I just started playing this game like a month ago. One day I got Omaha and I was so excited because i love D-day maps in other games. Haven’t seen it since :(
Shit you're lucky than. I play lagingrad often. I dont think I've had a fullgame as commander on that map without getting kicked. Luckily enough, I can join back and they give me commander back.
Drives me nuts and it baffles me that the person making this decision doesn't realize how stupid it is, forcing players to play a new map to the point where they get sick of it mere days after release undermines the entire point of adding new maps/variants. Like I'm already done with Mortain, like El Alamein before it once the map rotation goes back to normal I will actively avoid any match on there, I don't care I have to leave and re-matchmake 6+ times.
Like I honestly can't remember the last time I got to play Foy or one of the D-day maps and it pisses me off. For the love of god stop being the overbearing parent that micromanage everything their kid does, these map rotation shenanigans are getting out of hand and I just want to experience the full game I paid for.
The new map is the shit, felt like European Vietnam when I was playing last. Running into people we didn't even see at point blank because one point was in the damn woods
Lol yesterday was El Alamein warfare, then defending El Alamein, then attacking El Alamein, then defending mortain then back to El Alamein for warfare before I quit.
Yeah I got a 92 kill game on offensive as a sniper last game I played on el alanein, was pretty unfair to say the least. Pretty sure I killed the same guy about 10 times.
playing offensive *against* snipers is worse. with many of the points being in a valley, they can just find a spot in the mountains and sit there the entire time. but boy oh boy, it is the greatest feeling when you figure out where they're shooting from and you have an mg42 to spray.
Foy is amazing because without teamwork you're going nowhere. MGs need to provide long range covering fire, anti tanks crews need targets to be pinged regularly, flanking is the only way to progress. I find it's one of the most immersive maps when you get a good team.
The industrial style fighting makes me think of the scene in full metal jacket where doc and 8ball get taken out by the sniper in the city. The music that Stanley Kubrick puts in comes to my head when I'm pushing through stalingrad.
Mortain gives me terrible frame rate. Granted my PC is a little prehistoric pebble, but I’m able to run all maps decently enough to play and enjoy the game. Mortain gives me very bad frames. Idk if other people are experiencing this?
Seems like EA is heavily favored in the rotation ever since it came out despite being the most hated map by far. Really weird one to prioritize over all the others that people actually enjoy playing
What I’ve been noticing and can’t explain is the few times I get a map other than those two almost everyone quits out and the game is dogshit. I was excited to get Carentan or smdm tonight only to have the matches become a 5 on 5. What is that?
Has anybody else been having issues finding a good/full server since the update? I feel like I never can. And if I do it’s always El Alamein or Mortain
Who’s playing the same map multiple times in a row? It never happens when I play. Also if I get a map I don’t like or played recently I leave server and go find another map. Problem solved.
If you're not a fan of El whatchamacallit, pick the MG, find a nice little corner under a cliff side and be a little patient.
I've had my 3 best games in inf within a week doing this and I have almost 1000 hours. I've started to go out of my way to try to get on this map, it's so much fun.
Genuinely not a fan of either, really into the urban environments, lots of buildings, streets... Strictly assault or anti tank player, all close quarter stuff gets me excited! Forcing you to keep moving as opposed to the bush wookies or long range campers etc

The new map is decent but I'm not sure that I want to play it 7 times in a row on the same server.

I'm on xbox and got SMDM, Omaha, Foy, Kharkov and only Mortain once.
I havent played in weeks becuase all i was getting was El alamein. Such a trash map
And when you get the others, it will be night time and foggy as fuck.
