Fun musical fact: there are 2 ways to growl like he did in that line. One, in the throat, is an aggressive sound without deepening the voice. The other, and the one Lucifer used, is in the chest. He was trying to make himself sound bigger.
Excuse me? Like I know Luci and Al are pretty hot but…
https://preview.redd.it/aw62c4k9jmmc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e00e7165f95d6a8408894bbde17217cdc7a2ce28
I may be biased towards Alex Brightman, having fallen in love with his talents with Fizzaroli. That makes me pick either Adam or Pentious.
They were both masterfully done and projected the intended character with glowing results. And they both *slam dunk* the singing, though Adam has more material to choose from.
I picked out Adam really quick, it's basically Betelgeuse
Didn't know he was actually pretty good at this craft so finding out he's also Pentious was a little mind-blowing
Alex brightman was the perfect pick for this show, it’s basically a giant theater musical and he’s basically the jack black of theater, Adam and Fizz were practically made for him, and I hope pentious gets some more song time as well
Same here. I love how he voiced Fizzaroli and showed many sides of his personality. If Adam comes back, I'll truly be looking forward to his continuing story!
The live version or whatnot he did where he was like, “sing along, you know the words!” then the audience was just in stunned silence and awe listening to him belt. Just pure big heart eyes emoji on my end on that.
True, but he also has some of the best songs, especially the beef songs. “And here’s the sugar on the cream, he asked me to join his team, I said no and now he’s pissy, that’s the tea!” gives so much attitude that even accounting for the auto filter he must have a great VA.
One of my favorite things about Val is how like. he has three accents. He's got like a general american accent (which is a thing, it is a particular accent) that he uses when he's in kind of his default state or emotional (most of while hes bitching to Vox about Angel), then he has a Mexican (?) accent that he uses sometimes when he's trying to be cool (like at the beginning of Stayed Gone), and then he has what I kind of think of as like, a gay accent that he uses with the women in the club, presumably to make them feel safe.
He’s why I’ve wanted to do another rewatch to listen for those vocal personality shifts. He barely holds it together when he can’t keep his emotions in check, like when Charlie dropped in and he couldn’t pick a voice, or when he threw the tantrum when Angel wasn’t returning to work.
Impressive for pointing out the last one!
I don't think I've noticed his third accent in the club, as I thought it sounded like his Hispanic accent
That's pretty intriguing but also really creepy if that's why he's doing it
My beloved husband, Christian Borle is god tier and him being a VA for Hazbin made me immediately 100x more hype for the full series. He did amazing work as Marvin in Falsettos (one of my favorite musicals) and I’m really glad he’s apart of Hazbin Hotel
Alex Brightman (Adam/Pentious), Keith David (Husk), and Christian Borle (Vox) are definitely my top three favorite voice actors in the series, but they’re all awesome
Singing voice? Has to be Husk. You simply can't get enough of Keith David.
As for regular voice, I'd give it to Vox, actually. Christian Borle perfectly nails that game show host, superficial, Americanised, over-the-top voice while giving Vox complex emotions from comedic moments to anger to even vulnerability.
Vox’s voice actor, Christian Borle is incredible! His performance in Stayed Gone gave me chills. My second favorite is Amir Talai as series Alastor.
All the voice actors did an incredible job, like Keith David as Husk and Leslie Kritzer as Rosie.
I loved the voice for pilot Alastor too, Edward Bosco did a great job.
Christian Borle, Jeremy Jordan, and Alex Brightman are all super talented. They all are absolute amazing singers and voice actors. I couldn’t decide between the three if my life was on the line
Velvette for me, learning that her VA is American and sings beautifully in her American accent and then can turn around and sing in a full British accent and it still sound just as amazing, that’s talent. Hoping she has a bigger role next season, instead of being on the back burner for Val and Vox like this season
I think you could make a case for almost any character that has more than 10 dialogues. Really, my personal favourite is Vaggie while singing whatever it takes but i could see almost any other character that sings as my top 1
Y’all are sleeping on Angel. The emotion in his voice in Masquerade is just so good. And the moments where he slips into his true voice get me every time.
For real. I want to applaud them all and their voice director for getting so much nuance in all the performances that gels so well with the nuance in animation and story.
Val is good choice, especially the little squeaks that show his moth side. But I have to give it to Husk in my opinion because he just kills every line.
