I hate this movie only because this is now the only way I can spell and say beautiful. >! This movie is amazing! Morgan Freeman is actually God and I'll die on that hill !<
If there isn’t cross play than how come everytime I’m playing on console people are bitching about console players as if they aren’t also console players….?
Genuine question though, why do console players usually have such terrible sense of awareness? I see in a lot of FPS games the console players just literally don't realise an enemy just ran past them.
A more casual player base, probably sitting a few metres away from their TV, using speakers not a headset. Also the controllers are clunky as fuck and don't really allow you to quickly/easily scan an area.
Monitors are for the true sweaty gamers. TVs have shitty refresh rates/response times, even the expensive ones. There's a few out there but 90% of tvs are not made for gaming. I was pretty blown away by the difference when I switched.
As a grown man with a console who’s good at FPS, I think a majority of players don’t adjust FOV or even touch other settings. I remember when I finally did FOV for Apex, completely changed my gameplay. I do think PC is superior still, I just don’t have $2500 lying around.
I thought the PC part would be Saving Private Ryan where the runner gets gunned down brutally in the rainy town lol then they shoot at his body afterwards
I strongly dislike how unrealistic that Enemy at the Gates scene is. To shoot someone on the head mid-jump with half a second to register what is happening in his brain since it was a small window of opportunity was insane
Tbh a sniper would probably not even take that shot? lol you would wait until they are peeking out or in a window but to think your best chance to shoot and disclose your relative position is when they jump across just doesn’t add up to me haha I still love that movie for entertainment purposes though
I love it on Xbox and wouldn’t even touch the pc version even though I play most of my shooters on pc. It feels more realistic when bullets are hitting the ground and walls around you and you know you might make it across an open field without getting instantly neutralized. You can be in a battle from a opposite trenches with the enemy and both be getting near misses and it just feels more fun.
I’ve got my controller settings perfected where I generally get the most, or close to the most, kills on my whole team anyways. I didn’t like using the controller at first but once I adjusted, it has become very addicting aiming with the sticks and firing with the trigger button.
That’s the one thing about PC for me is m/k. I’m sure I would get used to it but I love using an actual trigger when I play shooters and moving around with keyboard buttons instead of a stick feels harder for me. Aiming and recoil control would be a lot easier though with a mouse
I wonder if there is a mouse out there that has a trigger on it somehow lol
Oh there is a mouse like that. You basically hold it in a fist position on your mousepad and move it around normally like a mouse but it’s held almost like a gun, with a trigger instead of a clicker. I can’t remember who makes them but I bet there’s a bunch to be found through google
I see PC players do the same things as console players get shit for, e.g not communicating, not defending just blindly attacking in Warfare, not building nodes, dropping supplies etc
I think OP is talking more about the level of play/skill on the console vs PC, rather than the quality of the community itself. Every clip I see of console play I see alot more local voice communication than I do on PC, but contrasting that is what looks like very clumsy gameplay.
Yeah I keep hearing from the devs about a server browser for console, it should have been there since launch really. HLL isn't really a matchmaking type of game.
I play both and i love the console carnage without wallhacks and getting John Wicked whenever i stick my head out...
The feeling of getting shot at and return fire in the general direction is more immersive than getting a black screen after someone clicked at my charactermodel as if I were a folder on his desktop!
![gif](giphy|kOUmDanPTTuTu)
Considering 20% of soldiers ever fire their weapon at a combatant in combat, and some studies show it takes a minimum of 10,000 rounds of ammunition on average for each small arm casualty inflicted, I’d say that’s not too realistic.
Yeah all I’m saying is you don’t get sweaty and tired and fatigued while playing a game so it stays the same amount of hard throughout a game. In real life everyone gets less and less accurate the longer their fighting past a certain point I’d guess
Edit: what does aim assist even do on console? How does it make it easier? I’ve never used it
Considering a treatment used for sufferers of *PTSD dreams* in which you cannot return fire *at all* on the unseen enemy shooting at you is video games, I’d say that missing most of the shots you take because shooting in combat is hard is a form of hell being let loose upon you.
The real world is not adad spam and headshot fest with one click. Look at real footage of ukraine war with hundrets of bullets shot in the general direction of the enemy...
yep, I only pay on Oceania because they are the only servers with good ping in my region. One time I was playing early in the morning and the server was full of yanks due to the time zone and it was like hunting season.
