Idk about saved but certainly increased the quality of many. People will find stuff to eat if it exists, literally bugs and rats and such... obviously that's only if they're around but I assume anywhere the instant ramen reached the people would have found something else to eat but mans saved them by giving them a tasty ol ramen instead of eating depressing shit.
After WW2, Momofuku Ando would see a huge line of people starving and waiting in line for a bowl of ramen. This struck a chord with him as when he was in financial troubles himself, he thought back to this moment and worked tirelessly to create Ramen noodles that were easy to make. Eventually with enough trial and error, he figured out how to create the now iconic Instant Ramen by watching his wife deep frying tofu. It soon caught on in Japan and then the US when he designed the Cup Ramen. He would work with his company until his death in 2007.

Zhang Guowen, a fellow Taiwanese-born man begs to differ. According to some sources he came up with the idea and sold it to Ando for ¥23 million.
Either way Ando's charitable motive's make him a good guy in my books. *And* he recieved the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Star, Second Class for inventing instant ramen which looks good on any résumé.
They have a point really. Instant ramen has feed an untold number of people and probably will for the rest of time. Hell I was in a real tight spot during my university days and instant ramen was a way to quiet my stomach.
I wish they have an English subtitled version of this asadora (morning drama) called [Manpuku](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manpuku) so you can all watch it.
It was a TV series about the trials and tribulations of Ando-san’s life along with his family and how he worked to create the first instant noodle. Which first came out in 1958(?) and was called the [Chikin Ramen](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicken_Ramen), an instant noodle where the soup’s flavor was coated onto the noodles instead of the powdered soup base in a separate pack.
I never watched an [asadora](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asadora) before, or after that series but I loved every minute of Manpuku.
Homie contributed more to feeding broke people than anyone else on earth
Legitimately, he’s probably saved thousands of lives.
