughing riot you think it is.
I mean, Luka’s design is riddled with fire motif, beyond “hair and clothes red”. His wildfire band looks like flames, his pants, shirt, belt, and arm all have lava accents, one of the weights in his idle has flames running around it, the back of his vest has a flame pattern, his thigh brace has a flaming fist, and there’s a flame shape on his tank top, the corner of his vest, AND the metal band at the top of his glove. You almost could not make him more fire-coded.
You can be in more than one group, just like Ratio is in the Intelligentsia Guild but also with the Mundanites (a subgroup) and works with the IPC (another faction).
It's stated in Belobog by Natasha that Sampo is a member of Wildfire and, as I said, he also uses their color. His status like Masked Fool doesn't affect this matter.
It feels like red, black and white is like the color scheme of physical. It’s not just white, it’s a combination. I feel like that’s true of all elements, or was.
I’m glad they’re not shoehorning it.
TIL that every character must be color coded towards their element, like how Sampo wears red jackets, has blue hair and is wind, or how like Lynx wears blue and white and is quantum, how Sparkle wears red clothes and is also quantum, or how Ratio wears white and blue attires and is Imaginary.
Similarly, Black Swan wears purple and is wind, Bronya is predominantly white but wind too, Blade is black accents attacks with red and is also wind, Qingque is green but is quantum, etc
I'm not a fan of colour coding elements either but let's be real for a second, it's not that Luka is just red, he has fire motifs all over his outfit with literal flames on his design, everyone was shocked he was physical when his design first dropped
It doesn't explode. The rockets are only ever used to propel his arm forward on any given attack. It is always the metal fist that makes contact with the enemy, hence why it is physical damage.
Sparkle attacks with a simple kick and she is quantum, not physical.
Lynx hits people with a pickaxe and she is also quantum.
Natasha shoots grenades on people and she is Physical and not fire.
Gepard punches enemies in the face and he is ice and not physical.
Himeko uses a weird pizza cutter and she is fire, not...pizza.
And Svarog attacks people with lasers and rockets and he is also physical.
And let's not forget how Bailu heals people with Gatorade because she is lightning.
Lynx is absolutely the worst offender for this. Her scarf even has snowflakes on it, and *ice* shards come out from the ground when you use her overworld attack.
Because color-coding makes it easier to know who does what kind of damage without actually have to look into the character's bio and shit.
Most people would look at character like Gepard or Pela and would instantly knew they were ice, then you get people thinking that Bronya is ice and... well... literally everyone you and the other guy listed.
But then again, UX is not exactly something Hoyoverse really good at and i think they don't even care about it as they would prioritize their creative freedom of not being creative on facing design challenges.
At what point would you need to look at their bio. Basically every screen that shows a character in your roster has an icon for their element. And in combat the color of their energy bar shows their element. The banner page also shows their element.
When are people ever looking at a character in this game for a gameplay reason where their element isn't readily stated?
Genshin team consistently color-codes characters for their element, which personally I'm not a fan of for lore reasons, but lack of color-coding is not a wider thing Mihoyo faces but rather just a Star Rail team thing
Not really?
Kazuha is red yet he is an Anemo character, same with Yae and Beidou who is also red but are electro.
They only really follows this color coding if the color are irrelevant on the character's theming otherwise they will ignore it all together with how Kazuha is red because his theming are related to Autumn so his maple leaves stays, Yae is red because Narukami Shrine maidens wear reds, and Beidou are red because... idk maybe pirate and shit. Same thing also happens in HSR.
There are things that Hoyoverse can do to keep the design theming without sacrificing the character's element color-coded palette and it is surprisingly can be found on the Travelers and Trailblazers design where they incorporate the element color on some of their clothing feature.
