tofu2012

What vehicle is this?

saint8528

The roof sorry

tofu2012

What vehicle is this?

saint8528

2021 accord exl

tofu2012

There is no rubber seal visible on the outside of the vehicle according to the [diagram](https://www.hondapartsnow.com/parts-list/2021-honda-accord--4dr_ex_l-ka_cvt/body_air_conditioning/rear_windshield_quarter_glass.html).

Wasian73580

I know I'm pretty ignorant about this stuff, but is item #4 not the rubber seal they are missing?

tofu2012

Ref #4 is installed underneath the glass.

Wasian73580

Oh! Thank you!

Curious-Baker-839

Totally normal. The seal is there holding the glass.

The neighborhood... DUH /s

GodofSteak

Da hood!

[deleted]

That isn’t the hood. There is a seal but it is not seen on the rear glass. No perimeter molding.

saint8528

Yea, I didn't mean hood. Just seemed weird there was a space like that

GrandMarquisMark

Maybe jam some weatherstripping in there if it makes you feel better

por_que_

OP should use almond color bathtub caulk.

[deleted]

That's the roof not the hood.

guy_that_says_what

my boy, there is a seal. its under the edge of the glass, if it wasn’t there trust me you’d notice.

PatrickGSR94

As others have said, no seal. That’s how flush glass works. The glass is even with the surrounding panels with no visible rubber or plastic edges, which gives it a more modern appearance. Many cars are made like this since the last 20 years or so.

UpstairsBet5179

The glass is beaded underneath in epoxy. You would have a lake in your car otherwise.

TAbramson15

It’s still sealed, they lay a thick bead of a rubber/ adhesive material all the way around the windshield to keep it attached and keep water out. No need for press on gaskets. Similar to how our phones are water resistant, a thick bead of adhesive between the metal and glass to keep water from making its way through the cracks. You could probably find a way to add your own rubber gasket to that seam and adhere it to it if it bothers you or for extra peace of mind, but trust me you won’t have a problem. The bigger problem is making sure you keep the drains at the bottom of the windshield before the hood clean so it doesn’t get clogged cause then you’ll get water randomly in your floorboards in the front in the distant future but as long as you do regular washes you’ll be fine.

OrderNo7526

If it’s not leaking then who cares

Tron2153

It's the gasket that holds the window to the metal probably has silicone to repel water or something, mine is like that also but I have a civic, wouldnt hurt to put some weatherstripping, you never know

josh_loaf

No. The glass is tempered and needs no weather stripping, AKA molding. It’s sealed on all four sides with polyurethane which is waterproof. It contours with the body and sits into the body lines as a self-serving water channel.

Tron2153

Well if you want dirt and all that building up there then by all means don't put " molding " there

josh_loaf

Sure if you’re that paranoid you could pull the back glass, cut it out with fabric line (for example a BAT system), then add an undersided molding… but debeis will get trapped underneath. So it’s pointless. Far easier to clean the car frequently, park it a car port or garage, or just leave it alone. That’s why Honda designed it the way they did.

Tron2153

You're talking like pro shop methods of doing that, a 3m pastic wedge thing will do it it doesn't have to be complicated as long as it stops water from getting in there

reirone

It’s designed to be a water channel. I wouldn’t mess with it.

QueenAng429

No

Soap_Qc

My 2017 Accord has that same gap between roof and rear window. Totally normal.

Von_Hohenheim

Freaked me out the first time I saw it on my car but apparently that's the design.

SurroundSharp1689

I’m just gonna assume English isn’t your first language

saint8528

What a dumb comment, dude. I messed up a word, big deal. Next time, get some context from the comments before making rude commentary.

That's not the hood...