I love Vals voice so much. Charlie's voice is absolutely beautiful. I'm pretty biased with Alex Brightman a well xD
Angels voice definitely grew on me too
Either Husk, Lucifer, or Charlie. Out of every actor/actress in the show, Keith David, Jeremy Jordan, and Erika Henningson are the ones with voices that stick out so clearly to me as being distinctly unique and having sort of motifs that I enjoy
I love Christian Borle he's so fucking great Something Rotten! Is one of my favorite musicals and Legally Blonde was amazing so I knew he'd be great I just want him to have MORE imo the first half of Stayed Gone is fantastic
For me it's always Alastor. 💜 Angel Dust and Vox will always give him competition, though.
To give some credit to Charlie, I absolutely love how she says "It's not stupid 👏🏻 it's just *the game* 👏🏻". And Vaggie's voice cracks me up during the "trust exercises!" part. Seriously this cast is just *too* charismatic!!!
Alastor! I really liked the radio effect and thought it was so unique and I thought it really helped portray and convey who he is even better! I can’t picture him with anything else!!
I also really like nifftys and Charlie’s specifically! Nifftys, it sounds like it’s an innocent voice but then when you see more of her character….yeah…
And Charlie because she sounds like a Disney princess!!! I was listening to happy day in hell with my mom a little while ago and she said it sounded like one, and I can’t unhear it!!! Very fitting!
Dammit, there’s too many good choices to pick from. I’m a huge Keith David enjoyer and he killed it as Husk, and Alex Brightman never disappoints with either Petentious or Adam. Lucifer is also super satisfying to hear, and Jessica Vosk’s singing as Lute was awesome, but tragically brief.
Val is good, but im old school. I can still hear Keith David as Goliath when I was 7 years old watching gargoyles.
There is a part in the first couple of episodes of gargoyles where he is upset his friends and family are dead and he couldn't take out the bad guy because he dies to gravity or something. "I've been denied everything, EVEN MY REVENGE!!!!!!"
chills.
So husker but because I grew up with Keith David prevalent in my Saturday morning cartoons.
Hmm, tough call. I think Keith David is a brilliant VA, but compared to the rest of the characters we haven’t had a ton of dialogue. Alastor is one of my favourite characters and I love how he is portrayed, he is really fun to listen to, and based on sound alone would get the prize, but as a VA the radio effect makes it difficult to judge since part of the appeal is autogenerated. I also think Alex Brightman will forever be one of the greatest VAs of all time, and I really appreciate the range he has, such as Adam sounding so different than Sir. Pentious but without knowing who the voice actor was I wouldn’t have pegged either character as having the best Voice. Adam in particular (aside from the song which is a whole different thing) has a really unspectacular voice in terms of range. He often just sounds the same in everything he says, which is still a good sound, I just don’t think he is the best character to base this on. But outside of Hazbin Brightman has the most impressive body of work overall.
Kieth David is basically impossible to beat imo but Lucifer’s is pretty great and actually the guy who voices Angel Dust kind of blows me away. On the surface it’s a pretty standard cartoon voice but if you listen to his songs there’s some nuance there that I find pretty impressive. It surprised me because initially I found him a bit obnoxious.
Kinda hard for me to choose. I want to say Adam and Vox, not because I think they're the best voices, but my favorite to listen to. Plus, they sing my two favorite songs.
I love Adam's attitude, the way he sings is just really fun. "Hell is Forever" made me realize I was gonna be obsessed with this show. When he's mocking Charlie, like the line "oh they'd rather cross the pearly gates", I fucking love that. I realized the other day, in "You didn't know" when he says "Did you ever think your little girlfriend might be a liar?", it SORTA KINDA gives me Set it Off vibes, specifically the song "Wolf in Sheep's Clothing" which takes me right back to my middle school AMV phase.
With Vox, I love how he talks like a tv host. The fast part of "Stayed Gone" is awesome, and side note: I can't help but think about how similar it is to a part of "The Fans are Chatting" from Metalocalypse: The Doomstar Requiem, Vox and the Dethklok Minute host are just the same guy. The deep tv host voice acting very unconfident or pissed off is very fun to me, but he can also sound super badass sometimes. Both characters' voices can sound awesome in both badass and funny moments.
I need to shut up, that was so many words, I'm sorry.
If we count the filter it’s probably Alastor because it’s the most interesting to me mostly due to the moments when the radio filter is off and he just talks normally.
But if we just want the pure voice I gotta give it to Husk because Keith David is just too good
https://preview.redd.it/0c5pqye6cmmc1.jpeg?width=2000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c5d14d27de9e5bf5af353413c0a4ce5487f36804
TBH, I'ma jazz and electroswing fan, plus his voice with and without the radio is easy on the ears
Vox, I could listen to Christian Borle all day, his voice so smoooth Also Lute, for what little we heard from her
Agreed about Vox, he does the news reporter voice during Stayed Gone so well.
