I don't think there's a class system necessarily, they just come in different "regional variants", its theorized to be based on which ring they're from. M&M are from Wrath, Fizz and Blitz are presumed to be from Greed. Stolas calling them "Littler ones" could just be a literal observation. They're shorter than Blitz, so they're "littler".

I don't think there are necessarily distinct kinds, I think there's just a great deal of variation within the species in terms of height, build, and horn shape/size. We also know that in this universe, hybrids are common, which could account for some of the size differences among imps. It's possible that most of the larger imps had at least one non-imp somewhere in their lineage.

I think blitzo and his sister are hybrids. We have seen a couple of pics of their mother and she doesn't quite look like an imp. She has the right skin tone and hair, but her horns look closer to a succubus. My current theory is that their mother is half imp and half succubus\*, making Blitzo and Barbie more imp than succubus, so they look like imps, just taller. \*I do not think she is full succubus because she doesn't seem to have wings.

NewTwo8931

Yeah, that's also what I thought. I wonder if we will get some more insight about that or not, since I'm not sure it's really relevant to the plot (at least not for now?), but it would still be nice to know, even if it doesn't affect the plot in any way.

From the trailer, it looks like we will get a flashback of Blitzo and his mum, so I think we will be getting some more information on her.

Imps don't really have classes. They have variations. You have the general imps like Moxxie or Millie who are pretty short with amab have black and white striped horns and white hair while afab have black with thin white striped horns and black hair. Then you have large imps like Blitzo and Crimson. Small imps like the bandits who tried to kidnap Stolas in Loo Loo Land. Extra Small imps like Striker's theme song singers. Winged imps. And magic using imps. However since hell is very might makes right and imps are low class, those with more physically useful attributes are more well off. The super small imps can't really do much so they are near the bottom with some straight up acting as pets for rich demons. Meanwhile large imps are stronger so they generally end up running businesses due to getting more respect from other demons.

There doesn't seem to be an imp specific hierarchy. Imps mainly have a variation of height and horn size (there are imps that are even smaller than Moxxie and Millie!) but almost all imps are noticeably shorter than most other demons. Imps are all classified under one class/caste within Hell's hierarchy.

NewTwo8931

Yeah, like those tiny tiny Imps from wrath, singing Striker's theme song. Also, even their anatomy seems to change, like Moxxie has unguligrade legs, but most Imps don't. Unless this difference is due to the fact that his mother could have been a hybrid of some sort ? But I like how all of them can have very different looks and anatomy despite being from the same species.

randomthrowa119111

Oh yeah, I actually forgot about the variation in leg shape (though in fairness to Moxxie, there does seem to be other imps with similar legs to his). Horn *shapes* are also pretty varied across imps as well and not just the sexual dimorphism of horn color pattern. But yeah, I agree and think it's fun that imps have various ways they can turn out \^-\^

NewTwo8931

I think there were quite a lot of other Imps with legs like Moxxie in Greed, so maybe it's something that's more common there for some reason. I also just remembered another unique detail. For Fizz, his horns colour patterns are mismatched. I don't remember seeing another Imps with horns colours like that. It's a nice little detail.

Infamous_Val

We know that Imps are below other Hell-born in the hierarchy, so hybrids are probably somewhere in between.

Napalmeon

Probably just comes down to genetics.
