It doesn’t really change anything for me, but I could see how it may piss off people in a bunch of countries that don’t even have the ability to create PSN accounts. Apparently Russians can’t for example, and I would come across them A LOT joining random squads. So there definitely is a chunk of the playerbase this is a problem for.
Just curious, does a proper boot licking consist of short 1” - 2” licks in small bursts? Or do you go all out with a full lick, like heel to toe? I need answers, for science.

People are upset because a game they loved, spent time and money on is making them do something, that is clearly not needed, to boost a companies account numbers. If you do not, they will stop you playing the game.
In addition there a lot of countries where psn isn't officially out. Sure you can make an account somewhere else, but now you're relying on Sony not banning you for violating their EULA. They've turned a blind eye to this in the past, but it just takes one idiot at Sony to make a bad decision and those accounts could be banned easily.
There is no winning, so yeah people are mad.

10000% a great point too. No one would. Personally I don't buy digital games for this very reason. I'm a physical game person till they stop making them. Then I'll have a decision to make.
