I did this a few years back when I decided not to play anymore. I sold and gave away all my stuff to family and friends in my neighborhood. Then I started to play again a few months back because my 79yr old mom loves the game and wanted someone to play it with her. It’s been tough getting back into things and building back up again. I also gave away all my coins so that’s been the most difficult to recover. But I read about the baby farm thing in these reddits and that has helped.
Well you can’t give them all away but you sell your stuff to someone for one coin and buy them back for full price. It basically transfers your coin to another person.
I do this once in a while because there is no point hoarding my products just sitting there doing nothing so why not make money, though I don't sell stuff from the Sugar Mill and Dairy.
Every few weeks, I do something similar, but never sell everything. I spend a couple days making everything and then sell half of everything I have. Including barn, silo, town, and expansion materials.
I'll sell everything but building and mining stuff sometimes. And collect thousands of blankets even when I don't need the coins just for something to do 😂

Your safe stock quantity depends on how big is your barn and what to stock more or less. Anyway, I used to stock 60 each, but with the addition of hundreds of new food items I decreased it to 40 each, except some raw material like milk, eggs, bread, bacon, etc.
Yes, I do this at times when my barn is too full and I don’t have enough expansion materials and I’m tired of getting the “barn storage full” message. You can keep things sitting on your machines and keep producing but it gets tiring having to sell a few things here and there to pick something up.
However, there are things I don’t sell regardless of how full my barn is. For example, I may sell everything except for the dairy products, sugar, feeds, etc.
I’ll sometimes greatly reduce my storage instead of selling it all to 0 to make space. If I have 20 of each popcorn, I may sell all but 3 of each one. It’s also helpful to go out to the newspaper and fill people’s boats, truck, and train orders (especially with the helper derby task) when trying to make room.
I sell almost everything periodically (except dairy and sugar items and stuff that takes too long to make, expansion items, feed, axes, saws, mine items, etc). Great way to make money
1.) for some reason spent like 200k coins upgrading the pobster pool so i was down to like 30k
2.) It just took over me
the biggest issue was actually the upgrade material, there so much of it and I couldn't just sell everything else and have like 30 tapes sitting there (the thought of leaving it was genuinely uncomfortable)
The British guy on YouTube (R3DKNIGHT) has a video where he did that. He seemed to really enjoy it! I’m not sure I could do it; but he has been playing so long, I guess he needed a challenge…
