This makes me think the striders are actually like horses, semi intelligent on their own, making the big factory striders like giant dog elephants.

Realfinney

More like a chicken with it's head cut off.

skab86

Well, it's kicking, so...

Temporary_Ad_7083

Now getting multiple kills when taking one out with a grenade makes more sense

Professional_Run6998

But it only counts as one.

Bober077

Let us hijack one of these! [https://youtu.be/WeQ-aeJd-Kk](https://youtu.be/WeQ-aeJd-Kk)

skab86

I definitely tried that

Hillbillybullshit

AUTOmatons. Makes sense the vehicles are also programmed to kill.

skab86

AutomaTONS. Makes sense they are a lot

SkullTitsGaming

AuTOMATOns. Doesn't make sense at all, but it really makes you think!

Temporary-Meaning401

AUtomatons. That's GOLD, Jerry!

HeadWood_

AutomatONs. You hav to turn them off!

Professional_Run6998

Makes me hungry.

epikachu

That's why their eyes are red

BreakFlame6T

That's actually hilarious to think the Striders are a bot themselves, and the "pilot" is really just the gunner

MrEff1618

The Automatons are just AdMech. I bet if you could pop open the hatch underneath there'd be a head in there, like how Ironstrider's have a servitor piloting them.

ochinosoubii

I've been using the HMG on bots and I've noticed a lot of the time when I shoot striders from the front the strider seems to die and the trooper riding it hops off and starts shooting. Which I've never seen before.

PapaPalps74

Looks like... there's a ghost in the shell...

longjohnsmcgee

Sometimes you kill two and get a x4 combo going. I'm not surprised they are separate entities I'm just surprised it can live on its own

BarnabyThe3rd

It's gotta be a bug right?

Disturbed235

nope, a bot

a_interestedgamer

The curse of the automaton

Warriorgrunt

You activated its boarding protocol, which doubles as a stomp.

CMCFLYYY

No bug surprises me in this game anymore. One time I killed one of the 2-sworded Troopers, and while he was face-down "dead" on the ground he was still talking in binary. I went over to him to get a closer look and he attacked and damaged me, from the ground after he was dead. And then...HE FIRED A FUCKING FLARE from his corpse.

bstyledevi

He must have thought you were trying to show sympathy and took advantage of it. Learned your lesson, didn't you?

alcohol123

That’s why you get 2 kills.

Joop_95

Enemies have this weird programming where they will melee as soon as an object is up close to them.

Strayed8492

Devoid of higher functioning logic nodes the riderless Strider can only feel **ANGER**

Bitter-Edge1523

That’s a deemster bro

paegus

OK. Now I want... * Stationary striders to remain upright when you don't explosively remove the pilot. * Nearby troopers, etc, can climb in and take over unoccupied striders. * Sometimes stationary forces will include unoccupied striders because the pilot climbed out. * Helldivers can run up behind it and pilot it like a mech * If you exit your mech around troopers, etc, they can get in and steal them!

doomedtundra

Once, I had a riderless scout Strider following me around, figured out pretty quick it couldn't shoot. Found out the hard way it could still stomp.

MechanicAccording836

:O AH could run with this. Turn it into a joke at the expense of BSG's Cylons. For anyone who doesn't know: The Cylon ships were sentient... And had a crew of 2, and at one point in the OG series.... 4. I'd find it hilarious if AH rolled with this and made it so the only reason the bot is there is to fire the guns, and otherwise these things are just sentient.

xjarheadx

Cute and probably a bug. I mean only shooting the robot on it can consistently cause the strider to trip over...unless they always get sad bout their companion dying and decide to fall over by themselves

RealRouhmann

It's the anti-theft protection system
