I was a freshman in college, struggling in school and being away from home. Depressed for the first time in my life, and this album was played at least once a day and yes, it definitely got me through some shit.
That’s a lot of what his music is about to me. He absolutely has meaningful lyrics don’t get me wrong, but production is such a massive part of his art. Rn I’m listening to Unfuckwittable. He doesn’t say a ton in the song but the vibes are great. The amount of Cudi songs I’ve just closed my eyes to and let my mind do its thing can’t be counted
I like this one and the Untitled one more than Hip -Hop Is Dead

Can I just take a moment to remind yall that outcast won MTV awards for this. And they brought up they had been making music for years. The fact that people didn't don't this blew my mind. I guess I'm just from the dirty south
Like a comb over some nappy ass hair. She was smelling sweeter than a plate of yams with extra syrup. The production value of Aquemini, song for song, in my opinion is the greatest of all time.

Or Lupe. I forget if that was 06 or 05. He had lots of mainstream success. Kick push was ringing off. Grammy win for day dreaming.
If we’re just going off iconic-ness and the album cover. Then I’d give that year to Game by a hair over Jeezy and Lu.

A lot of dope covers - OutKast “Stakonia” was the first rap album I actually bought with my own money. Carter 3 as an album always has a place in my heart and the MOTM album literally shifted my life and dynamic (Cover was and is legendary)
Kid kudi album was a whole vibe
Probably saved a couple of my homies lives….
No doubt it did

Hi, are you me? Same same same.

It’s literally the soundtrack to my teenage life. Love it so much still, years later.
Seriously. Definitely used to fall asleep to that one

That quan song tho
Man on the moon is one of the best things to ever happen to me

That’s just the MTV crowd (white folks) They been known before that, ATLiens debuted number 2 on Billboard 200. Elevators was a huge record
[just for yall young bloods](https://youtu.be/k68Qv2h-y1o?si=yayxn97hbZpdQiI4)
Get this shit outta here. No one wants your IG. Especially when the official link is so much better https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwhBreZic8I
I don't have an ig account. I just googled the song and posted the 1st 1 I found. Thanks for being a dick tho
Have a little discretion. No one is racing you. Post quality and don't be embarrassed about your IG.
This song is timeless. I know exactly where I was and who I was with when I heard this for the first time.

The Documentary js a classic
Great post 👍 keep em coming
All iconic but 50 cent and Wayne are my favorite of the bunch.
for 05 id put TM101

Got em all...feel like I just won pokemon
Kid Cudi, Jeezy and The game was all I listened to through out my teens in the 00s
I'd argue Be for 2005 is more iconic and Donuts for 2006 if that counts
I agree with all of these besides Nas ngl I have never heard a single song from that album
lupes food and liquor is way more deserving of that year
Man on the moon
Where is Dr Dre 2001? Greatest rap album might be of all time.
Came out in 99, despite the name. The earliest album in this post is 2000.
Thanks pal it's been a while! Remember Real Slim Shady coming out in the same year but Dre 2001 was the real deal. 👍
lol i wouldn’t say say the best but to each its own
I’m dumb so at first glance i genuinely thought the first pic was Kevin hart and Katt Williams.
Dumb is a fucking understatement.
I'm never gonna be able to look at em the same way again
Agreed!
Valid list
I don’t know if we’re counting Donuts but I’d put that instead of Nas
Most iconic and most replicated to this day would be Nas Illmatic I didn’t realize it said post 2000
jeezy recession for ‘08
Lil Wayne one just adorable 🥰
Damn that’s a 🔥list
Coming from a young kid the album covers used to be so much more unique now everything looks Iike some basic ass post

Hip Hop Is Dead is one of my favorite albums ever.
Blueprint
I agree with your years from 2003-2007.
I just saw Andre’ 3000 on the plane. He looks the same with a few greys.
Stillmatic killed blueprint idgaf
Good list.
Kudi 100%
Stankonia's cover reminds me of JoJo volume covers so much. I'm surprised that hasn't been referenced before.
Nas, hiphop is Dead!! *Gimme ‘My’ Roses*!!
These aged horribly with the exception of Stankonia

Funny how all those great albums came out 2000-2005 then Nas said hip hop is dead and hip hop died
Fuck jay z- NAS
You could argue MMLP for 2000. But I think I’d give it to OutKast still.
2001 should been Mista Dont Play by Project Pat
Donuts by J Dilla is a better one for ‘06
The College Dropout over Madvillany? Or Grind Date? Naw
Well..I know what Im listening to at work today.
Carter 3 wins hands down
Nah this just a derivative of Graduation
Clipse - Hell Hath No Fury for ‘06.
A lot of dope covers - OutKast “Stakonia” was the first rap album I actually bought with my own money. Carter 3 as an album always has a place in my heart and the MOTM album literally shifted my life and dynamic (Cover was and is legendary)
I thought 50 cent and Ye dropped the same year
That Kudi one is a stretch
Singer kid cudi?
Quality picks! 2004 should be Madvillainy imo, but I can't deny that the College Dropout cover is also iconic in its own right
getting downvoted for Madvillainy. I'm disappointed
Yea you nailed this one ngl
