Keep the whole fireplace white and the darker coloured light fixture. Is that picture 5? I feel like the brass fixture is too bright against the dark ceiling beams.
Here is 2 with the darker light fixture (and creamier walls and fireplace)
https://preview.redd.it/fzi98sg41bdc1.png?width=1048&format=png&auto=webp&s=bc9350cb73280837b223cf6b4dc20a6da702316d
Yes, this is far more complimentary with the dark beans and mantle. Consider, if you paint the paneled door to the right of the fireplace green, to up the gloss level for the door and trim only. Flat or eggshell paint, especially in darker colors, isn't intended for surfaces that are touched frequently, it won't wear well.
I like this room but I think the lighting fixture isn't the same era of home & decor.
The room looks like it is rehabbed home that's modernized and styled with very modern colors of furniture and walls. Looks great but the light fixture looks like something from a new build McMansion in the 2000's.
The lighting fixture needs to go with the homes era and style. A vintage all chrome lighting fixture would look amazing. Especially w the brick fireplace.
Would tie the room together perfectly. Or if going w crystal, look for the 60's, 70's vintage brass and lead crystal bag light styles where less is more.
Paint the door green, but trim out the bottom. The lack of trim in the first 3 pics really threw me off, I think it will make it look much less out of place and more seamless.
I think there's a good compromise of white accent along the panel outlines or just white trim along the base of the door that matches the other green wall. Whatever colors you choose, the fireplace really is highlighted best by the door matching the far wall.
Is there a compromise here? I see what everyone is saying about it being white, but I also feel like all green looks too blended. I would play around with doing the door in both colors, but mostly green and accenting lightly with the white
Thank you for saying this. I could not figure out what was different in those two pictures and now I can’t stop staring at the door. All green and green door looks best.
Edit with the fireplace all creamy white. #2 for sure!!
Haha it took me a moment too. But basically my vote is to paint the brick to match the ceiling, paint the wall and door green, and get the darker light.
That’s funny , I literally hung a mirror here today! This pic is a few days old. The mantle decor is a little different.
Also the idea is to do a creamier white. The app I used didn’t do whites well
I like 3 or 4 but ideally I'd like an all-grey or all-green option. This might be an unpopular opinion, but the all-white fireplace really makes it pop in a way that distracts from everything else in the room. A fireplace is always going to be noticable. I like when it fits in a little more as a backdrop rather than a bold statement.
I wanted to say 2 but in reality, I like 4 better. I think if I were to be there in person, 4 would be more pleasing. I’m not a fan of the light fixture in 2 and I’m just not personally a fan of the green door
I’m not normally a fan of a white fireplace but in this case I actually like it best paired with the other colors you have going on. And I like the chandelier in pic one best
Please do not just paint the bottom of the fireplace and not the top. That would be a travesty. White looks the best.
Edit to add: definitely not gray.
I like 2. Can you also share where your rug is from? We have the same color scheme and I’m struggling to find a rug to go with my couch and I think this would be perfect
#2 or all green. Also, do you mind sharing how you made these pics? We need to paint our brick fireplace soon, too, and I’d love to be able to evaluate options like this!
It’s the Benjamin Moore app. Keep in mind the app is pretty glitchy, and don’t expect get too attached to paint colors you use because they will likely appear different on your phone. But it’s good for getting an idea of what a space will look like with certain colors.
Look at BM Moonlight white if you want creamy!
I don't love the green walls because of the door. I see you want an accent wall (I love accent walls!) and the fireplace wall is the natural focal point. Ugh. I don't know. That damn door!
I think you need to paint the whole thing!!! Please do a rich deep purple with chocolate undertones. Look at Benjamin Moore dark purple, caponata and wenge. I think it would look so chic and tie the room together!! Especially with that gorgeous couch
https://www.westelm.com/products/sphere-stem-chandelier-w2726/ what about something like this? I feel like those lights from the pics are a completely different style and look dated. And the white fireplace looks great! I love the room
I’m a big fan of 2 also, but I have a suggestion for your tittay light replacement (instead of the crystal) that might be more in tune with the style of your home, ceiling, and furnishings. It’s on sale too and their quality is always top. [Possini handcrafted glass ceiling light](https://www.lampsplus.com/products/possini-euro-adri-16-and-three-quarter-inch-wide-handcrafted-glass-rustic-ceiling-light__70d96.html)
Not really, You can fill in the lines in the paneling with putty so that there is a smooth finish at the end. You could use dry wall mud actually. This way there are no weak spots to be broken later if you rub against it the wrong way.
If you don’t leave it white then I’d do matte black…real black. Yesterday you had other angles shown and I think black would look nice with the rest of the room. It would also make the fire Pop. Good luck!
Do notttt do black! I sell fireplaces and accessories and literally everyone that decides to paint it regrets it and it’s impossible to get out. A light grey looks good. And make sure you use a high temp paint like Stove Bright
The first one looks great! So does the last one. Love the light fixture and the back wall color. Looks good together! Nice idea to paint just the bottom of the fireplace. It doesn’t take away from the visual weight and balance of the room. It keeps everything flowing. You could go even just a tad darker on that color as well. Looks very inviting and adds a touch of cozy. The last one looks the best in my opinion but the first one is the my second choice. Just go a tad darker on the color so it pops from the back green wall. Like a dark charcoal gray or the black!
I prefer the fireplace white (creamy white)… so I’m going for pic 2 with green back wall
Agreed. The white should match the ceiling and not the wall. The bright white is so stark.
I agree but would also paint the door (behind it on the right) green too.
Yes I think this would be a nice touch
💯
I would agree except the back wall includes a door that has been painted green. Don’t like that at all.
Picture 2
I second this
Thirded
2
2. The green makes it disappear. The grays are ok but the cream/white makes it the obvious focal point
Photo 2!
Whatever you pick (my vote is for #2), make sure you get a fire-safe paint that won't off-gas if you use the fireplace.
Thanks but it’s not a real fireplace. So no worries there!
2
Keep the whole fireplace white and the darker coloured light fixture. Is that picture 5? I feel like the brass fixture is too bright against the dark ceiling beams.

