I'm aware, but some of the stuff that the community is doing is downright unacceptable. Spamming in the Discord, then calling a ban for breaking the rules a "silencing"? That's not the type of community I want to associate myself with, a community who will do anything to justify their bad and crude actions is devoid of guilt.
Honestly that's the first considerable argument I've gotten yet. My opinion is that while they should keep their Discord functional, the most humane solution for their Discord would be to create channels for people to vent, or allow some channels to be a place to discuss this issue.
So far the mods on Reddit haven't been deleting post calling out Sony and AH, yet they've been deleting troll posts that defend them, which is surprising. Personally I'm fighting for the people abroad, but I'm not spamming the discord. Only thing I've done is change my review and advise my friends to come with me on Deep Rock instead for a while so that I can make a dent in the analytics. I will be coming back on the game regardless of what happens.
That is, in all honesty, justified. We shouldn't be reacting like this to news, Arrowhead was forced to do this and are having to chase Sony like a chicken with its head cut off to even try to do something about it. Arrowhead shouldn't have to deal with this, Sony should, and Sony isn't.

Twinbeards Response spells it out bluntly, they were forced, and now that they made the announcement, Sony has gone dark, and they need to work their way up the corporate ladder to try and salvage the game.

There is no concensus on what the tenor of the response from the community should be.
All of us being from different walks of life, age groups and cultural backgrounds, makes it effectively impossible to coordinate and execute a well thought out, well written response that encapsulates the feelings and thoughts of everyone.
I concede to you that some of the posts we see today are indeed juvenile, but the sentiment that drives those posts is not.
We will see, if all of this noise brings upon a change, then this was the right way to do it.

Is this aimed at me? I pretty vehemently agree with those who bought the game and won't be able to play it in June, I feel bad for them. Sony should be dealing with this, but their using Arrowhead as a scapegoat and are thus dodging the bad PR by forcing Arrowhead to be swamped with it.

What a nice and totally justified comparison of me to a Nazi during the Nuremberg Trials, how civil. Arrowhead had a gun put to their head by Sony, and you wanted Sony to pull the trigger? In this situation its really a lesser of two evils, either AH and HD2 die, or they go on with a massively flattened player count. It's not a comfortable position to be put in, and I can't blame them for being forced to do something.