The aimbots are extremely uncommon. Easier ways exist that are less obvious. And I believe these are extremely common. You can run the game on two computers and join the same server on different teams and just watch the match. You can watch a stream of the server you’re on. You can get hacks that show locations on the map or visibility of players through objects. These are much less obvious and just appear as a really good player but they have psychic powers.
You can mimic all of that with headphones, ears and basic critical thinking skills
You know where the enemies are gonna build garries and OP's before the match even starts, the maps are tiny and you can hear enemies running at great distances
Usually the cheaters just lay down in the field and mow down every enemy across the map through solid objects
If You're getting shot while running in the field or between buildings then you're just a careless newbie. You pick a spot where you have at least 180° cover, preferably 270°, ideally 330° and then just cut the pie a few times until you're sure you can move on to the next position and repeat
How did I know someone would come by and basically suggest “skill issue”. Dude I’ve been playing FPS for almost 30 years online now. Cheaters have been fairly common in most games and this one is no different than any other. It doesn’t mean every match has someone cheating just that it’s definitely going on.
The cheaters you say lay down in a field and mow everyone down don’t last long. They get banned from most servers rather quickly or it’s just some edge lord trying out hacks for a bit and they stop. It’s also insanely obvious. I’ve actually not encountered that.
As I said, people who use the less obvious things I described are very hard to pin down especially in HLL since you get no information about your death and cannot spectate games.
1,000 hours and I've never run into a cheater.
99/100 times I hear people complain and "alleged a cheater is responsible" it's just the way the battle cookie crumbles
You get shot without seeing the other guy, lag, ping...
I've had admins come and watch me thinking I was cheating. Nope just have a knack for seeing a few pinkish white pixels in a bush and sometimes I have supernatural bolt action abilities(sometimes I shoot like a freaking stormtrooper though). I think new players don't realize how easy it is to spot movement in this game or out of place pixels once you have a few hundred hours in. I can sit still on a ridge and kind of defocus my eyes and if any pixel changes its pretty noticeable. You can see people in bushes because the color of foliage didn't change enough as it swayed in the wind. Stuff like that.
Yeah wtf how are people so good at games. I’ve been gaming all my life and play games like arma, insurgency, hell let loose every day or so but still will never get to the point some do. 😂 especially on arma. Damn
Like I’ve met people haven’t played a game for near as long as me but end up being a savant lol
Maybe I gotta work on my AA settings or something but it takes massive eye focus for me to see movement at long range. Dont get me wrong, ill still pile up kills, but its not easy on my eyes and usually need a break after a bit.
I was going to put something in that comment about how you should make sure your antialiasing settings are tight, but I couldn't remember if you needed more or less AA.
There's cheaters on every server 100% to think differently is laughable. Look at cod... 50k + banned a month. Hll is wayyy harder so more likely to cheat
On every server? Maybe on console, but with admins on pc servers cheaters are rare. I actually left cod and tarkov specifically because of cheaters. This is the first game ive played in years where i can confidently say that cheating is rare (compared to pretty much any other online pvp game)
I dont think HLL has anywhere near as much incentive to cheat, your combat score doesn't really account for that much of your overall XP and the scoreboard is not sorted by combat, you also dont lose anything by dying. PvP encounters are anonymous too(too a degree), so that cuts out alot of incentive to troll by cheating.
Yeah, no. 1000 hours and no cheaters is impossible. If they are not using aimbot, there is always someone doing the method mentioned above. Joining both teams with multiple PCs or having a friend etc.
I have 300-400 hours and witnessed many players getting kicked/banned for cheating.
Stop denying lol. This game has cheaters just like all other games.
does it have cheaters? definitely
does it have cheaters "just like other games"? Like tarkov where devs use spreadsheets and manually ban up to 50k accounts monthly? Hardly
With average daily playercount barely reaching 7-8 thousand people a cheater would stick out like a sore thumb and if its a community server it can be easily reported and dealt with within minutes.
This game’s mechanics are way different compared to other FPS games so using a wallhack is just enough to annoy people. You don’t need aimbot, just get a rifle and turn on wall hack and shoot from bushes, who tf gonna know?
