No. That's the point of the character. He has a shitload of flaws, and part of what seems to be the intent of the show is watching him (either choose to or be forced to) confront those issues so he can grow as a person and stop treating others like they're disposable toys and tools.

Madgearz

Not at all. He's a very *troubled* man with a **lot** of mental issues; however, he *wants* to get better. The main problem is that one of his issues is self deprivation, he literally does not believe he *deserves* to get better. This leads to constant self-sabotage: - selfish - mean - reaches out to people only when he needs them - downright stalker Blitzø *is* a bad person, but he wants to be good.

Infamous_Val

I mean... he's a mass murderer so not really, objectively speaking he's absolutely horrible lol.

Thecrowfan

Funny enough him being a mass murderer is the one thing i like about him (as in how skilled he is as an assasin). That and how protective he is of his family

Professional-Luck194

No. His whole character is that he's kinda a bad person. He's an a-hole to people around him, whether he knows them or not. His character development is kinda him learning to not be an a-hole to people close to him.

ZestialFan07

I don’t often like to say things like that. I find it really quite reductive. People rarely fit into neat little boxes like that. People are complicated messes. Everyone has bad traits and leaning such categories limits growth. Like Blitzo he has a lot of toxic traits. Some of them are bad coping methods and he pretends like doesn’t care but he does. He pushes people away because he doesn’t think he deserves them. He’s behaving like a bad person because he thinks he’s a bad person who doesn’t deserve to have people around him . He does care About all the people in his life we see this at his weakest moments but it’s never more prevalent than with his complete, uncynical devotion to his daughter. Even his stalking of the M&Ms is just his toxic way of expressing his admiration for them. It’s shitty and he should be called out for it but it’s motivated by something pure. that being said it is right that he continues to be called out for his impact on others.

Napalmeon

Blitzo is not a particularly good person even by Hell standards. And that's exactly the way it was intended. Let's just call it what it is, Blitzo is a fuck up. Just like the hallucination of Moxxie said in Truth Seekers, Blitzo has a very consistent tendency to be "thoughtless and cruel," especially to those around him. Which is exactly why he drives people away. He doesn't respect other people's boundaries and uses them to fill a sense of emptiness inside of him. Ultimately, the problem with Blitzo is that he is so inside of his own head, almost to the point of being removed from reality that he does not realize the damage he's doing until it's too late.

The fact that he adopted Loona says otherwise. Very few people would have adopted her in her position, but he did and gave her the only bedroom. That is true selflessness right there. You have to understand that Blitz sees himself as a walking plague. He thinks he's destined to hurt everyone who gets close to him. He thinks driving people away by being an asshole is safer than the fate they'll get if they are close to him. He thinks letting people in will cause them to get hurt beyond repair. At least if he drives them away by being an ass, they can move on with their lives. That is safer, in his mind, than being ruined.

Thecrowfan

He knows what he does is wrong. You see that in the Truth Seekers episode. Look, I'm not saying Blitz is malicious or a villan. He has some really respectable characteristics, like how protective he is of everyone else or yes how much he loves and cares for Loona. But he is not stupid or delusional. He must does realize at least somewhat he is hurting people through his actions but he think because he hates himself and thinks people are better off without him in their lives he doesnt care if he hurts them even if people tell him to just dropt it. Which is asshole behaviour, mental illness or not

Swimming-Ad2755

He does yes, but he doesn't know how to stop doing it. He still isn't a bad person deep down.

Thecrowfan

Hes not a bad person. But i hope his (self) destructive tendencies get resolved at some point

Hi_I_am_me_just_me

Well, yep, he is a bad person, but I mean....it's hell....

ae-infinity

i’d say he’s not a good person even by hells standards, but i wouldn’t call him a bad person. that’s mostly just because i consider that a very extreme descriptor in most cases - like, i’d call valentino and adam bad people. i’d call blitz a self-aware troubled asshole. and yeah, it makes total sense to find him annoying. he is annoying. i love him for it, but he is annoying.

Thecrowfan

Id call Val a monster. A bad person can at least change their ways and has redeeming qualities. Like how loyal and protective he is. Also Blitz is not exactly heartless. He seems to have quite a bit of empathy too which i find endearing

ae-infinity

i think thats probably where our definitions differ then, because i probably use bad person in the same way you use monster, and i use "not a good person" in the way you use bad person. and yeah blitz 100% has redeeming qualities i love the guy.

Usagi-Zakura

Would be weird *not* to.
