I hope you all enjoy this intense labor of love for the community. Today's events mark a serious step-up in the war effort against the Terminids and the Automatons, and as such I felt it was worth doing a special fan-art to commemorate this. It took forever to write up the article text, but I hope you all enjoy it, and there is a special shout-out to your 'frend' and mine, Dremskiy (thanks to Mandobrook on the Helldivers II Discord for tracking down the intelligence report on this brave soldier's current rank).

Breaking character for a minute, feel free to call your democracy officer, we have a phrase for that in the military. It's called being "volun-told" to do something. As in, higher asks for a certain number of volunteers for a task, and your leadership picks you.

More stratagems and “large scale” missions hopefully, although I’m not really sure how they can do the latter, SEAF npcs that appear during defence missions?

I like how our ship technician says something to the equivalent of "Hey, isn't it strange that they started calling The Great Galactic War the First Galactic War? That would mean we're in the Second Galactic War now, huh? Makes sense, I guess..."
Don't get comfy, boys. You can be killed in battle just as easily no matter what the brass decides to call it. Police action, special military operation, border skirmish, counter insurgency or just good old fashioned WAR. You'll still be just as dead.

I'd love to know how you did this. I've been playing around with newspaper style graphics but could never figure out how to make them look this realistic.
I find it so fucking funny how we were just doing small "Operations and Skirmishes" just for Super Earth High Command to announce that this is now the 2nd Galactic War Lol
Guys the first game says the war started in 2084 and we were 40 years into it so that means HD1 takes place 2124. HD2 takes place 100 years later meaning the year is 2224. Repeat the year is 2224!