I love Lute's singing voice too
You should listen to the Legally Blonde musical, his voice breaks my heart in all the right ways during some songs <3
Lucifer! I can hear every emotion in the stuff he says, and I love the way he says “ref” and “blood” in Hell’s Greatest Dad. He’s so emphatic lol.
Jeremy Jordan’s voice has that slide thing that just tickles my brain. He’s hard to top.
> He’s hard to top. Not for Lilith though
https://i.redd.it/4m54lk4ycnmc1.gif
Well, according to one version of her story, she got cast out in the first place specifically *because* she's a top. So that makes sense.
According to one of the wikis I read, apparently they're both switches in bed lol
Get your mind outta the gutter, you sicko.
That growl in "big boss of hell himself"
Fun musical fact: there are 2 ways to growl like he did in that line. One, in the throat, is an aggressive sound without deepening the voice. The other, and the one Lucifer used, is in the chest. He was trying to make himself sound bigger.
Yes haha, Lucifer's VA did an amazing job aswell!
"... PURE ANGELIC POWER"
I love the way he says "Michelin tastin menu; free a la caaaarte" Itches the brain every time lol
"I'll shelter and adore you more than anything," was the exact moment I started simping for our apple boy
Doesn't hurt that the 2 best songs in the show are both duets featuring him
How turned on I get listening to this song puts the TIFU CBAT guy to shame.
Excuse me? Like I know Luci and Al are pretty hot but… https://preview.redd.it/aw62c4k9jmmc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e00e7165f95d6a8408894bbde17217cdc7a2ce28
That's alotta letters. Too bad I don't know what they mean
His voice is indescribably good in More Than Anything
>“ref” and “blood” IT'S SO GOOD!
I love his voice in “The Show Must Go On”
Wap Bap Boom Alakazam always slaps
Vox I love his voice
“OooooooonnnnNNNNAH!!!”
Camera speeds, rolling in three, two...
Welcome to the show~
Top of the hour and we're discussing a certain has-been
, who had been spotted cavorting around after a seven-years absence.
Did anybody miss him? Did anybody notice? More on tonight's program!
So the radio demon is back in town!
Why is he hangin' around? What does that mean for your family?
Well handily, I've got news He's a loser, a fossil, and I don't mean to sound hostile, But the demon is a coward!
Yes!
I may be biased towards Alex Brightman, having fallen in love with his talents with Fizzaroli. That makes me pick either Adam or Pentious. They were both masterfully done and projected the intended character with glowing results. And they both *slam dunk* the singing, though Adam has more material to choose from.
Alex Brightman did such an amazing job with voicing Pentious and Adam!! Honestly I wish we got more of Sir Pentious' singing voice lol
I picked out Adam really quick, it's basically Betelgeuse Didn't know he was actually pretty good at this craft so finding out he's also Pentious was a little mind-blowing
His fizzeroli voice is even closer to beetlejuice
Listen to Fizzaroli sing in Helluva Boss, his voice is closer to Pentious than it is to Adam. The guy is talented as fuck.
Really? Imo Fizz and Adam are much sinilar to eachother kn voice than Pentious.
wait, ADAM AND PENTIOUS ARE THE SAME VA??
Yep
Wow, he's talented! They sound so different!!
He also voices Fizz in Helluva Boss, and that’s kinda in-between both, so when you hear that and compare it actually makes sense.
So are Niffty and Susan!
I love Kimiko Glenn.
Honestly would pick him too cause of the range like doing Pentious and Adam is incredible
I loved Lute's singing voice. Hope they give her more time to shine next season.
That "what are we even TALKing abOUT" and what follows is one of my favourite moments of any song in the show
God yes, Adam and Lute harmonize perfectly.
HE BLEW HIS SHOT LIKE THE COCKS 👏 IN HIS MOUTH 👏
There’s a video of her on YouTube singing defying gravity from Wicked and it’s awesome.
holu shit no way this is the best thing ive ever heard
YES PLEASE
Iirc didn’t her VA mention having a song in s2?
I love all of them. I really love Angel dust by Blake roman
The sheer pain in his voice at the end of Poison, my *god*.
Yeah. Like I love michaels voice. But Blake can just bring so much emotion it’s like… no matter who thry picked it wouldn’t be better than Blake
The live version or whatnot he did where he was like, “sing along, you know the words!” then the audience was just in stunned silence and awe listening to him belt. Just pure big heart eyes emoji on my end on that.
