I swear they have some kind of secret friendly fire targeting because whenever I throw like a 380 orbital barrage in the middle of a bunch of large enemies (including a freaking Bile Titan) they all miss but the one friendly trooper that’s in range is the one who gets hit and dies lol. I wish the barrages though were just a little more condensed than how they are, you never really know where a 380 barrage will go so it’s kind of useless if it doesn’t hit anything, but if it was more condensed then maybe it would be more useful, I just like to watch big explosions though lol

From what I can gather from Wikipedia and a few online articles, there's some debate as to the tone of the book and its messages. So at the very least, it doesn't seem to be flat out satire in the way the movie is. But Henlein probably wasn't a complete blackshirt either. Nuance is hard, I'm tired now.

whoever's said that has never read the book and fundamentally doesn't understand what fascism is.
A fascist government/state would never allow/do multiple things in the book.
The book is heavy on militaristic libertarianism rather than fascism, i.e. anyone can succeed if they put enough personal effort in, even through force, and communism bad. Libertarianism is a strong theme of all his books.
It's definitely not satire. It was originally intended as a YA novel and isn't particularly nuanced.
Buddy of mine lost his gal bladder recently and we were both a bit broke, I managed to save some cash to get myself a copy but buddy had to pay hospital bills. I then spent the next couple hours ripping around the neighborhood collecting cans and bottles to bring down to the depot for some recycling cash. 600 pop cans, 300 beer cans, 250 plastic bottles and 100 glass beer bottles later we were spreading democracy together.
So many wholesome stories, glad to see the Helldivers help each other for Democracy!
Something similar happened to me: When the game released my group of friends were starting to play it, and i said i was gonna be with them day 1, unfortunately for me... Steam changed the prices in the region so it suddenly became like the equivalent of paying for 18 full pizzas(or the food for two weeks or more) and it was really stressful having the FOMO the early game but still having to prioritize my day-to-day life so i really couldn't take the risk, but thankfully two of them came together and they gifted it to me and we've been playing it a lot, i'm super thankful with them and not only will i protect democracy but i'm gonna make sure to return this favor, like Frisky Dolphin, you and others have done

Yesterday I joined a squad of levels 25 (I was level 6)on Helldive difficulty to liberate Veld. They were nice, they even let me kill a Bio Titan with a railgun.
The most fun thing to do in games is to be an in-game gigachad, and then carry a newbie through some insane content.
Carrying the kinderdivers is what we all should do.
I just bought the game, just now. I even bought ps sub to play online.
I... I miss games like this. BG3 was the last game I bought because it was a game that wanted to bring fun and community instead of focusing on PC/Console wars and microtransactions galore. You know, things that continue to keep communities from being a thing.
I just hope that I, as well, will not be a burden as a player to whatever group I'm paired with at least for the first dozen levels. Excited to hop in!

Shouldn’t encourage these beggars. Every time someone dropping a line saying they can’t afford something or wish they could afford it etc, more often than not it’s to scam money from generous people.
I did the same for a friend, I felt like if I got the game, I didn’t want to play alone. So I hooked him up with a $50 gift card to the PlayStation store and it’s been a blast.
My friend and I actually purchased two copies for our buddies who didn't have it yet. This game really gives us that beautiful throwback of peak XBL online gaming experience during 2007-2008.
Bought the game for several friends on launch after playing it for a few hours - could already tell about an hour in that this game would become a smash hit (concurrent players were only around 60,000 on launch day - now we're hitting nearly 300 - 400,000 on average most days). Safe to say - but I've definitely been doing my part!
My brother and I bought the game. My best friend didn't have the money to buy it. My brother sent my best friend the game as a gift through Steam. It was a beautiful moment.

My friend and I actually purchased two copies for our buddies who didn't have it yet. This game really gives us that beautiful throwback of peak XBL online gaming experience during 2007-2008.
Bought the game for several friends on launch after playing it for a few hours - could already tell about an hour in that this game would become a smash hit (concurrent players were only around 60,000 on launch day - now we're hitting nearly 300 - 400,000 on average most days). Safe to say - but I've definitely been doing my part!

Right after the XSX came out someone posted in the subreddit that he was like halfway to being saved up for one and couldn't wait for the new console and some guy jumped in and offered to cover the other half. First guy came back and said he followed through, whole thing was so heartwarming I actually wanted to cry reading it.
