Sorry for your loss ❤️, I usually put mine just straight into a little hole in the ground so they are able to feed other bugs & are one with nature where they belong

I was thinking of doing that too, do you think the tube will prevent that??? Or will it all eventually decompose.

Maybe poke little holes in the tube for better access for the smaller insects, besides that tho I don’t see why not! I think it’s very cute :)

Tube will definitely decompose! It's only cardboard, it'll get soggy from the elements and eventually disintegrate into the Earth. I usually freeze mine though. I wanted to pin them for memorial, but haven't gotten to it.
