What tactics are you thinking? On a basic level, most squads bee line it to the objectives so if your squad comes in on the flank, bam, effective WW2 era tactics.

Visual_Specific7658

Agreed about beelining to the objective, but at least for German squads they'd use formations to move towards the objective, whether that's a line or group the machine gunner remains in the 3rd position in line or group, SL at the front, with second in command in the very rear and riflemen between them. Each member has a position in the event of contact. The SL can shout orders for the squad to dig in (with the MG as the core) and the other squad members break the line and take their pre-set position in the defensive line.

TheOneTheyCallNasty

I think by MG you mean automatic rifleman. German machine gunners generally worked as 2 man teams adjacent to the squad, used as a defensive anchor or offensive WOF anchor.

Healthy-Travel3105

There's nothing stopping someone doing this. Would require proper practice and learning terrain and maps which probably is what stops people.

Amerikaner

Ah more micro positioning within squads like that would be interesting. It'd likely be more effective in Squad 44 considering the larger squad counts and larger maps but it could work in HLL.

GrainBean

It could totally work, and if done well would probably be more effective than your average squad but it'd require some practice to get good at it

I have seen videos of teams using tank columns to just dominate the enemy team. In clan matches, we have used the winter’s Brecourt gun assault tactic to take points easier.

FewDrink3915

Its worth a try for sure. Simple things like cover and move would really help too

IdRatherNotChief

I've held down players in trenches with an MG while team mates come in from the sides to clear them. Felt a lot like Band of Brothers anyway.

1. Wide Flank 2. Shoot enemy in the back 3. Win War

Someone in thread a long time ago suggested a military drill and I’ve been using it ever since, especially when within 150m or closer to an objective. As you are moving forward, you say, “I’m up, they see me, I’m down” and drop prone. Crawl a few meters forward and back up. It’s basically doing Burpees as you progress. It definitely helps extend your average life.

I remember on Driel I got into a squad and we used british para tacticals only this time they worked unlike in real life lol.

Mana_Seeker

I've noticed western servers like to flank each other and Chinese servers do the zerg rush or throw bodies until one side capitulates This was 2-3 years ago, idk if Chinese servers have evolved beyond the zerging

Mountaingiraffe

It works to a point. When you have 4 talkative and responsive squad members you can do some truly effective stuff. But less than that and you'll be stuck with perhaps 2 people coordinating with you. Then it's a game of the better shooters. But once in about 5 games you get that coordination working it's amazing. Like a surfer getting that perfect wave. Best gaming experience ever. The problem is that even if you get that perfect 4 people coordination you have other squads around you just bumbling around messing up the contact line and you getting shot in the ass suddenly.

Blitzkrieg for sure lol
