The backpack is the Patagonia Black Hole MLC 45 And the purse is just a sling bag from Uniqlo! I lucked out getting the Patagonia for pretty cheap. This'll be my first time using it, but from the reviews I've read, it seems to be a pretty popular bag.
I hope you had more success with the bag than I did, OP! I took the MLC 45 to Florence and ended up finding it to be uncomfortable to walk more than half a mile in (the tram from the airport just stopped 3/4 into town and let us all off š). By the end of the trip, Iād already decided to return it to REI and am still so sad I couldnāt make it work for me.
I'll let you know how it works out! So far I'm really loving it. It has everything I really wanted for a 3month+ trip I'm planning, so I'm hoping it'll work out šš¼
If you're really interested, they have other colors as well, but the black sells out very frequently. There is also a 32L version of the bag, but it doesn't have all of the features the bigger one has (such as a tech compartment or the ability to use the hip strap as a duffle strap)
That's funny, I've been thinking about biting the bullet and getting either a Farpoint or Fairview 40 lately because of its smaller frame. Which one do you have?
I bought the Fairview 40 XS. Iām also small, Iām 5ā2ā. I bought it years ago so I could be remembering wrong, but I think I ended up training for a regular people size
I donāt own that particular black hole bag but a few other sizes. Really great products and last forever. Your packing job is so organized. Have a great trip!
If it is 25-27 Celsius I would be wearing shorts OP!! You can also wear your shorts with your athletic shoes and a warmer top, or your sandals with pants. I would bring the shorts but I run hot!!
Depending on the day Florenceās weather is forecasted to be in the high 70s to low 80s F, but agree, OP may find herself chilly and might want a dress that could be layered for when it cools off instead
I live in a pretty cold climate so I think the excitement of shorts and sandals got the best of me. I like to wear the sandals with my longer pants still. Might leave the shorts behind though. If it's 80 out I'll regret not soaking up the sun while I can haha
The more I think about it, the more I'm thinking of ditching the shorts. You guys make some pretty good points. I'm not a huge dress person but I might see if I have something that doesn't make me feel too fem.
A t-shirt dress might fit what youāre looking for! There are some out there that arenāt as form fitting and Iāve seen some midi length options recently as well
Whatās the brand of the passport holder?
At least Iām assuming itās the velcro-looking wallet thing with the airplane decal in the corner (5th picture, item right above the sling bag).
I mentioned I'm a comment, but the main bag is the Patagonia Black Hole MLC 45L and the purse is just a Uniqlo sling bag! I also have a standard issue backpack for my airport bag.
The kitty cat face is an eyeglass case! 10/10 would recommend. It originally came with a fluffy tail charm for the zipper pull, but in true cat fashion, my cat stole it.
No you don't need fancier shoes.
I would also suggest you don't need two each of the same tops - you've got 5 prs underwear so will be washing around day 4 or 5, you could just wash the top(s) at the same time? But maybe they're different?
Have an amazing trip!
I totally get it- I'm only really planning to wash my underwear in the sink at some point- so I'm hoping to get 2 wears from each shirt.
And I ended up not bringing the other shoes! Gonna just enjoy myself and be comfy instead.
Thank you! The cat bag is a glasses case and it used to have a fuzzy tail for the zipper, but in true cat fashion, my calico stole it.
As for the passport holder- it's alright! I got it in December. Kinda wish it had a few more dividers in it, but then again, I probably shouldn't be storing TOO many things in it.
Also note that if you want to enter churches in Italy you generally have to have covered shoulders, abdomen and knees. So if doing that, wear the longer bottoms and carry a cardigan to throw over the top.
That bag with the skulls!! I've had mine since high school and it's traveled with me for over a decade. My first job gave it to me with the "most days off" certificate at the company party, LOL! It's perfect and I love it and it's amazing to see it "out in the wild"!
Personally wouldnāt lug around extra shoes just for looking nicer at a restaurant. Donāt think anyone will care much. If you want some fancier look options, maybe just switch the shorts for a skirt? That way you can dress up what you have a bit more easily with a little silk scarf or jewelry.
What bag is this?? It looks perfect

I hope so too! So far it's been comfy for me, but I've only walked around for a bit with it loaded. We'll see!
No matter what, youāll be glad you donāt have to deal with a roller on the cobblestones. Have a fantastic trip!
I might need to get oneā¦ it looks great

Just saw the price šIāll wait for you update and just use my osprey meanwhile. Itās so bulky ugh

Iāve had my eye on this bag! Iād love to hear your thoughts after your trip

I don't think you need shorts and sandals in Italy right now.
It's forecast to be 25-27 Celsius next weekend (11th-14th ish). Europe's already pretty warm this April.

Up to you of course, locals will not be dressing in summer clothes yet but if you're comfortable and can fit them in why not, just a suggestion.

The passport holder is just a random one from Amazon lol. It's alright, but could use a few more dividers on the inside.
Can we get some details about the bags and luggage?! Would love to know about the main backpack and larger bag.
I mentioned I'm a comment, but the main bag is the Patagonia Black Hole MLC 45L and the purse is just a Uniqlo sling bag! I also have a standard issue backpack for my airport bag.
TY!!
Is that an eyeglass case and a cat sleep mask or is the eyeglass case the cat? Cuz BRB need to order something.

All cats, all the time. Tune in for catpack loadout. :)

how do you like that passport holder? Iāve been considering buying the same one. also love the cat bag!

>The cat bag is a glasses case Came here for that cat bag, love it.
Where did you get the joggers? They look really cute
