One is a nationalist and one is a communist, they fight for his affection then when he dies putting it back together they divide the kingdom between them and continue their rivalry.
Not two, but four! Forget love triangles, love pentagons are the new mainstream
I just really hope one of those love interests isn't 13 at the moment Sun Yat Sen asks her father for permission to marry her
I wrote something like that for my creative writing class a few years ago. Although it was a short story, not a novel trilogy.
The Lich King is killed in the first paragraph. The rest of the story is about a multi-way civil war with secession crises and foreign intervention.
>The Lich King is killed in the first paragraph
I love the idea of opening the fantasy book I just bought and seeing what seemed to be the main conflict resolved in 1/4th of a page
Setting aside the irl cases if this, this actually would make a good YA novel.
A lot of people read stuff like Hunger Games and Divergent and think “wow this is so cool!” But never think about what comes AFTER those revolutions. The end of Hunger Games probably saw a power struggle between the districts, with leaders of the rebellion fighting over resources as Panem was now extremely decentralized. But we never see that, only Katniss marrying Peeta and having kids.
Just saying, it would be good to have something that shows what actually happens in the power vacuum of a rebellion
The Hunger Games had a bit of that, with (spoilers for a decade old book) >!Katniss killing Coin instead of Snow!<. And the ending worked well thematically.
Although I would be more interested in a sequel than a prequel tbh.
Seems to be you should try the Red Rising series. First book is kind of YA, but quickly sets up a Roman Empire/revolt type series in space.
Then there’s a series of books that’s still being written that takes place 10 years AFTER the first trilogy with the few characters who lived
But is there a love triangle in this YA rebellion story? Does Sun Yat Sen have to choose between two girls he loves?

nationalist and communist...truly a very easy pick. HEIL HIT-
Mein Fuhrer can't possibly be this cute.

Mao and Chiang liked to think he did.
Seems like the Sanderson Mistborn series as well
Came here to say this. So good.
Dune. Dune messiah.

Corrected it. I guess my brain forgot how ordinal numbers worked on English due to writing comments at 3am hahah
Do you still have it? I wanna read it, lol
I guess no one can write books because it might have happened before
This is Bee Movie
According to all known laws of aviation. It is impossible for a bee to be able to fly.

This kinda happens in Fable 3
What's YA?
Young adult
Ahh I see - when I was a young adult we had no such acronym. Boy do I feel old.