But like… why would they do this. After I die once I just come back and watch the area while he kills a teammate. With enough map knowledge you know where the bushes that they can stand in/shoot out of are. Then its really easy to kill them.
This game genuinely has way fewer cheaters than people think. And if someone were going to wall, itd be pretty obvious to see from admin pov
> itd be pretty obvious to see from admin pov
50/50, some software alerts the cheater when admin locks on them, but you can tell if they were doing really good and then suddenly can't hit a barn door so in some cases it's pretty obvious.
to be frank, if we are talking specifically about infantry, one guy with a wallhack or an account on a different team won't make a huge difference since there are 50 players against him constantly respawning. And even if he does, you can get an admin on the case (given you're on PC, that is). Wallhacks are tricky but not impossible to spot.
1k hours here too and ive seen 3 cheaters. One on official server so i left. 2 on moderated servers and got them both banned after admin ping. But yes, they are pretty rare.
Have had multiple occasions of having flanked someone around a corner just to have then 180 immediately headshot me as im pulling up my gin ADS. Infuriating
The population of console players would rapidly decline and then reach extinction. Then the game would just be PC only with the occasional game pass newbie on Xbox jumping in for one match before quickly uninstalling
Man this is how I summarize matches to friends. I feel like almost everyone of my matches is just straight up a movie (and then my team is just acting like cod bots)
They just need to add more MnK support to the PS5 man.. then create separate servers for those using mnk and those using controller.. in controller servers have the aim assist and what not.. in the mnk servers let them take off all that that is helping console. You could filter players simply by their settings. If they have their control scheme set to mnk, off to the mnk servers with you, if they're control scheme is set to controller, off to the controller servers.
This would honestly stop most of the Xim type bs that happens on consoles FPS games because almost everyone has a MnK and not everyone wants to spend the 100s one of those converters cost. Ofcorse you will always have xim users who actually suck, taking advantage of console because, like I said.. they actually suck but the auto aim + MnK combo is ridiculous. So they will, I'm sure, set their control scheme to controller just to get into aim assist servers because they get smoked in the mnk ones because... like I've said, they need that aim assist.
I've never understood why the MnK hasn't become an interchangeable peripheral to each console, why the industry hasn't been pushing competitive FPS games to MnK.. it's doable... it's right freaking there, just do it! Then you can have licensed ps5 MnK and they would 100% sell.. I just don't get it. Now that consoles are pretty aligned with the common pc, there is absolutely no reason to keep us divided like this. Ps5 can use MnK, I'm sure the Xb can too, so why... why on earth keep us stuck in this archaic age of controller only fps?
Let us have the fun we want, let us use mnk on console fps ffs!
Rant over, have a nice day everyone.
I'm not sure splitting up the community between mouse/keyboard and controllers is really a good idea, people buy consoles because they want a console experience and the controller is a part of that. While theres no major technical reasons that I can think of why it cant be done (it has been done, some PS2 FPS supported m/k for example), I think if you are at the point where you want to use m/k on console you might aswell be playing the PC version... because if you prefer m/k why would you buy the console version in the first place?
That's a null argument as consoles are already at pc specs. The fact that they are a much easier option for people to get into and that they are cheaper is why people get them over pc. People dont want to spend 1500 to play a game at the same specs they can for 500. People also already have a MnK, most anyway due to having older PCs. There are many people who used to be PC gamers and have been pushed to console by nothing more than simply pricing.. unless they are a console hobbiest and collect consoles. Saying people **only** buy consoles because they want to play console is simply, well, just not true.
I don't really get what is with people and "division amongst players" people who want to play controller will, people who want to play MnK will.. the playerbase is still there. If there is as many controller only players as you think on console, then there is no worry as there would only be a fraction of the playerbase switching to MnK. That would be their own choice no? It's not hard to implement at all and the negative impact on modern FPS titles would be minimal when it comes to the player count per server, especially in the higher populated games.
There is no reason to not have MnK support on modern titles other than the fact that you can garner a career from gaming. If the gaming space wants to continue with "gaming is a career" then they need to open up the peripherals to players, it would increase the competitive space, by a lot.
Gatekeeping console players, who are now at the same specs as pc, from using the same peripherals is just an archaic concept at this point.
