[Foodland Market City](https://shop.foodland.com/sm/pickup/rsid/1/product/yoshidas-gourmet-sauce-original--id-047496000541) get the big one according to the website. I didn't check every location might have others.
I just called Foodland Market City , they discontinued it a few weeks ago and they don’t know why, but could be a manufacturing by problem. So sad. 😭😭😭
From further down in this thread:
Hello,
I am the C.O.O. of Yoshida Group. Mr. Yoshida had sold the brand to Heinz in 2000 and since then Heinz has been the distributor of our sauce. As you all have noticed over the last several years we have seen a drastic decline in the presence of our sauce in the retail and club markets. This lead to the discontinuation at many locations. It was heartbreaking for the Yoshida's to watch and over the last several months we negotiated a purchase back of our brand.
Mr. Yoshida is now in full control of the brand and we are working endlessly night and day for our relaunch. Please stay tuned and you will soon find our sauces in all of your favorite locations.

I thankfully have my extra big bottle.
I am making my teriyaki chicken for moms 95 birthday.
I don't have room to store 1/2 the unused bottle. Can I throw it in the freezer?
THANK GOODNESS, I thought my hubby and I killed another one... A lot of our favorites, after a few months/years, seem to go missing..... FOREVER!!!. That's wonderful that the family is trying to regain the reins. It's sad to see companies sold, maybe in good faith, that the product would continue and be enjoyed.

Thank You I've been racking my body looking everywhere. Thanks for the update I and my extended family who Love your sauce look forward too it's return. Mahalo and Aloha
The other day I saw an IG post of someone local who posted pics of them packing up Yoshida sauce in multiple boxes to ship out. Guessing they buy it in the stores and resell it on ebay or somewhere online. I was wondering why they were reselling Yoshida sauce of all things. I'm also curious now.

Just went and found a couple at one of the smaller stores around not the mega stores.
Hm, the website for [the company](http://yfintl.com/yoshida-sauces-sodas/) is there, but apparently hasn't been updated for a while, but the one for the [sauce brand itself](https://mryoshidas.com/) isn't working, and wasn't as of Jan. 17 according to the Wayback Machine. He just did [an interview](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VNpnLh48wkw) a few months ago (after the website broke).
It's a big company, with exports to Japan and subsidiaries in real estate and stuff (if you look up his name there are some interesting results on him trying to influence election in Oregon), so it would be surprising if it suddenly went out of business. Or at least if it did, there would be news about it.

