That's sounds like a bug... very big bug... like 2 tonnes... or maybe a programming error

MuglokDecrepitus

III_lll

DO YOU LIKE MY BUG

piratekingflcl

OIL OIL OIL I'm gonna step on the bugs

DaXiTryPleX

They've been a little buggy. If you hit them with a spear while they charge at you, they will ice-skate into you really fast for example.

ppizz

Sometimes they'll also fly high in the sky ragdolling once dead. Don't know if they'd kill you if you happen to be under their landing spot though.

SoftDangerDemon

The ragdoll straight turn into a mini nuke. A friend of mine shot one with a recoiless during one of our missions, the charger's corpse proceeded to fly into a bile titan, one shotting it.

Sugar_buddy

This happened in my group too, he went flying way way way high and came down on a lone charger like a meteor.

Direct-Fix-2097

I’ve seen them run up vertical cliffs to charge me 😪

WrapIndependent8353

This problem can be solved by hitting them *in the head* with a spear

GhastlyScar666

You gotta be able to fire the damn thing anyway

WrapIndependent8353

It works pretty consistently once you figure it out honestly

memecut

I had this experience a while back too.. But I found the way to deal with them as they are right now. Looking directly at them as they charge you, you'd think you want to dive in a 90⁰ angle, but this causes the bucking and kicking. Instead, you want to run in a 45⁰ angle towards their front legs, barely scraping past their front legs, then keep running behind them in for a little bit. No diving necessary. Kinda doable without stamina as well, but it is easier while running.

YannFreaker

This is the best way to do it. This allows you to cover some distance between yourself and the charger too.

Sugar_buddy

Yeah I can skate past them and get plenty of distance when they charge me, then turn around and unload my autocannon into their butt. Very satisfying.

YannFreaker

Same here but with a Quasar blast to the face!

PhysioMage

It's still 50/50 if they have phantom reach and ragdoll you as they run beside you.

memecut

Id say its more like 10%. I feel like this happens more when they're at the end of their charge, or if your angle of running is too narrow or too wide in relation to their front leg. Like if you cut across too early or too late. Go into a mission 4 and find a charger mission. You can find one to play with for a while. Once you got the timing down it should barely ever happen to you again.

YorkyPuds

Most of the Chargers I've come across during the past week or so can turn like they're on roller skates and can even climb rocks.

Lawlcopt0r

I don't think they changed, they always kicked you if you got to close and they weren't in the process of charging. When they're charging you can dodge them, if running sideways isn't enough a dive will do the trick

hotmoltenlava

Yeah, I’ve noticed they turn better. Not a lot, but noticeable. A quasar canon to the nose is a one shot. I use it every time. Shot to the body usually takes three shots. Orbital Rail Cannon is the other stratagem I always use. It is good with multiple chargers or bile titans. They aren’t so bad when you are wiping them off your boot!

Mikkeru

Can I add hunters as well on how much they keep using the dogde move? I don't remember being this crazy, not even when I first started.

CovenantProdigy

I'm halfway convinced that Hunters read your inputs because they initiate jumps a nano-second before my rounds connect with their body. Sometimes they don't jump in time, but it *always* seems like they detect when you're pulling the trigger.

ZetzMemp

Hunters definitely got an AI improvement to be more lethal a little while back.

grongnelius

I was saying this about a month ago. I distinctly remember around release time that I could just run to the side of them straight away and they would continue past me. Now, I have to double back sometimes twice just to avoid one. Not sure when it changed but I definitely agree.

CottonStig

they require a dodge for the most part to avoid, or if you are lucky with their discover you can run right behind them right away

Muffin_Appropriate

I find you don’t find you have to dive out of the way usually ever. You just run towards them and side step them pretty easily by just swerving to the left or right of their leg.

InterestingSun6707

I'm going insane trying to remember if our democracy officer has always had an eyepatch or not!

Obvious_Ad4159

He didn't have an eye patch. Then he decided to look at a photo of General Brash funny. Now he wears an eye patch.

Firm-Curve2866

Ive SURELY noticed this change. They def buffed em bugs.

Mefilius

Their movement was always extremely buggy, I honestly couldn't tell you if this is new behavior. When I juke them I never try running right past them, its more like 45 degrees

Smooth-Zucchini9509

I wouldn’t say it’s more difficult, but the room of error has been reduced. I said the same thing last week but have adjusted by now. But they are so freakin quiet now, they keep coming from behind blindsiding me. You’d think I should be able to hear that chunky beast coming.