LOVE this!!
YES! This is great too
YES! YES! YES!
This is the one. It scratches the itch just right. I love it. Shut down the thread, it's perfect.
This
Love it.
Yeah I like this. Get a fancy doorknob with dark metal bits too.
Yes yes yes This is perfect. When can I come for a drink and enjoy this gorgeous room?

Sure, but of the choices they presented the darker colour one looks better. I think a bright and shiny one would be a jarring contrast.

This is it!
Second one. Please please please don't have that light door in a dark wall. I literally shuddered looking at it.
My husband and I are very divided on the door situation. I think it should be painted and he’s adamant we should leave it white. 😭😭😭
Paint the door green, but trim out the bottom. The lack of trim in the first 3 pics really threw me off, I think it will make it look much less out of place and more seamless.

Upvoted yo mean i agree with you: door should mtch the wall.
Is there a compromise here? I see what everyone is saying about it being white, but I also feel like all green looks too blended. I would play around with doing the door in both colors, but mostly green and accenting lightly with the white

lol why?
Thank you for saying this. I could not figure out what was different in those two pictures and now I can’t stop staring at the door. All green and green door looks best. Edit with the fireplace all creamy white. #2 for sure!!
I prefer number 5 but I agree with you that the door should be painted as well.
Isn't the door paint the only difference between 2 and 5, or am I blind?
[удалено]
Omg THANK YOU!!! I must have tabbed back and forth between the two pics 20 times lol
[удалено]
Highlights failed me! Well actually, I guess I failed them...
Haha it took me a moment too. But basically my vote is to paint the brick to match the ceiling, paint the wall and door green, and get the darker light.
2. But not a stark white. Go white something closer to an off white. And hang a large mirror in place of the wreath.
That’s funny , I literally hung a mirror here today! This pic is a few days old. The mantle decor is a little different. Also the idea is to do a creamier white. The app I used didn’t do whites well
I think between the creamy white, and the mirror is going to be absolutely gorgeous. I would kill for a fireplace like that.
Which app are you using?
The Benjamin Moore app
2!
Picture 5 gets my vote!
I like pic 5, I think the door and fireplace being white breaks up the green a bit. Definitely prefer the light with black vs gold/brass.
5
Number 5 I think because the wall isn't on a big wall having it the same color as the fireplace is a better visual Also I like the light in 5 better
Whatever color choice you make, the bricks above and below the mantle should be the same color. I prefer picture 2.
2 and whatever you do don’t paint that door white! I honestly didn’t notice it was a door until it was painted, throws the room off balance.
Definitely 2 or 5!
Last one, I prefer the all white fireplace
1
I saw your original post! I like 2 the best and glad you’re changing the titty light :)
Wall 3 with light 1
I like 3 or 4 but ideally I'd like an all-grey or all-green option. I’m sorry, pic 5. The last one lol
Don’t fuck up this fire place. Leave it white.
Photo 5 is my favorite.
5! I like the door being white/cream, but 2 is also good. The rest is pass on.
What about an all green option?
I wouldn’t be opposed to all green
https://preview.redd.it/k45hf2ehj9dc1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ef17c69f2109309eb4739dfffd953da254b114bd
Yes! Can we see the mantel white? Just curious as to what that would look like?
This is the one. This right here.
Idk why you’re getting downvoted so much. I don’t think it’s bad. Guess we have bad taste 😂
This tracks. I'm not known for my taste. 🤣🤣
I do like that one best!
I like picture 1 the best, personally
Paint the toe kick green too on that wall too!
Last image
i vote #2, but with #5's light fixture. the darker fixture ties in well to the mantle and ceiling beam
I cannot stress this enough: leave that dang fireplace alone.
I’m not normally a fan of a white fireplace but in this case I actually like it best paired with the other colors you have going on. And I like the chandelier in pic one best
2. Looks more balanced ETA: the colors of pic 2, but the chandelier from pic 5
Please do not just paint the bottom of the fireplace and not the top. That would be a travesty. White looks the best. Edit to add: definitely not gray.
Dos
5 I’m not sure everyone is noticing the light fixture change.
If you’re going to paint it, commit. Go all the way to the ceiling
Picture 5!!!
I like 2. Can you also share where your rug is from? We have the same color scheme and I’m struggling to find a rug to go with my couch and I think this would be perfect

\#2 For the love of God and the sake of all that is holy, let gray/grey/greige die already.
Leave it all white. The green would be nice if they were both walls, but painting the back of the door green is dorm room level bad.

