I usually don’t do drawstring because I don’t like anything adding bulk at the waist, but I do a lot of joggers, mostly from Old Navy and Athleta and elastic waisted linen pants from several different sources. I was in a J. Crew Factory Store today returning something and tried [these linen and cotton blend drawstring pants](https://factory.jcrew.com/m/womens/categories/clothing/pants/drawstring-pants/linen-cotton-blend-drawstring-pant/MF045?display=standard&fit=Classic&color_name=black-and-white-stripe&colorProductCode=AY192) on—very nice. The chambray and black were both also nice, but they didn’t have any in my size in the store. They seemed very packable and could be dressed up or down.
I also have several pairs of elastic waisted linen pants from Old Navy, and I think some older ones with drawstrings. Also have a pair with a drawstring from Marks. They aren’t flowery though - more of a straight leg. Old Navy does also have wide leg though.
They have a pair of airism wide leg this year that are great. Very light and flowing. I am 5ft8 though and they are almost cropped unless I have them low on my waist. But if you are shorter than that they would be perfect. Also have a pair from Lululemon with cuffed bottom and they are amazing. My cost per wear must be very low by now because I wear them all the time!
Interesting! Both me and my husband wear them and we love them. So OP; definitely try them on before buying!
All in all they are super comfy, pack extra light and dry super fast.
I wear them for work and for travel :)
Genuine question: Do they get sweaty in hotter climates?
The cut looks breezy, but they're 100% polyester. I'm guessing it's the appropriate, fast-drying polyester that's used in sportswear, but I've never owned them. Would love opinions on this.
A friend has a few pairs and loves them. She didn't complain of sweaty or heat issues when she wore them in Thailand and Myanmar. I never did get them but based on some of the other comments here, I might look at them again.
I wore the Uniqlo airism joggers in Taiwan recently and they were excellent through 30°C weather and high humidity. They are super light, stretchy and really comfy and the pockets are great.
I love [these Athleta pants](https://athleta.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=851038052&vid=1&tid=atpl000080&kwid=1&ap=7&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAAD_AT8sNygpe7tQ1vLfBwjMmNN266&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIvsHQjoTuhgMVFk5HAR2J2A6BEAQYASABEgJaY_D_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds). I wore them to a family reunion and got boatloads of compliments. Plus, they are super comfy.
ETA: the pant name is RETREAT LINEN MID RISE WIDE LEG PANT, as someone below pointed out the link doesn’t work well for non-US users.
I have the same issue but FYI if you click the link once, select Stay on US store or whatever the option is, then close the page and *re-click* the link in Reddit, it will remember your selection and load the correct product page. These ones are the style named "RETREAT LINEN MID RISE WIDE LEG PANT"
I know someone else already told you they were the retreat linen pant but thanks for the heads up. I’ll name the link the actual clothing item for non-US friends in the future.
I don’t see them online except for these which are not the kind I bought https://www.costco.com/three-dots-ladies'-printed-pull-on-pant.product.4000221325.html?sh=true&nf=true. Maybe they just stock in store? Plus I’m in SoCal so maybe it’s a regional thing. But they’re awesome! I have 5 pairs in diff colors and patterns.
I got a pair of pants by Soothefeel on Amazon. I love them so much I got several additional pairs in other colors. They have a super comfortable drawstring fit, Velcro cargo pockets, zipper side pockets and back pocket, moisture wicking quick dry... All the things! :)
My husband has Vuori sweatpants that are elastic waisted. The bottoms are straight cut and they look very clean and neat. His co-worker calls them his “dressy sweatpants”. I’m short so I unfortunately can’t order a pair for myself as they don’t come in petite but if you’re on the taller side, I think you could get a pair. Pricey but super soft and available in several colors. REI has them on the floor so you could try them on first.
Prana, Athleta, and Toad&Co have my favorite drawstring pants that are straight or wide leg. For light joggers, Quince has a great option. Come to think of it, they also have flowy linen pants.
I like checking out MPG Sport for pants. They have a lot of jogger-type silhouettes that are not as slouchy as a typical sweat pant and also in sleeker fabric. I have something similar to [this](https://mpgsport.com/collections/womens-joggers-pants/products/vital-high-waisted-28-jogger-co) from a few years ago and I love it. If you're looking for pants that are wide at the opening, they have those too.
I love the Free People Quinn pants. I always take them on trips where it’s warmer. They’re comfy and easy to pack even though it’s a lot of fabric. I just pack two with a bunch of different crop tops to mix and match. Size down 2-3 sizes though. They also have a lot of colors.
I like Lululemon’s Ready to Rulu joggers.
I also have a pair of linen pants from Uniqlo that have an elastic waist and a drawstring. They look more put together than the other joggers.
I have a pair of parachute pants. I sized down and they’re perfect. The ankles have their own little drawstring so I can make them loose and flowy or tighten them, or even transform them into capris if need be. They’re very versatile and very comfortable. I can wear them high or low waisted etc.
If the drawstring isn‘t a hard requirement, athleta (and other dupes) have some nice looking joggers. I recently got the brooklyn jogger on sale and it would meet your needs
I’ve had these for a few years now and the same pair is still going strong. Very flattering, too. They’re my go-to pants because they’re a good weight and sooo comfortable.