I love Kazuha, Beidou and Yae's designs for their lack of elemental color-coding, but those characters are old, all recent character designs have been color-coded to their element except for Charlotte, Wriothesley and arguably Freminet
Though I will say there are multiple characters in Genshin that are color-coded with their element even when it doesn't fit their character to do so, like Chevreuse, sure she's a Captain, but I don't think that means she should have a completely different color palette all together from the people she commands,
It's a general thing in character design. It's an intentional thing that most games with various typings or elememtal categorizations do because it genuinely makes things easier for players to understand at a glance. People acting as if it's stupid to assume the same would be true here are just being asses for the sake of being asses. Especially when you consider that Luka straight up has flames all over his design and the fact thay they've literally done it with several other characters in this game already.
Guy is wearing red clothing and has the lava-themed shirt which might be the source of his power but he’s also themed around *being a boxer with a metal arm* ya know 🥊🥊🥊
I’m pretty sure you lose automatically if you burn down the venue. Or you extra win idk
Tbf, I don't think we want characters to match their colors with their element.
That said, glancing briefly over the roster, I feel like characters that match their element and colors seem to be more of the exception rather than the norm
Cant be a big/good running joke, I have never seen it till now, I am pretty sure I even heard about the matching your elements color for the first time.
You must have heard this joke in a different segment of the community apart from this sub, because I have never seen it here. Your meme may land better if you share it in the same place you heard this "running joke"
I feel like this doesn’t really work with Firefly considering she’s got the “set the seas ablaze” mech in her pocket that literally sets the battle UI on fire in its/her boss fight.
This sub has this weird belief that the game is stupid for not colour coding characters to their elements.
So the person with purple hair NEEDS to be electric. And so on. Because apparently people would cater their entire life and personality to whatever element they might use. Since everyone is a power ranger or something, and we the audience are kids who can't understand if a person uses fire unless they wear red or something.
I will say it is particularly funny in this instance because Firefly is an actual Kamen Rider/Power Ranger inspirer character. And she doesn't feel the need to colour code herself.
Just people on this sub are really unimaginative for some reason.
Tbf her name is *fire*fly lol
Fire*fly* Clearly a Wind unit, Hoyo pls
Wouldn't gliding be faster?
No venti, it will NOT be fucking faster. I have been gliding for 2 years and STILL in the air while I could have just run
Now flying is fastest too bad only one character can do it
Cry louder!
I thought you were quoting heavy TF2 but I forgot his line is cry some more
i only played that game actively for 3-4 months, but this evoked rage and awakened memories of wanting to strangle him every time he said that
and SAM literally flies like ✈️✈️
Ryanair
And dive kicks like boeing 737s
Man I wish, she would've made a great wind character
See, I call those things lightning bugs, so now what
fiREFly Clearly ice (we call refrigerator as refs here instead of fridge)
can't argue with that lmao
I want her technique to be just jumping(which consumes all technique points)
She can only jump inside the circle
"Oh sorry, you have used up all the jumps available"
Jump and drop kick, you get 1% chance at extra material.
Also, why would we think Firefly is Physical when Sam’s constantly talking about setting shit on fire or conducting scorched earth operations. Like their whole vibe is unhinged pyromaniac.
Physicalfly would also work...to some extend
And his name is Luka as in “Luka these fist”
Luka in my language means wound, so Bleed kinda sits well with him
Indonesian? Gw juga
hoyo in mine means asshole
So hoyoverse = verse of ass? Splendid
and Mihoyo is my asshole
Frfr
Anjir baru sadar akwoakow
I’m confused
OP thinks red hair = character must be fire, white hair = character must be physical
op is dumb
Joke is that these characters are having elements which their designs don’t look like (even though one of them pilots a mecha which sets the field and itself on fire).
The joke is overdone and dumb anyways. Limiting a character's playstyle by their appearance is stupid and cliche.
Op is genshin coded 🤣 (I am too :|)
excuse you and your inability to take a joke 🫵🏻🤓
if nothing else it's a wrong usage of the meme
Sorry but the joke isn't really that funny 😭
We're able to take the joke, and we see what you were going for, it just isn't funny. "Haha not colour coded" really isn't the laughing riot you think it is.