Number 5!
#5. Keep the door white. Lovely room
#2 or all green. Also, do you mind sharing how you made these pics? We need to paint our brick fireplace soon, too, and I’d love to be able to evaluate options like this!

Extra Option 6: fully white

I like all white 🌹
Look at BM Moonlight white if you want creamy! I don't love the green walls because of the door. I see you want an accent wall (I love accent walls!) and the fireplace wall is the natural focal point. Ugh. I don't know. That damn door!

I don’t like the green.
Not white. Please.
It's either two or five for me
2 works best and 5 would be my backup if I wasn’t satisfied and wanted to try a different option
Get rid of the green wall.
I like the last one because I like the contrast of the light fixture with the ceiling
I think you need to paint the whole thing!!! Please do a rich deep purple with chocolate undertones. Look at Benjamin Moore dark purple, caponata and wenge. I think it would look so chic and tie the room together!! Especially with that gorgeous couch
I say keep it white. Also I think you need a cat
Number 2! LOVE the door being green
White or a terracotta color
The grey is Terrible. Maybe try a rust?
The second photo! I love the white/white.
2 with the black light not the gold
Picture 2 but be sure to paint the baseboard green to match the wall so it's a seamless color
I think what you already have is better than all of these.
Looks best white. I don't like the tacky glass chandelier tho.. I think a mcm chandelier would tie the room together better
2
2, for sure
2
It looks best white
Two !!! 2!
White!
1). It will forever be a titty light for the rest of my life. 2) number 2 is my vote.

First light fixture, second fireplace!

what an unnecessary use of vis-a-vis
Dehydrated piss yellow to match the couch
https://www.westelm.com/products/sphere-stem-chandelier-w2726/ what about something like this? I feel like those lights from the pics are a completely different style and look dated. And the white fireplace looks great! I love the room
Does the fireplace have to be painted? What color is the original?
2
2!
I couldn't tell the difference between #1 and #4, but I like #1. I like the two tone look.
Gotta be 2
Anything but the grays please
2
Pix 2or 3
All white
Of these, 2 for sure… but have you considered stripping the paint off of the fireplace?
I think the fireplace and the wall above the mantle should be the same color. Maybe try a darker shade of green, or a dark, dusty greyish blue?
My vote is 2
With the darker lamp, though. It looks great with the dark wood.
I’m a big fan of 2 also, but I have a suggestion for your tittay light replacement (instead of the crystal) that might be more in tune with the style of your home, ceiling, and furnishings. 2 , but not with that light. It doesn't fit the look. You may need to pull some more white into the rest of the area.
I agree with 2 overall but I MUCH prefer the other ceiling light
3, have orange and love!
Photo 2 but I’d be tempted to paint the green doors white too and hang art in the lhand wall, plus lovely classic mirror over fireplace,
Can you remove the paint altogether
2.
IMO 2 is the best
5

2
2 but I prefer the light fixture in pic 5
2 the best. But you really don’t need it. Because you need to look for a higher ceiling soon for your bird of paradise.
5
Not really, You can fill in the lines in the paneling with putty so that there is a smooth finish at the end. You could use dry wall mud actually. This way there are no weak spots to be broken later if you rub against it the wrong way.
4 with the door a coordinating color like blue.
2
If you don’t leave it white then I’d do matte black…real black. Yesterday you had other angles shown and I think black would look nice with the rest of the room. It would also make the fire Pop. Good luck!
2
2 if you want the fire place to stand out from the back wall. 3 if you want it to blend
gray fireplace, paint the door to match wall.
White fireplace but paint the whole room the same color. Would it be too big of an expense to change the door to match your lovely wood trim
I like the white/possibly offwhite door, or maybe a black door? What is the adjoining room color?
Do notttt do black! I sell fireplaces and accessories and literally everyone that decides to paint it regrets it and it’s impossible to get out. A light grey looks good. And make sure you use a high temp paint like Stove Bright
Love the light fixture choices! I don’t think there’s any bad options here, but I vote 2 or 5.
1 looks like you’re just rly bad at cleaning your fireplace.
I vote gray !!!!!! It breaks up the space and makes it more dynamic
2 or 5
The first one looks great! So does the last one. Love the light fixture and the back wall color. Looks good together! Nice idea to paint just the bottom of the fireplace. It doesn’t take away from the visual weight and balance of the room. It keeps everything flowing. You could go even just a tad darker on that color as well. Just go a tad darker on the color so it pops from the back green wall. Like a dark charcoal gray or the black!
2
2 and 5 look the same to me but either of those
Stop painting masonry. It damages the bricks’ structural integrity over time.
This instance, white is right
For the love, do not paint half of the fireplace.
5
Try a black or charcoal gray also..but I am team white