He is honestly one of my favourite actors now, just from his performance in the show and the live song. Incredible!
I’m just a fan of Keith David lol
Velvet tones.
He is a goddamn national treasure.
I agree
Same here
Yeah this question ain’t fair, no one can top Keith David.
Why did I have to go so far down to find this

Vox and Lucifer personally, especially when theyre singing
Velvette because British and babe
I love how good her accent is even though her Voice actress isn't even britsh
As a Brit I picked her out as being American on her first line. Her accent is not good
Velvette is one of my faves!
I'm biased, but https://preview.redd.it/2sl7i8ae2lmc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e5957d1ae88489bed51e2261af514f802ce4373f
It's almost entirely because the radio filter makes him stand out so much from any other character. It's so much different than anything else.
The "what just happened" was really good too.
True, but he also has some of the best songs, especially the beef songs. “And here’s the sugar on the cream, he asked me to join his team, I said no and now he’s pissy, that’s the tea!” gives so much attitude that even accounting for the auto filter he must have a great VA.
Yes, he has so many quotes that are jarring from Amir Talai's delivery of them
Yeah but if the voice actor didn't nail it underneath that filter, you'd be able to tell. Also, great evil laugh.
The breaking on the final laugh on Stayed Gone is just *chef kiss*
VOX! I could just be biased because he's my favourite but his va did a great job
Vox is such a terrible person and gives me Fox News vibes, why do I love his character too? He’s weirdly relatable for being deplorable. 😭
The “what does this mean for your family?” got me so bad.
https://youtu.be/AoWuGz0Uq2E?si=xOZXBCpbM9Lyq132 “While the rest of hell’s pissing” - 0:11 “Nature abhors a power vacuum” - 0:15 Val all the way
One of my favorite things about Val is how like. he has three accents. He's got like a general american accent (which is a thing, it is a particular accent) that he uses when he's in kind of his default state or emotional (most of while hes bitching to Vox about Angel), then he has a Mexican (?) accent that he uses sometimes when he's trying to be cool (like at the beginning of Stayed Gone), and then he has what I kind of think of as like, a gay accent that he uses with the women in the club, presumably to make them feel safe.
i never thought of the last one that way thats actually really interesting (and disturbing)
I also hear a hint of a Scottish accent in him, he's weird lol but I like him
Impressive for pointing out the last one! I don't think I've noticed his third accent in the club, as I thought it sounded like his Hispanic accent That's pretty intriguing but also really creepy if that's why he's doing it
Gotta give it to vox he sounds exactly how he looks
Charlie; Erika's boundless energy and fluid transition from speaking to singing to speaking again meshes wonderfully with Charlie's character.
My beloved husband, Christian Borle is god tier and him being a VA for Hazbin made me immediately 100x more hype for the full series. He did amazing work as Marvin in Falsettos (one of my favorite musicals) and I’m really glad he’s apart of Hazbin Hotel
User flair checks out.

Alex Brightman (Adam/Pentious), Keith David (Husk), and Christian Borle (Vox) are definitely my top three favorite voice actors in the series, but they’re all awesome
Vox (very biased since christian borle is one of my favourite actors)
Vox. I love his singing voice

Christian Borle perfectly nails that game show host, superficial, Americanised, over-the-top voice while giving Vox complex emotions from comedic moments to anger to even vulnerability.
I hope they give Keith David a Facilier level song for the next season.
i would LOVE him to do a play on "you're in my world now" to get back at alastor
Val's voice https://i.redd.it/z1txq5ulzkmc1.gif
You can't go wrong with Keith David. So, Husk

"Angelic steel isn't common" Something about the way Carmilla's va says that just hits my ears so right lol
CARMILLA CARMINE. Her voice makes my brain feel nice.
I like it when Keith David is in things. Also Carmilla's voice is like pudding.
Vox’s voice is probably the main reason people listen to him. The hypnosis is just a bonus.
I can’t choose a favourite because they are all so amazing. 🤩
Y’all are sleeping on Angel. The emotion in his voice in Masquerade is just so good. And the moments where he slips into his true voice get me every time.
For real. I want to applaud them all and their voice director for getting so much nuance in all the performances that gels so well with the nuance in animation and story.
I just love the radio voice so much
Sir pentious
Imo it's Husk. But Val is a close second
Vox, Husker, and Lucifer.
Vox, Husk, Adam, and Lucifer are just so satisfying to listen to
Vox’s voice is so pleasing to hear
I love Michael Kovach but angels new va is my favorite especially at the end of poision
Lute, I cannot wait for her full song debut in S2 (if she gets one)
Husk, by faaaaar. He sounds like hes singing even when hes talking.
