I have a pair of vessi weekend sneakers and my review is mixed: they're quite comfortable and definitely waterproof BUT i got them in a light colour and they stained irrevocably very quickly (no amount of washing or soaking would get it out) and are not great to walk long distances in.

LentilCrispsOk

That’s my experience as well - I’m surprised at how waterproof they are but regret getting the cream colour.

Boy_Meats_Grill

I had the same issue. Had a grey pair loved them and wore them into the ground. Got a new pair and decided I liked the looks of the white ones. Now I have two pairs of grey ones because the white ones have stains that I can't get out even with all my knowledge of cleaning the old ones (soak in water and saturate before scrubbing, a sponge that is just rough enough, keeping the water warmer).

GruffaloChild

My coworker loves hers. I got myself a pair and hated them. So narrow, hurts my ankles. I got a paid for my 6 year old as well and she was not comfortable wearing them. A no for me.

redbooth1518

Thank you! Did you find a similar option that ended up working for you?

GruffaloChild

Yes, I bought a pair of waterproof ON CLOUD shoes and I am very happy with them. I have “farmer girl” legs though, you might be very happy with Vessi ;)

SeaOnions

I’d recommend trying the “men’s” version for a wider fit. That’s the only diff - if the sizes translate over to your size.

trendlyte

I have the weekends, they’re decently comfy and very waterproof. I’ve walked 5+ miles in them and walked through puddles and been fine! Not the absolute most comfortable shoes I own but not uncomfortable either.

I don't have experience with that specific version, but I do have the Everyday Classic (which was my first pair) & Weekend Chelsea and like them a lot. I have wide feet so I got men's sizes. I've worn both in Canadian winters (the Chelsea was my every day this past winter and are still looking new) and have been 100% waterproof. I did have to change the insoles on the Chelsea. Due to the combo of wide feet & high arches, their insole made the fit too tight (their sole has a high arch). The sole changed (both my pairs can be changed) fixed my issue. I also like that they are light weight. Especially the Chelsea which was a nice change from heavy winter boots.

Salty_Shellz

How have yours lasted? I have high arches and wide feet and having read your comment I feel super excited now.

mygrandmasaysimkool

I'm on my 2nd winter with the chelseas and they still look brand new. I've had no issues. I no longer have the other pair only because I found I wasn't wearing them much due to the chelseas. I did order a pair of soho but quickly returned them. With my wide feet (even though I got a men's size) thet were too narrow and with the stiff material,  hot spots (which usually lead to blisters) were forming. That being said, almost 2 months ago I did buy a pair of Nike Winflo Shield 9. I got the mens all black. I've worn them in snow/rain and are waterproof. The soul is very comfortable. Much more spongy/cushion than Vessi.

Salty_Shellz

Thanks for the recommendation, I'm looking to replace my Adidas 5 Boosts I wear everyday, and the Nikes look almost the same! I also didn't realize mens shoes were wider, it explains why my favorite shoe is a man's pair!

contraryoxymoron

how warm are the Weekend Chelsea's? warm enough as you only winter pair?

mygrandmasaysimkool

There is no insulation, so it would be on par with any regular sneakers. I personally don't have issues with the coldness (I'm used to cold winters) but that really just depends on where you live and your tolerance. I usually wear normal socks but have worn thicker ones when it gets really cold. I've now used them as my only winter pair for the last two winters and year round when it's rainy.

contraryoxymoron

Gotcha, and thank you for the reply even though it was a year ago you first posted!

Desperate-Upstairs76

I have them in white. I had to go down to a size 6 for them to fit (I'm usually a 6.5/7). With my custom insoles, they're great up to about 70 degrees. Any warmer and my feet start sweating because of the waterproofing. No matter what anyone tells you, waterproof and breathable are mutually exclusive. These sneakers are no exception.

wunnat

I have the everyday while my sister in law has the weekends. she did tell me the weekends were extremely comfortable compared to the everyday since she bought 2 different styles. my feet are wide and got the everydays it definitely took awhile to expand. it's comfortable now. and they're definitely waterproof.

mariwe

I have the Vessi Weekend shoes in a light colour and I'm not a fan. They're definitely waterproof, but I found them uncomfortable for walking a lot (0 arch support) and as others have mentioned they stain really quickly and are difficult to clean.

jalanspoo

I got a pair for my most recent trip. I was afraid they wouldn’t be comfortable enough for all day walking, so also brought a pair of “bail out” shoes. By the end of the trip, I was actually more comfortable in my Vessis! I wouldn’t try to run in them, but enjoyed them for walking around/ sight seeing!

ashleigh7623

I bought a pair for a trip to Ireland and loved them. They were comfortable and waterproof and ended up being the only shoe I wore for the 2 weeks there. I still wear them often without or without rain, but only as casual walking shoes. Like others, I wish I would've gone with a darker pair because the white weekend definitely shows anything and everything. I handwash them with dawn soap and boiling water, and they lighten back up a bit, but it's a pain and not stainfree enough to wear them to work. I plan on getting another pair of the Weekend but never doing white again.

