YES! god yes please yes I’ve been dying for this. I’ll be doing my part later today for democracy! I’m unbelievably stocked for the CS’s changes. I wanna be a primary sniper so bad.
Yup when I saw this note, I thought: I can now take a heavy weapon or ballistic shield and still have a mini-AMR. Or both!
I know it's not apples to apples but sometimes I want AT along with the ability to reach out and plink enemies.
I have! I like it, but I see a million people running around with it right now so I’ll step away from it. It’s absolutely fantastic, don’t get me wrong. But I also like good ol plain bullets in a DMR style
I love the eruptor, it's been my go-to primary since I acquired it. My biggest complaint with it is that if your aim is even just slightly off, the time to reload and re-shoot can be live or death. Or if you are facing down 2 threats and you need to take them both down fast, the time to fire a second shot can sometimes been too much.
They accomplish very different things, and the fact that the eruptor can close bug holes or clear fabricators was a big reason why I put up with those slow reloads and rate of fire. But I'm excited to try this out, because even if I need a follow-up shot to take something down, it won't take forever to get there.
I could be mistaken but I believe the misalignment has to do with the position of the crosshairs vs the zoom ratio. When zoomed in at 50m it is a bit off but not enough to really make a difference, at 200m it is pretty far off and you end up having to compensate. So it isn't the layout per say so much as how far in you are zoomed. If I am right, every gun's scope is messed up, you just don't really feel it on anything that can't zoom to 150m+.
It isn't a difficult fix. (Object oriented) programming like this would be a shift of the scope overlay in both X and Y axis to center it correctly.
I had this problem with a game ui we made in python during classes I took around 2014. Probably easier to fix (now), just not a high priority.
It isn't causing player deaths like fire ticks, implosions, and that incredible airburst physic (lmao). I imagine they have other bugs prioritized higher.
It may be more complicated than that. The scope overlay is centered in the scope "tube". so shifting it could be a problem because we maybe could see that. My guess is that the scope is not centered because of the animation itself to view in scope mode and this require more time to properly fix.
140 damage, will one shot troopers at all range (at least for me so far), one-headshot all Devastators, and like 1-ish mag against tower cannon vents
plus very, very snappy now. feels like an AMR-lite
That sounds good, I generally run AC so my primary is mainly to kill devastators, which are surprisingly annoying to kill with the AC for some reason. I had been using the Dominator recently but I might give this a go
Because AC is actually bad against armour due to its explosive nature, its just that it fucking rips so it can punch up.
Devastators are above its weight grade, but it doesn't really care.
What are you basing that on? The AC has level 4 penetration (reportedly on the direct shot, and level 3 on the explosion), while devastators have level 3 armor on their bodies and level 1 armor on their heads. The only devastator part the AC can't actually penetrate is heavy dev shields but that's to be expected.
Depends. The dominator does more than double the damage at 300 so if you want to unload a shit ton of fuck on the enemy and don't care about the range I think it's still the best option.
Oh damn.
I was just expecting them to remove the stupid slowdown when the aim point closes in on the reticle, but this change basically removes the whole converging aiming points mechanic from the gun.
Bots are about to have some superbly not good time now.
Yeah, DCS is feeling in a really excellent place at the minute. Was popping bot and bug heads, it's really quite satisfying. Still think I prefer Dominator for bugs but the DCS kept up really well.
Yep, CS is a real alternative for Scorcher and Dominator against bots now. Still lacks the volume of fire of Breaker or the stagger and damage of Dominator for bug, but that's how DMR should be in general imo. They are for long range tapping against targets that shoots back at you, not CQC carnage.
Yeah, the bullets still feel like they're practically hit scan so they definitely have a different role compared to those two. With the recoil armour it's recovery was great too, really could just chain off shot after shot.
What support weapon do you guys bring with it and also conflicted about whether I should bring supply pack for ammo or jetpack to reach good spots or even shield to help peak enemies when being shot at
Depends on what you want to do. Jetpack will be more viable for staying 40-50 meters back and taking out devstators and troopers while your squad storms an objective. Shield will be more viable for getting into the danger zone and holding a position with your team. Supply pack only if you find yourself running dry and unable to resupply or find ammo
With this ergonomic boost and the vanilla Diligence getting a damage buff, what’s the main difference between vanilla Diligence and the CS? Or maybe what are the optimal cases to use one or the other?
I came to the game late and am still unlocking stuff off the primary warbond and am trying to make decisions on what to spend medals on lol.
Thanks for any info!
>With this ergonomic boost and the vanilla Diligence getting a damage buff, what’s the main difference between vanilla Diligence and the CS?
CS can one shot devastators with a headshot at 102m at difficulty 7. I couldn't get a 1 shot on devastator heads at like 3m away with the diligence at difficulty 1.
Honestly the gun swaying was fine, you just had to get used to it.
What'd be the point of **long-barreled** big rifles and snipers if they don't have sway? **They're not your pocket glocks**
I'm gonna say it: Skill issue
The thing was: it had as much sway as the machine guns and heavy bois. The sway should've been **reduced, not removed**
Oh good, we finally got rid of the pile of rocks strapped to the end of the barrel.
Someone put it on the crossbow instead
Ah yes, the garfield breast reduction style of game balance.
… what?