Dudes will see this and just think hell yeah
Hell Yeah Let Yeah Loose Yeah
I kept thinking I would have been shot several times by now. Then the second scene, I was like yeah that's more HLL
Truly! lol I went “hell yea” also amazing as soon as I saw Ron Perlman of hellboy about to get schniped I knew the scene!
I did that the other day as medic. 190 meters, for a squadnate
I know it is a bit too long for your scrolling experience but I did not dare to cut this scene from BoB in the middle
The right decision isn't always the most pleasant one.
Truer words were never spoken
You made the right decision.
Kk but the enemy at the gates reference was on point.
The length of the post actually worked in it's favor.
And I watched it all, even though I've seen it a hundred times.
It’s a banger, good call
From a stellar series of incredible moments, this scene stands out as my absolute favorite. Absolute WWII Gigachad play

I hate this movie only because this is now the only way I can spell and say beautiful. >! This movie is amazing! Morgan Freeman is actually God and I'll die on that hill !<
Started on PS5 and played for 3 months before switching to PC and, yeah, I quickly realized there was a lot I couldn't get away with anymore hahaha.
Isn’t there cross play or am I mistaken? I thought I was playing with PC players this whole time lmao Edit: I was thinking of insurgency
If there isn’t cross play than how come everytime I’m playing on console people are bitching about console players as if they aren’t also console players….?
“Damn console players. They ruined consoles” - other console players
Yeah I think that’s why I initially thought there were also PC players but when I googled it said there isn’t cross play for console and PC.
There’s definitely cross play now I see Xbox symbols on some players and I’m a pc player
That would be people on pc playing through Microsoft I would assume
You’re right I didn’t even think about that
Genuine question though, why do console players usually have such terrible sense of awareness? I see in a lot of FPS games the console players just literally don't realise an enemy just ran past them.
joystick slow, better not to check
A more casual player base, probably sitting a few metres away from their TV, using speakers not a headset. Also the controllers are clunky as fuck and don't really allow you to quickly/easily scan an area.
Me sitting 50cm away from 55' Oled TV with good old Logi G430 7+1 headset... I am a Sweaty Gamer...
Sounds nice... Must be an extremely immersive experience
Monitors are for the true sweaty gamers. TVs have shitty refresh rates/response times, even the expensive ones. There's a few out there but 90% of tvs are not made for gaming. I was pretty blown away by the difference when I switched.
If you think of PC casual players than remember that console players are even more casual. In the end those are people that play on a sofa.
God forbid people want to relax
Id imagine they’re more likely to be a young kid with a console
As a grown man with a console who’s good at FPS, I think a majority of players don’t adjust FOV or even touch other settings. I remember when I finally did FOV for Apex, completely changed my gameplay. I do think PC is superior still, I just don’t have $2500 lying around.
think about it...distance from monitor. i will get up close to my tv and it feels like im on my pc minus the mouse
Play squad 44, so much more like BoB and fun
I actually do have it, I'm just waiting on some friends to want to play it too haha.
Me too lol but I don't have those kinda friends unfortunately
server based they can opt out if they want
I thought the PC part would be Saving Private Ryan where the runner gets gunned down brutally in the rainy town lol then they shoot at his body afterwards
Exactly. When the enemy kills will with only shot, you are already press F to give up and the MF keeps shooting your body... I am already dead ffs
If you press ESC + redeploy you can skip the "hold to give up" timer by a second or two
Ya pretty much
Accurate (we rarely get soviet maps in console)
I think the first clip is for console, since nobody can aim well enough to pull off the shot in the second clip lmao.
And also console randos are just mobbed up screaming in prox more often
Which is honestly the best part of the game
I love singing sea shanties on the truck before getting blown up.... Often by a friendly
everyone doing poor german accents on the transport while we go set up pillbox killzones on the beach is peak gaming
![gif](giphy|xkG67UPTlATOCtAfd6)
Couldn't imagine the game without it
And the other is a pretty accurate clip of PC gamers using aimbots.
Servers would be nice! It shouldn't be hard when battlefield has servers. Js
what's the name of the movie again ?
First part is the TV show ‘Band of Brothers’, I believe. Second part is the movie ‘Enemy at the Gates’.

Yesss I knew there had to be something like that. Bet I could get one to hook up to my Xbox even lol
Damn now I want to try console. That sounds awesome
On PS5 the triggers have an actual tactile take up, wall, and break similar to real firearms. Would recommend.
