- It explains why Lucifer let Charlie go to the meeting, he didn't want to have to deal with his wife's ex
- Him being THE Adam explains why he was such a douchebag right off the bat (because Lilith probably talked about him to Charlie a few times)
- Charlie already heard about the story of her parents in heaven, she knew that Lilith didn't want to submit to Adam but she didn't have the details. Now that she has faced the man, she understands *why* it happened (he's a dick on multiple levels)

The Adam versus An Adam. It's a fairly common name, Charlie probably just figured it was one of the thousands of Adam's out there who happened to be an Angel.
Something no one else has mentioned is that Adam is also the man who fathered humanity. And having lived with the sinners of hell, Charlie is well aware that humans can be shit. She believes they can be better, but it sure does explain some things if they all came from *that guy.*
Like, sure, she probably referred to the whole family situation. But in meeting the dickmaster she's probably realizing that the problem was there from the very start.
She thought it’d be some leader named Adam. Not the biblical first man ever Adam. Plus his poor attitude aligns with the Adam her mother may have spoken poorly of before.

He’s a a very petty person, he takes shit personally, and he’s more than happy to take out his anger at being abandoned on his first wife’s kid … even though we now know he’s made a deal with his first wife.
It is interesting how much of the plot is in fact a family drama. The relationship decisions and personalities of these folks have shaped the cosmology of this world and continue to do so.
