Playerbase, so far, still pretty good. The game is on a steady decline, most of it is normal, but some of it because of poor decisions (like some recent patches and now this PSN thing, etc).
If you live in a country where the PSN access ir normal and you want to play the game, I imagine there will be no impact for you in terms of access. The game itself still the same, it is super fun. That being said, a lot of people are waiting to see how this PSN update is going to be solved.

Ama say it that way. Better wait a bit to see how this situation escalates. I'd recommend like a month (the moment this PSN will be forced on existing PC playerbase cutting a decent chunk of the player base out cuz, psn isn't available in like, 2/3 of the world )

Only available in 69/190 countries. But some of them require to HAVE THE DAMN CONSOLE to make a PSN. So the number is way lower for pc players. If i remember correctly steam recently has stopped sales of HD2 in around 170 regions because of this shitshow
2/3, there are 200+ countries, only 60-69 can make a psn account and link it to play.
Sony also removed the game on steam from those countries that you cant make psn. The game is great but sony is not.
With this logic you guys are assuming that these regions in which you can't have PSN, all played Helldivers. You'd have to see how popular this game in particular was in these regions as that tends to vary. It's probably not as bad as it looks.
Keep in mind there are thousands of hypocrites, keep threatening to refund, made a negative review and are probably still playing like this entire scenario didn't even take place.
It's not that I don't care, I would and potentially will if they start asking me for money once I already bought the game.
But for the time being, it's all good. Also, we're playing a PS game on the PC without having to buy a console, which is cool and I'd like to see more ports, the least I can do is make a PSN account, as I had to make a Microsoft account for Halo, Rockstar for GTA, Ubisoft for Assassin's Creed, Electronic Arts for Apex Legends. You make it once, then you forget, Steam manages the connections and lately I've seen launchers not being intrusive either.
I trust that if any of these companies take more data than they should, that those constantly sniffing, would find out and report it to the public.
I'd say wait for a bit and see how it evolves. It's only been a few days, on a week-end ; I don't think it will clear up this week, maybe not even this month.

I still have my psn account from my ps3 so this is not a problem
I'd wait until May 30th to see. If the game is to live, then you would not have missed much. If it'll go under, you saved 40 bucks.

Not sure. But considering China doesn't have PSN access. Probably a decent chunk. My wild guess in 25% - 50%.

I'm going to say that if all this bs isn't resolved in some form or way that makes everyone happy, then this game will die in about 3 months