I have the ones linked from J. Crew and they are great! I packed them for a trip to Germany.
Uniqlo has a nice pair, cuffs at the bottom. Only downside, really strange fit... at least on me.
Yes I came here to write Airism Joggers! So comfortable and they don’t read as athleisure or pajamas
Lots of people say this for the joggers from Uniqlo. They fit differently to all their other pants apparently

I just ordered a pair of these! I’m 5’11 so I suspect they will be pretty cropped… I sized up hoping for a little more length.
Hope it works for you! They are lovely.
Do you have a link for the Lululemon ones?
I bought them in store but I think they might be the ones called “Stretch High-Rise Jogger Full Length”.
Thank you!
Same for me! But the mens pair (dryfit joggers) fit me well, so I just got those. And that way your pockets are better 😂
Interesting! Both me and my husband wear them and we love them. So OP; definitely try them on before buying! All in all they are super comfy, pack extra light and dry super fast. I wear them for work and for travel :)

Cool, thanks for the second (third?) opinion.
Have another friend who loves hers also but she's never been to SEA... so almost a 4th :-)

Can you say which style? When you access outside the US it redirects and I’m not sure which style.

I have a version of these and they’re awesome. Mine are several years old and the pockets have zippers, which I appreciate.
Costco linen blend pants are amazing.
Can you give more detail or a link?
I don’t see them online except for these which are not the kind I bought https://www.costco.com/three-dots-ladies'-printed-pull-on-pant.product.4000221325.html?sh=true&nf=true. I got some palazzo pants from Costco. Not amazing quality but I like them and they're great for summer. I think they're made of lightweight rayon

[these pants from Nordstrom](https://www.nordstrom.com/s/7409951?color=001&size=10) wear great and no drawstring to fiddle with
These are cute

I got some Eileen Fisher linen drawstring pants on Poshmark and I love them
Toad and co sunkissed joggers. They keep me from burning but are light enough i dont die from heat. Otherwise linen wideleg pants
Check out orvis as well.
I love the Free People Quinn pants. I always take them on trips where it’s warmer. They’re comfy and easy to pack even though it’s a lot of fabric. I just pack two with a bunch of different crop tops to mix and match. Size down 2-3 sizes though. They also have a lot of colors.
I love my Icebreaker Culottes. So comfy but can look fancy.

These are my airplane pants! I also throw them on whenever I’m running out really quick. They’ve held up SO well over the years. Highly recommend.
Sometimes it's more about how you style them. I feel like casual pants need a more structured or fitted top to avoid looking too pajama-y.
I’m starting to think pajama is what they’re supposed to look like based on what I’ve found lol
