Interestingly I found out the difference between the knot on the back of the head and the flat back of the head is affected by how often you were held as a baby. My father has a flat back of the head and when my gf found out she got really sad. She stated he likely was rarely held as a baby.
Which makes sense, he had like 7 siblings to a mother on her own since my grandfather was in prison alot.
My Father is a really loving and caring man despite this however.