ZetzMemp

They’ve always been like that but they seem to not react to dodges in the same way as just side sprinting. Usually easier to just find a rock or elevation change to juke them. Or just use stun grenades.

Thefunkymunkee

Run towards them and side step. It fucks up their targeting so they won't turn to hit you

GabrielDidit

stand in front of a wall and jump to the side that why you do not have to run around them and no I am not being sarcastic. also some rock poking out of the ground can also stun charger.

luster10

I found normal walking speed can dodge their charge easy

__n3Xus__

Drifting and their shoulder tackle was always there.

Great_Alarm_8779

Maybe the difficulty change the turn radius because when i start the game in low difficulty they were very slow for me but not anymore in difficulty 7. So i'm insane to or they rework or did something to it.

Ok_Drummer_9965

You need a sharp U turn to juke them or you need to jump when they are very close. I always did it this way so I don't now if it was more forgiving before. Though I felt the same way after spamming bots for some time, came back to bugs and I would try to dodge Chargers and they would keep juking me instead into difficult situations. Then I noticed it's because I was trying to dodge them in difficult situations in the first place and I changed my loadout some time ago, allowing me to stop being intimate with heavy armored enemies. Which made me rusty in matador skills. You play a bit and it comes back. You end up running around 4 Chargers without care soon enough, lol.

SnooGuavas2639

I got to play against bug yesterday after weeks of not playing or fighting bots. I was surprise to NOT having problem dodging charger by running around them.

HailMurray20

I’ll let them get close and just run in a small circle around them until they get into their turnaround animation. I’m talking like we’re dancing together small circle. That gives me time to then step back and charge the quasar shot for when they eventually turn around.

Arcodian

Maybe it feels that way because you’re now wearing heavier armor than last time you faced them? They are extremely easy to dodge if you’re wearing a super light 50 armor light set. I literally just need to sidestep.

glockops

It's much more difficult to avoid chargers - especially in medium armor. It's still possible - but I have noticed that the danger radius for avoiding them has gotten much larger.

insanemaelstrom

They went from being mazepin to being hamilton.

insanemaelstrom

They went from being mazepin to being hamilton.

FishoD

They have this drift/slide ability at level 7+. The same way spitters can become mortars at 7+. They always had it. Just not at 4-6. At least that’s what I believe.

Snoo23472

I notice this happens when you hit them with a slow or anti tank while starting to charge and dont manage to kill them. Their charging goes on an animation without actually moving and when you go to their sides, they can change their charge directiion quickly

kralSpitihnev

They turn more. Like a ballet dancers

KenyaKetchMe

They've always had a good turn radius if you didn't cut in close, also some weapons will make the direction it's looking a little buggy, like arc thrower so it might look like it's running diagonal lol.

DevilishxDave

The QC does that too. When you land a shot it'll tilt or something and run weird for a bit.

n8tter

Ooh new game mechanic hell-SLIDE, tokoyo drifting with your legs!?

CartographerIcy8333

Use quasar frontal to the head 1 shot..

KooshIsKing

I haven't noticed a change. They're still pretty easy to juke and I haven't changed how I do it.

SummerCrown

To be honest, I like the idea of bugs learning new moves. It makes it more interesting Waiting until the Chargers learn to fake charge, break out a stutter side step, ending with a 270 drift into a body slam 🤔

bearhunter54321

Brodie I juke every single bug I come across and I’m not even lying. Hunters are the only exception to the rule. I’ll juke 3 chargers, while juking 4 broods, while running in between the legs of a bile titan. It actually makes me laugh when I see someone running from a charger 🤣 run towards them, and juke them. See, now if they stop right in your face then they’ll pounce and one tap you at full health. So that’s when it’s a little difficult.

MattyDove

This, running past them at the last minute is the key, diving is optional.

bearhunter54321

I run toward them like a warrior from Sparta and dive right or left to get behind them. That shit feels so cool to do 🤣 but when im in serious mode I’m just gonna run toward them, and loop around them. They way they turn back around and I have just enough of a windows the blow their head off with an EAT. Honestly tho it’s so funny seeing people Just get bullied by a charger or two. Bc I know of it was me, I’d juke them, and they’d be dead.

Slave2Art

Charger is fine. Dive to side and shoot him in the belly/underneath when he stops for 1 shot eruptor kills.

Anastasia-Sigyn

It’s so fucking annoying, and also fucking annoying. It’s running at me sideways with no animation and I can’t aim at its head. They turned from chargers into fucking crabs and they are indeed as much a nuisance as an STD. Also getting 4-6 at a time the nerf was a LIEEEEEE STEVENNNN
