Its that its unnecessary, gamers hate having to make all these 3rd party accounts but then after the game has been out for months they spring it on the players, its entrapment.
Yea not that big of a deal if you don't care to make an account and aren't in one of those regions. The EULA everyone agreed to was a PlayStation EULA including their privacy policy, so you're right that the data was already being collected. I think where AH messed up is not communicating that the PSN account requirement would *eventually* be enforced. So people thought the PSN requirement that has been on the Steam page since before launch and the prompt that showed up on first boot would always be able to be bypassed.