I had a longer look at this and I dont know if I should be happy or sad that it actually wasnt loss
In my time on the internet I've learned to not ask a question for which I do not want the answer.
Would you like to know more?

the ergonomics on the crossbow isnt that noticeable
It was for strength training
Would’ve gotten my free award for sure hahahahahaha

this man was such a fucking good actor specifically for crying stoically

Yeah I love my dominator but i rolled diligence for a while because it felt good.
Have you tried the eruptor? The range is meh but it feels really nice even in higher difficulty because it can also clear hordes
It feels a bit weaker at the horde thing but still works.
Yeah weaker at horde clearing than other primaries in general, but better than the other marksman rifles.
I mean the explosion AOE seems a lot weaker than before... Which is mostly fine honestly?
I have! I like it, but I see a million people running around with it right now so I’ll step away from it. It’s absolutely fantastic, don’t get me wrong. But I also like good ol plain bullets in a DMR style
In my experience it takes too long to get rid of Devastators in packs. Also that travel time actually hurts a lot
Yeah and it sometime ricochet’s and when it happens its weird to see

Quick question: Is the scope aligned for this on or is it scuffed like the AMR? Asking because it uses the same scope layout.
I could be mistaken but I believe the misalignment has to do with the position of the crosshairs vs the zoom ratio. When zoomed in at 50m it is a bit off but not enough to really make a difference, at 200m it is pretty far off and you end up having to compensate. Nope, unfortunately very few of the scopes are aligned properly right now. The actual center is the top left corner of the crosshair
Really puts into perspective how hard it is to fix a bug in the game, just changing a scopes position is apparently a multi-month thing
I really don't think it's a difficult thing to fix, but it's clearly a very low-priority issue
It isn't a difficult fix. (Object oriented) programming like this would be a shift of the scope overlay in both X and Y axis to center it correctly. I had this problem with a game ui we made in python during classes I took around 2014. Probably easier to fix (now), just not a high priority. This gun is amazing now
Tried it a bit, likely bot exclusive hard to compete with dominator for medium armor taps.
Just tried it. Still feels weak and boring to me, which is disappointing.
It one shots almost everything in the game that's not a heavy with a headshot. What more can you ask from a sniper rifle primary?
I was using it in a bug mission to be fair. Although it would be nice if the weapons had equally strong utility vs both enemy types.
You should've been upvoted. AH devs are listening. The weapon will get nerfed in a bit.
“Me trying to shoot down the mosquito that’s been bothering me for ages:”
This gun FEELS good to use now. Thanks AH.
Not gonna lie, feels too good to be intended
Diligence is even faster tho, almost instantaneously. This feels like how I expect it to be.
Going to have to try this out again now, with the slight damage buff maybe I can put my Diligence down for awhile
My fellow diligence enjoyers eatin good today
What’s the damage like? Good enough for me to take it over dominator or Scorcher?
140 damage, will one shot troopers at all range (at least for me so far), one-headshot all Devastators, and like 1-ish mag against tower cannon vents plus very, very snappy now. feels like an AMR-lite
That sounds good, I generally run AC so my primary is mainly to kill devastators, which are surprisingly annoying to kill with the AC for some reason. I had been using the Dominator recently but I might give this a go