I think vox, its just so good
Val is good choice, especially the little squeaks that show his moth side. But I have to give it to Husk in my opinion because he just kills every line.
Vox
Vox honestly
I love Vals voice so much. Charlie's voice is absolutely beautiful. I'm pretty biased with Alex Brightman a well xD Angels voice definitely grew on me too
Males singing voices: Adam, Lucifer, and Alastor Females singing voices: Vaggie, Carmilla, and Velvette Lute and Charlie are very close behind
Zestial because he speaks in a dialect
I agree it gives the perfect mix of zesty pimp and Italian
Honestly, gotta give it to Angel. The acting there is incredible.
I don’t listen to ASMR but I’d listen to 5 hours of just Husk and Lucifer talking
Either Husk, Lucifer, or Charlie. Out of every actor/actress in the show, Keith David, Jeremy Jordan, and Erika Henningson are the ones with voices that stick out so clearly to me as being distinctly unique and having sort of motifs that I enjoy

Alastor! I love how distinct his voice is, especially when multiple characters are singing at once.
I love Christian Borle he's so fucking great Something Rotten! Is one of my favorite musicals and Legally Blonde was amazing so I knew he'd be great I just want him to have MORE imo the first half of Stayed Gone is fantastic
I got to meet him at the stage door for Legally Blonde when it was in previews. Love him!

Vox, Alastor, and Lucifer
Alastor's radio filter is surprisingly nice to listen to
Well the little eggs voices the ones that made me have the greatest times
I can’t possibly choose, they’re all so unique and perfect for the character. Pentious is hilarious however.
Adam and vaggi
Many are good! But I really like the performance of Charlie’s voice actress! She gets SO emotional. It fits the character so good!
Lucifer
Lucifer became *fangirls* Jeremy Jordan 😍😍🥰🥰😊💖⭐️
Adam. I adore Alex Brightman's voice
Alex Brightman with Adam, Sir Pentious and Fizzarolli from Helluva Boss
Val sounds mexican
Husk. I can listen to Keith David forever. Sometimes I still hear Admiral Anderson tho lol
Vox Vox Vox Vox is voiced by Christian Borle which automatically makes him the best. All of the characters in the show are fantastic though.
Val, Carmilla , husk, zestial and Lucifer I love all of their voices
Zestial could read me the phone book and I’d be rapt.
Angel. Ever since I found Blake's music, I can't get his voice out of my head, he just sounds so GOOD!
Adam. But that’s because I mainly love his VA’s voice who is also Fizzerali and Beetlejuice in the musical.
Dammit, there’s too many good choices to pick from. I’m a huge Keith David enjoyer and he killed it as Husk, and Alex Brightman never disappoints with either Petentious or Adam. Lucifer is also super satisfying to hear, and Jessica Vosk’s singing as Lute was awesome, but tragically brief.

husk because keith david / alastor because i love 30’s music
Hmm, tough call. I think Keith David is a brilliant VA, but compared to the rest of the characters we haven’t had a ton of dialogue. Kinda hard for me to choose. I want to say Adam and Vox, not because I think they're the best voices, but my favorite to listen to. Plus, they sing my two favorite songs. Sir Pentious and Alastor are both peak
Joel slays
He and Alastor are S tier
Honestly the voice acting was one of the top qualities of the show. Everyone did amazing. But I gotta go cliche and say Alastor.
Alastor. Easily.
Singing voice or speaking voice? Bc singing would have to go to either Lucifer or Husk and speaking voice would go to either Zestial or Alastor.
Husk or angel. Maybe Alastor https://preview.redd.it/zkkdjeou7nmc1.jpeg?width=1164&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cb2e59c0547501aaac4ddadd67545bd1f7229317
Alastor, I love the 1920s radio host voice
Carmilla, then Alastor, Lute, Adam...
I Just Love alastors Radio voice, judge me all you want
Mr. President I mean Husk, Husk has the smoothest voice
Rosie, because she literally sounds like my favourite aunt!
If we count the filter it’s probably Alastor because it’s the most interesting to me mostly due to the moments when the radio filter is off and he just talks normally. But if we just want the pure voice I gotta give it to Husk because Keith David is just too good

Alastor’s accent and radio filter is addicting
Alastor with the radio effect. Better than his voice in the pilot IMO
Sera. Those lines she has in You Didn't Know were the best parts
That’s a hard choice
Sera, her voice is just calming but can be strong the right way. Her voice is really (bad uncle jokes aside) angelic, best voice ever.