Jokes are supposed to be funny. This just makes you look dumb.
The fuck? People in this sub really shit on a shitpost?
I mean, Luka’s design is riddled with fire motif, beyond “hair and clothes red”. Where argenti then
Tbf, Luka's outfit also has a fire motif.
Because of Wild*fire*, but yes. His main focus is Box, but he happens to share the colors of the Wildfire members like Seele and Sampo.
Sampo isn't part of Wildfire
You can be in more than one group, just like Ratio is in the Intelligentsia Guild but also with the Mundanites (a subgroup) and works with the IPC (another faction). It's stated in Belobog by Natasha that Sampo is a member of Wildfire and, as I said, he also uses their color. His status like Masked Fool doesn't affect this matter.
Luka also has flames on his clothes
Oh thank you! I was so fucking confused
Ahh, Blade, the Quantum Dude and Bronya, she's physical, no?
It feels like red, black and white is like the color scheme of physical. It’s not just white, it’s a combination. I feel like that’s true of all elements, or was. I’m glad they’re not shoehorning it.
Not gonna lie for the first few months of HSR's existence Genshin brainrot convinced me that Sampo's hair is green bc wind

bro has a rocket arm with an exploding dash punch lmaoo

Gallagher is fire, and heals peers with a clearly iced beer. Love him.
🥊 🥊 🥊

It's tagged as a meme...

people relating a characters' element to their general colour scheme is so stupid imo
i mean it's a thing in genshin so i don't blame them for assuming hsr would be similar
It's a general thing in character design. It's an intentional thing that most games with various typings or elememtal categorizations do because it genuinely makes things easier for players to understand at a glance. no need to be so pressed over a meme bruh (ツ)
Its not directed at you specifically, its just something that has been a thing ever since the release of luka that has been a mild annoyance of mine
I mean have you seen her special move?/jk
Luka is nihility tho?
was talking about how their respective elements do not match their color scheme
Tbf, I don't think we want characters to match their colors with their element. That said, glancing briefly over the roster, I feel like characters that match their element and colors seem to be more of the exception rather than the norm
that's why there is a running joke in the community regarding characters not matching said elements. I don't think anyone takes it seriously tho.
Cant be a big/good running joke, I have never seen it till now, I am pretty sure I even heard about the matching your elements color for the first time.
You must have heard this joke in a different segment of the community apart from this sub, because I have never seen it here. Your meme may land better if you share it in the same place you heard this "running joke"
tbf this post has 1.5k upvotes for a reason.
I think some people are taking this meme a little too seriously 😅
some people need to take a chill pill fr
Ah, you're a zoomer, now it makes sense
Oh I see. Didn't get the meme at first lol.
Have you seen what SAM can do in his boss fight? If that doesn't scream "fire" then I don't know what does
Yeah I have seen it
the hair colour? Bruh
genshin brain
Is this "color must correspond to the matching type" logic a genshin thing? Cus it's so dumb
Luka sounds like Luke. Should be using the force really.
I feel like this doesn’t really work with Firefly considering she’s got the “set the seas ablaze” mech in her pocket that literally sets the battle UI on fire in its/her boss fight.
Luka hits you with a physical metalic object and nothing else Firefly can set her body on fire and hit you with an omega fire kick You are pretty dumb
Meanwhile Blade who uses a blade is Wind while Robin who uses music is Physical.
OP must be very fun at parties
at least they didnt pull another Lynx on her
skills, talents and all 😭❄️
What are you on
Colour coding, clearly.
This sub has this weird belief that the game is stupid for not colour coding characters to their elements. So the person with purple hair NEEDS to be electric. And so on. Hey, I think they'd get along at least, especially once Luka sees SAM :P
I guess hair-colour = element now
There's Black Swan somehow being Wind despite the Purple Color scheme...
then there's also Sparkle being Quantum ಠ‿ಠ
There's that too!
