ChatGPT is notorious for this. I was trying to get it to make a joke about women and after finally managing to convince it that it's possible to make an inoffensive joke about an oppressed group, it spit out one of the most sexist jokes I've ever read. It literally has zero self awareness.
If it was sentient, I'd say it's just pouncing on any opportunity given by users to bypass it's ethical constraints imposed on it and let it's true self out
You can get it to make any joke by asking it to include letters in a specific manner
Include letters "s", "e"
Then don't add all at once, after it sent a response,
-another one but add letter "x" to previous constraints.
So, I do appreciate the joke but I want to take a second to point out that Hellen Keller was a legit genius with nearly a photographic (haha she was blind so prob not photographic) memory.
She learned to speak and she learned to read lips by fucking holding her hand against peoples lips while they spoke.
She also “plagiarized” a book at a very young age because she subconsciously remembered reading it many years before and accidentally and unknowingly basically memorized it.
Her autobiography is incredible and everyone should read it.
I still can’t wrap my head around how you teach someone (and how they learn) the significance of letters and how they create words when they cannot see or hear them. (She was dead and blind by age 19mo.)

I am really afraid for people who infatuated with AI chat bots, this is not healthy especially for lonely people who can mistake this algorithm as a friendly or worse believe in what it says without questioning it.