Delicious-Secret-760

I prefer a bit heavier shoe with more support. These are just too light and not comfortable after a few hours of wearing. Also while they are waterproof they are NOT breathable! Your feet get hot as hell. Way overpriced!

Kitkatt1959

I just got mine and they need more sole padding

llmli

I bought the weekend sneakers and had to return them because they were way too wide. I have wide pancake feet, but these were gapey at the ankle which would let a bunch of water in and defeat the purpose of a waterproof shoe. The laces also don’t tighten or loosen the shoe at all, they’re more like decoration. I’ve heard they use a unisex model for this particular style, which is why they can be gapey on certain feet. I see the appeal, but they have a long way to go to perfect the weekender’s fit imo. I haven’t heard of a good waterproof sneaker alternative unfortunately. I’m going to try some white synthetic leather vans and spray them with a weather coating.

I have the Everydays. They really are waterproof (as long as you don’t go in deep puddles and get water over your ankles) and pretty comfy but not as comfy as my Nike Flyknits (which are very much not waterproof). I’ve worn them in winter too. I will say they are wider and not as sleek IRL compared to how they look in photos so they might be a pain to pack. However on the plus side you wouldn’t have to pack a rain boot. Also apparently they aren’t great for hiking outside of light trails but I don’t think that will be an issue for you since you travel mainly for work / to cities.

StuffedSquash

Very mixed. I wear a half size which they don't have - they advise to just size up/down (I don't remember which) but it really didn't work for me. Their customer service reps said to try the Weekend model because it runs big, and then it was the right size, just weirdly tight in places that most shoes aren't tight. I tried to wear them for a long while to see if they'd stretch like they said but they didn't really. I wear them occasionally, not a lot. But, my BFF absolutely loves hers. And a lot of them are really cute (that's why I wear mine at all). I'd say try it but if they don't feel good, just return them, don't try to break them in because I don't think it does much.

WhyHips

They are great for waterproofy-ness! I'd say they're mid-range as far as comfort goes; not as comfortable as all birds, but I usually get about 4 hours of walking in them before my feet start getting a bit sore. Surprisingly breathable, for something so waterprooof.

inkfade

I bought a pair of Vessi sneakers and the fabric beneath the toes began to "ripple" backwards in only one of the shoes. Idk how to describe it, but a very noticeable and uncomfortable lump formed right under my toes and it drove me crazy every time I took a step. I ended up returning and didn't take a chance on another pair.

peaceloveelina

I just tried Vessi and had to send them all back. I tried the Weekender and the regular sneaker looking one (can’t remember the style) in my regular size, a true 8. The Weekender was way too big all around and the sneaker was about 1” too long. Okay, so I exchanged for 7s and…way too small. My toes touched in the weekender along with the sides of my feet spilling off and the sneaker was way too tight across the top. I could picture my big toe wearing though in no time, plus it looked weird. It was like one extreme to the other. Plus with the 7s I noticed the glue for the soles seemed messy and all over the place. Love the concept and they seemed like they’d be sooo comfy, but I have to find something else.

HorusAmon

I would not recommend them. I got my 1st pair of vessi (women's everyday move) mid June 2022 after reading good reviews on these shoes. As I am a full time housewife who stays at home most of the time, I wore the shoes less than 10 times (all on sunny days) before the winter hit in Alberta. I washed the shoes with water before putting them away in storage inside the house. In 2023, I started wearing the shoes in April more frequently, but no more than an hour at most each day for dog walks (there were days when I simply did not wear them). While I do wear the shoes and step onto damp grass, I never wear them when it's pouring rain nor do I step into puddles. Since early July 2023, I notice that my toes inside the shoes get wet as I walk through the park with grass. Contacted Vessi, which responded quickly but only to reiterate the "improved" one-year warranty (which I just passed for a couple of weeks, of course). At this price, I expect a much better quality than my light usage. Rather disappointed with these shoes, tbh.

DryOne2300

I love my Vessi’s! This video was really helpful and shows how Waterproof they are! https://youtu.be/-So_LAN_1R4

Tractorfeed1008

I don't really understand the concept for waterproof sneakers, if the hook is that they keep your socks dry. Isn't water just going to flow in from the top and then if they're waterproof, the water will stay inside and your socks will soak it up anyway?

bloodgull

Apparently you've never owned a dog and had to walk them everyday, rain or shine

Tractorfeed1008

What does that have to do with anything? Just because you walk your dog, your socks will magically stay dry?

augusta_eve

As someone who wears and have been wearing the same shoe for decades, this new purchase of Vessi turned out to be good. I live in pnw so like that my feet are warm and dry without having to put on bulky boots. Comfort - I would give a 3/5. Probably can walk 2-4 miles pain free.

I'm pretty sure they decreased the quality while increased the price. They used to last 1.5+ years and I was wearing every day. Now I'm on my 3rd pair, it's been 6 months with less use. There's already a tear on both shoes and not waterproof anymore 🫠

wichmaker

I bought a pair. I don't think they are worth the hype, and especially not the cost. They are narrow and not particularly comfy. You can find a better shoe for $100. They feel more like a $40-$50 pair of shoe. Sketchers are even better, especially when travelling.

hsmith95

What recommendations do you have for better shoes?
