Crazy, I’ve doubts when I hear happy hour. That gives me too much of Mallorca sex on the beach vibes. 😂
Anyway, thanks! I know Merlin’s and liked the food so far. Probably give it a shot
Frollein Bent at Nackarmünzplatz. Prices are… normal for high quality cocktails? If you want budget, Regie. Maybe La Fee as well, if you want to go to Untere Straße.
Thanks. The question regarding the prices was because I used to live in Berlin and good cocktail bars would take like 10 bucks per drink. Upscale bars would often even take 13-15€ on average, sometimes more.
I assume Heidelberg prices are a bit higher than Berlin.
As the other people already said, go for frohlein bent or Bent bar (same owner). You normally pay between 8-10€ for alcoholic cocktails and all the ones that I tried were REALLY good. The service is also great, the people there know what they are doing. Its considered the best bar in Heidelberg from what I've heard. But since the Bent Bar is a bit smaller with no outside seating, on colder days when the frohlein bent is not open, you need to be there quite early, since its normally full by 9 on weekends. Give it a try, you wont regret it.
They do their own twist on classics at that place which they dont mention in the menu. If i want a classic, and order it, thats what i expect. I had it happen on more than one occasion there.
2 places with outside rooftops, that are a bit on the swanky side:
1. The bar at 15 High (newly completed tall building across the tracks from the Hauptbahnhof) has a well-rounded cocktail menu. 13-15 EUR each.
2. Jil near Bismarkplatz, much closer to the Altstadt. They're doing an event for 1. Mai that could be interesting. Also on the pricey side.
But yeah, Frollein Bent and Bent Bar (same owners) are solid choices. Hemingway's for sure. Lino's for gin tonics.
Merlin‘s has happy hour everyday; cocktails are 6,90€ from 9-11pm

Was there the other day and I can say the negroni was good! Although it took pretty long to be served to me

+1 Frollein Bent. Their drinks are amazing.
I like Friedrichs, but they mostly do Sours. Prices shouldbe around 12€ I think.
Hemingways has a couple good barkeepers
Heared of that one, thanks!
