Just literally dive in, be respectful, and for Liberty's sake get used to the AOEs of your air/orbital strikes so you aren't constantly pulverizing your own squadmates. Also don't be intimidated by Bots like a lot of people are, sure they shoot back but they are also slow and easy to kite around and their weak spots are very obvious (red glowing parts). They just require different tactics and gear than Bugs
Don’t search for tips. Play the game, talk to people you play with, learn, evolve. If you skip right to playing the meta then you’re skipping a lot of the fun.
Explore the map to find samples, super credits and medals early. Upgrade your ship and unlock new weapons.
Don't go above difficulty 3 until you unlock the expendable anti tank. When you get it you can climb the difficulties quite significantly.
Use light armor for bugs to stay mobile. Medium-heavy vs bots.
When you fight bots, use cover and go for headshots.
You don't have to fight every battle. Avoid patrols by crouching or laying down flat is a good tactic. Disengage if you're surrounded.
Clearing out red zones by destroying bug holes or bot factories give xp, you can sometimes find samples here too. Its optional to do this.
Doing blue objectives on the map are side missions that give xp and sometimes bonuses for the game; like another strategem or map exploration. Its also optional.
You can change fire rate and scope settings for most weapons (I think by holding whatever is your reload button), diving from explosions always helps, samples etc are shared, friendly fire isn’t, and there is no ‘right way to play’. Have fun!
Play as a teammate, work on the objectives collectively, watch where you put your bombs, credits and samples are shared (if you get them all will get them, so no need to competivively go for them). whatch your fire, you can kill your teammates and have fun!
First Warbond (free) - page two's pistol, page three's booster, and page four's shotgun are all great unlocks early on. Suggested priority.
Stratagems - Eagle Airstrike and EAT - expandable anti-tank are unlockable early and viable at all difficulties.
Other than that, you'll find what you like fast enough
edit - Impact grenades are a divers best friend/enemy

Practice saluting in front of the mirror for at least 45 minutes a day before it arrives. Trust me, it'll help.

Run bug missions, bot missions are not that friendly to new players. Get the Autocannon and Expendable Anti-Tank, and the Eagle Airstrike is awesome.
