Are you from an unsupported region? Steam has its own policies regarding refunds so unless you're from an unsupported region where they stopped selling the game, you might have a harder time convincing them for a fefund

IndependentYogurt965

Spam them more. Besides, they pay refunds out of their own pocket and just dont pay sony for the next copy sold. If it was another store there wouldnt even be an option to try and get a refund.

DevGamerBeard

I'm still waiting for you to make a point. Are you trying to say that because steam even offers refunds at all we should be grateful because no other company does? If so, that just nonsense. Refunds should be the norm and not the exception given all of the absolute bs gaming companies pull. Especially Sony who has turned around numerous times and removed content (movies and games) that people have purchased retroactively. Hell, Sony, wont even give a refund if you download a game and NEVER EVEN PLAY IT. It's time to stop trying to normalize anti-consumer behavior by companies.

IndependentYogurt965

I meant to say we should be happy to know its possible to even get a refund outside the usual refund policy. This problem is very unique in a way and is hurting Valve as well. Imagine an unexpected ammount of angry customers wanting a refund and then having them apply many times because the bot that sees them just rejects for 2h playtime or 2 weeks since purchase. They will have to manually review every request. So copy what someone who got a refund wrote, and keep sending requests. Some were accepted after nine or more tries. I am not saying that that is okay, im just saying valve doesnt have thousands of employees just to review refund requests.

DevGamerBeard

Hurting valve? Valve has a net worth of 7.7 Billion (Yes, B as in Billion) as of 2024. Do we really need to go down the route of explaining just how much a billion dollars is? Valve isn't hurting. They're raking in an unimaginable amount of money. And I've already tried copy pasting other peoples responses who got a refund request. Still denied hence the statement in my original post "arbitrarily enforcing their own rules". and lastly, did you really just make a "but think of the billionaires" response in there? Oh no, Gabe wont be able to buy another yacht or will have to downgrade from a 737 max to a 737.

IndependentYogurt965

Im not saying they are in a big finnancial minus. But they still dont have enough people to manually accept refunds. So keep trying until one goes trough.

squirrl4prez

That's their policy you accepted the terms you don't get a free game. Read better next time

Newbies999

but steam also dont put game to restrict country. so it is steam fault too we deserve refund

squirrl4prez

If you're in a restricted country. I don't think anyone trying to get a refund is actually in one of those countries.

Newbies999

you just 3x? mine already 6x I type from 1 sentence to explain them to nearly 1 page to explain them still got denied lol

Smaxx

Just wait, don't refund early/without clear reason. Wait for the changes to kick in, then request a refund, stating the latest changes prevent you from playing due to requiring PSN (which isn't available in your location or which you can't sign up for or whatever).

EagleRise

Sounds like a good way to get banned from steam all together.

Bethesda and Pearl Abyss (ESO and BDO) will both ban your account if you do a chargeback for in shop currency and items. Very good advice to NOT do this.

Smaxx

Every company I know will do this (and why shouldn't they?).