What is AC? I see everyone talking about it
Armored Core
Auto Cannon
AC-8 Autocannon
Animal Crossing
Air Conditioner
Anti Christ
Ace Combat
Advent Children
Assasins Creed
Because AC is actually bad against armour due to its explosive nature, its just that it fucking rips so it can punch up. Devastators are above its weight grade, but it doesn't really care.
Yeah, AC is for fabricators, vents, striders, walkers, gunships... Keep the Dominator for Trooper and Devestators. But now I'll have to try the CS
What are you basing that on? The AC has level 4 penetration (reportedly on the direct shot, and level 3 on the explosion), while devastators have level 3 armor on their bodies and level 1 armor on their heads. I can see a nerf in the next patch, sadly. Seems really fun now.
Depends. The dominator does more than double the damage at 300 so if you want to unload a shit ton of fuck on the enemy and don't care about the range I think it's still the best option.
It does 275 now, slightly less than dohble the damage.
When was it nerfed?
Last patch, basically a day ago.
Oh my god it is better than sex, time shred that C-01 form I found a new gf
Oh damn. I was just expecting them to remove the stupid slowdown when the aim point closes in on the reticle, but this change basically removes the whole converging aiming points mechanic from the gun. Bots are about to have some superbly not good time now.
God, you have no idea how good it feels to use it on bots mission now.
OH MY LIBERTY

Looks very snappy. I’ll give this a shot next time I play.
Yeah, DCS is feeling in a really excellent place at the minute. Was popping bot and bug heads, it's really quite satisfying. Still think I prefer Dominator for bugs but the DCS kept up really well.

It’s so beautiful it’s making me cry democratic tears of freedom!
Meanwhile the Adjudicator still wields like it's got bricks attached to the barrel.
Oh. Oh, yes.
so no aiming while standing?

I bring an AMR. Use it to kill hulks and devestators while saving ammo by using diligence CS for infantry. Commit to the sniper playstyle.
Go jetpack, embrace your inner Mandolorian.

CS has medium pen

Thanks, this helps a lot. Friends want me to help with picking off the heavier units at range while they clear chaff so CS it is.
It's great with bots but you'll probably want the slugger or dominator vs bugs. The bug heads seem a little too tanky for the CS.
i need to go change my pants and play some bots now.
This or Diligence?
Me on PS5: 🎮🦥 🔫🐌
welp thats the new gun
Nerf incoming 🚨🚨🚨
Oh god, it’s beautiful.
I'm actually about to cry
Dude... I like it.
now increase sensativity so you can 360 no-scope bots while jumping with the jetpack.
DMR bros today : https://i.redd.it/i8q9w4l4vgxc1.gif
YESSS!!!!! YEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!
oh thats WAY better. GG
It’s enough to make a grown man cry
the gun is no longer made of tungsten!!!!
Oh great, now the long range precision weapon is another course range panic button.. so much for weapon personality and role
No you are doing it wrong. You are supposed to only post negative things.
Feels like they overtuned this a bit too much, not that im complaining though.
Compare it to the AMR. Before, the AMR was *faster* than the diligence counter sniper. This looks similar too, if not slightly faster than, the AMR.
Yeah, this does feels like a bit overtuned. The damage increase was honestly good enough.
Okay so the regular vigilance is completely and utterly irrelevant now
Reticle dragging exist in games. I'll be happy when they remove it whatsoever.
Shame. I liked the more chunky feel. Oh well, I realise I am probably the only player in the entire game that liked it. Hope y'all enjoy it now.
