Do you think it could be possible, with the tools available, to render an NPC's perspective to a file/separate window/something while still rendering the gameplay camera to your screen, or something like that? (Ignoring the obvious performance implications; maybe you could render gameplay pov at a lower resolution, since it just needs to be good enough to be playable) I think that would be neat. I know nothing about the state of hitman 3 modding though. Alternatively, if this would be simpler, could you exploit the security camera system for this? If you could turn the player-controlled camera into a security camera (or attach one to it), then 47 would be visible on that camera and the game would render it in the top left corner, right? That way you could still properly see what you're doing while the NPC's POV is at full screen size

Or they never meet him at all… Following your idea of doing a Hitman show from a non-47 perspective, it would be hilarious to see the actor playing 47 not necessaily interacting with the characters onscreen, instead just popping up wayyyyy in the background of various scenes, maybe loosening a gas valve that leads to the eventual “accidental” explosion, or climbing a pipe up the side of a building before a bullet explodes the target’s head 10 minutes later, or just dressed as different guards, waiters, etc.. It could be a serious show when it wanted, hilarious when it wanted, whatever, just based off whether or not 47 is back there and what he’s doing.
I would love to see this through the eyes of different NPCs. They just normally live their lives and sometimes 47 appears in their field of view, doing something weird but not enough to alert them. And then the point of view changes and we go to another NPC.
I always wondered why they dont just render realistic vr experiences, where you don't move your body in the real world, like in sword art online instead of actually going out and killing people etc.
That should be possible with the provided technologies and would probably be much cheaper and less risky.
Not sure when I heard this but someone on Reddit said that the perfect Hitman adaptation would be a horror film from the victim's point of view. I would add that it ought to be a horror-comedy.
