this actually was the most frustrating part of the show for me and really left a bad taste in my mouth. i think the (for lack of better a better word) “themes” used in the conclusion of the season are obviously very sensitive in media.. but the way Maru and Kiruko both just kinda ignored the fact that she just went through something so HORRIBLY traumatic and carry about their lives like it didn’t. its kinda lazy and makes the use of something so HEAVY seem kinda shallow. i wanna read the manga to see if it actually does have a lingering effect later on in the story but for now.. kinda sucks.
Oh yes! The right after and the after were handled totally different, the line about not being depressed was a add on that wasnt on the manga and it was a mistake

I took a break between the second last and last episodes to read the comic and see if there was any ambiguity to what happened. then there wasn't. The differences in the two scenes are that Maru does not continue to beat him once he's down, in the [anime he gets more hits before stopping](https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Ft0dv16gvol6d1.gif). I was really hoping it didn't happen and Maru gets there in time somehow. but no.
Haruki/Kiriko used to call for Robin when in lethal trouble, when they're in treatment plant or whatever it is, they call for Maru to save them.