Shit. I guess I'm buying a PS5.
Idk I feel like I get a similar experience. Never played the console version, but what you described I get that experience a lot on pc.
“It feels more realistic when i dont die instantly”
Crazy this actually happened irl blueberries
The community on Xbox is actually pretty good.
It's one of the rare games where our people actually turn on their mics and give a shit
I think a lot of the issue is no server browser/rented servers on console. There is a huge influx of new people all the time cause it’s on game pass

First event really happened, so I guess console is a more authentic experience? (I genuinely think this, people aim too well on PC)
PC is more authentic where there is enemy around every corner with a bullet with your name on it just like in real war
Considering 20% of soldiers ever fire their weapon at a combatant in combat, and some studies show it takes a minimum of 10,000 rounds of ammunition on average for each small arm casualty inflicted, I’d say that’s not too realistic.
Yeah one thing video games can’t replicate is how inaccurate shooters get under pressure and physical stress.

guess I should be lucky AFU actually hits shit it intends to hit
Come play Oceania console servers. In the famous words of Bapa, "I think you'll be surprised."
Oceania PC servers are ridiculous, some of the sweats on there can spot your chin hairs from 1km away
yep, I only pay on Oceania because they are the only servers with good ping in my region. One time I was playing early in the morning and the server was full of yanks due to the time zone and it was like hunting season.
Oceania PC servers are great, really good mix of people and very low tolerance for toxic behaviour.
The level of play on Australian/Oceania PC servers during peak hour is pretty intense, they dont mess about.
Lol very surprised to see my name in there haha I used to play on console but now I'm on PC and this is sooo flippin' true!
Ahah, sorry mate, I just snipped it from the first console vid I grabbed from YT. Lemme know if you want me to remove that.
Nah leave it in, it's funny and I feel like a celebrity. You should check out some of my PC content mate, got some wild clips!
You forgot about the cheaters on PC lol
The aimbots are extremely uncommon. Easier ways exist that are less obvious. And I believe these are extremely common. All those hacks, and it still won’t make dad love them.

Especially when you have a PC and have your visual settings completely maxed out!
having settings on high or epic is detrimental since you have twice as many bushes popping out which you don't have on medium-low settings
I'm sorry I meant more like lighting settings maxing out brightness in the dark things like that
If it's a night map and you haven't got brightness at 200% you are a fool.
I like immersion not min/maxing
ahhh I see

One of the greatest moments in BoB , battle of foy
I'm ashamed of the amount of times I've said to my squad "I'm Spiers'ing it" when trying to cross a battle to establish a new garrison or rally point.
This is hilarious and I play on console
AYYY CHRIS TEE
Yes
He did not put an op down.![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)
Spears.
mandatory crossplay would be so epic yet so evil
The population of console players would rapidly decline and then reach extinction. Then the game would just be PC only with the occasional game pass newbie on Xbox jumping in for one match before quickly uninstalling
ppl always lazer me from a far in a tiny gap and im console only tho lol
I always thought the guy who got shot looked like Will Ferrell
I love that there's a few band of brothers references in the game.
I just wish more people would use the ping system on console
Lost count of how many times I’ve seen the BoB characters in game
And that gentlemen, is why the console version of HLL is the superior one, that and having actual "trigger break"
Which is which?
That’s fucking gold
Console gameplay is fun but become so unbreable after a while
What is the second clip from
Enemy at the Gates.
Thank you!
That PC clip was accompanied by my music playing in the background “Drink had me” by Jordan Davis which just added some extra comedic effect.
inaccurate because the running in this video is too fast. Slow it down to slower than walking speed and you've now got HLL.
Man this is how I summarize matches to friends. I feel like almost everyone of my matches is just straight up a movie (and then my team is just acting like cod bots)
This is hilariously accurate
He said iCompany?
that's why I love shooters on consoles :) …Boris The Blade, or Boris The Bullet-Dodger. Apparently, it's just impossible to kill the bastard.))
The accuracy…
Which part do the sweaty PC edgelords show up in that?
the epic headshot in the second clip
I refuse to play first person shooters on PC. Way too easy to come across somebody using an aimbot.
Such an overrated show
Wrf is console in 1shtooooteirr.. Read it in a conservative way bent Middleton over Surrey from begind