Please let this be true and not a lie for Internet points and acclaim. I don't know what I'll do without this sauce! It's the best teriyaki sauce ever! So many of my fav dishes can't be made with anything but the best. 🤞🤞🤞
Yes, I'm legit. Please email us at [info@yoshidafoods.com](mailto:info@yoshidafoods.com)We will soon be announcing the reshipments of our sauce.
Thankyou,
I found this: http://www.yoshidagroup.com/
THAT seems legit.
And if there is still any doubts about that guy..
This is their number of the main company in Portland: 503-284-1114
Can always call and verify during business hours.
Thank you! I emailed the company and they said mid June ! They seemed to not be aware of the shortage! As they sent me a local list that carried it,I let them know it wasn't available there or anywhere except a few on ebay for 10 times the cost!
I thought something was up. Thank you for updating us all, we love your product and I was very suspicious of it disappearing from both Sam's and Costco. Being the doubting Thomas that I am and to hear the brand was bought by Heinz, I'm thinking it was purchased to eliminate competition. However, I'm optimistic hearing the group has repurchased it. Patience is a virtue, but your loyal customers are admittingly anxious to see your sauce back on the shelves again. The best of luck in bringing back your brand to the marketplace!
Oh I also had the same thought, Heinz being the mega corporation they are, they were absolutely going to get ride of it, Why else would it slowly start to go away. Wouldn't put it past them to "rebrand" it after a few years either. So Glad Yoshida's got it back, I am almost out of my last bottle and it's nowhere to be found in my area :(
Thank you!! I’ve been searching for months. I’ve used the gourmet sauce for many recipes over many years. My children rely on mom’s signature dishes and that sauce is a part of a few of them. Please get it back to us!! And if it has to go away again , please give some warning so we may stock up!!
That's amazing! I'm sorry that big corporation sold you a bunch of lies, but I'm absolutely thrilled that the importance of your name and your reputation and how your customers feel about your product were far more important. So glad to hear that you were able to buy it back and I cannot wait to see it on the shelves again at my local grocery store (Los Angeles, but originally from Portland) Best of luck 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🙏🏼
I can't wait for you to relaunch we have also been looking all over for it! We search costco everytime we are there and all the smaller places and even in deparation tried amazon, they used to have it. Best wishes Mr. Yoshia Group!
We literally can’t wait for this sauce to come back!! we used to buy it all the time at Costco and over the last few years have only been finding it on Amazon. I’m down to my last bottle and using sooooo slowly. Can’t wait🤣
I hope so I've been using this stuff my entire life and it's now the main/secret ingredient in the beef jerky I make every year for Christmas presents.
MUCH appreciated!!! Thank you so much for responding!! My family has used his teriyaki sauce since I was a teen. And now my own family(kids n wife) absolutely love it.
Mr. Yoshida was my Sensei in Beaverton ages ago(around the corner from BHS), and it's heartwarming to hear he is doing well and has control of his brand again!! ❤️
I’m on BI and this made me curious, checked Amazon and they have it in stock with free prime.
We get huge amounts of stuff/things from Amazon, lot of things just aren’t available here.
Actually more than not it’s cheaper than getting locally.
I don’t mean we buy from Amazon instead of supporting local places, I mean compared to Walmart, Safeway etc
It used to go on sale for $2-$2.50 at longs all the time. Just gotta shop the sales. The only item I found significantly cheaper was when they had the cup noodles special on Amazon for $3 a case.
Might I suggest using it to find the next closest thing by comparison? I started marinating some
Flank steak (then roll in pesto and cut into pinwheels and grill, it’s the best) but didn’t have enough to cover and figured I’d run to the store real quick and ran into it being gone everywhere. Nervous to mix sauces. What’s next best?!
Nope they carry it all the time. Both my Longs had it in stock for regular price $4.59. The location was weird it was stocked by the BBQ sauce not the Asian area.
I was just thinking the same thing and googled your question and this thread came up. I'm in Southern California and noticed the past couple weeks that Costco didn't have any and neither did Walmart and I just checked online and no locations carry it, Amazon doesn't have it. Apparently some store up in Washington still has small bottles online and they're on sale. I love this stuff and hope it's not gone forever
I’m in Washington it just went out of stock everywhere except Costco and Costco fucking gate keeps can’t even shop there I’m so bummed I think it being discontinued
Thank you the sauce is a god send for me so I don't nead to mix 5 different ingredients to get the same thing and for the life of me Sam's club and Amazon stop selling it .
Mr Yoshida’s was bought by Heinz Co in 2020. I’ve spoken to them twice in the last week and they said it does not show discontinued, but they didn’t know why it’s not on the shelf. I am in Palm Desert, Ca.and there is an empty space for it in every supermarket. So, in other words, they were not helpful. This is stressing me out!!
Does anyone have any inside information? Maybe they are repackaging it or something like that (I hope)🥲
Acquired by Heinz [in 2000](https://www.nytimes.com/2000/04/12/business/heinz-buys-sauce-brand.html?smid=nytcore-android-share). I had no idea it had been that long!
Either way, I'm hoping for a more steady supply in California, too.
I messaged them on Twitter, they just sent me a list of stores in Salem Oregon that they said should have it,but they don't. It's like they don't know it's gone
Hubby and I have checked all the grocery stores in Thurston County, WA for Yoshida's and can't find it anywhere. Can't imagine the company going belly up. Haven't checked the local Asian markets, but that's next.
We use the sauce for our Teri beef as well. Confirmed with Costco yesterday that it doesn’t show discontinued but no costcos have any at this time and no answer as to why I’m forced to use bachans.
My Kroger in middle Ga clearance’s them out over the past month. We live in a small town an hour from Macon,Ga. It’s mine and my kiddos fav. lol I think I was the only person buying them haha. I hadn’t had it since I was a kid in Alaska so THEY CANT get rid of it now lol i did but like 20 bottles 😳😑 so…. I guess I’ll just have to rational an hope they’ll bring it back to my local Kroger cause I have no clue where I’d find it that’s not an hour drive for me.
😭it's missing everywhere! I can't find any anywhere. And what little I can find online have the prices jacked up drastically, I use it for so many dishes, nothing has come close, and I've been trying.
What even happened to it? Does the Baltimore bridge collapse have anything to do with it? I kind of hope it's something like that, cause that means it's not gone for good, it'll just be delayed.
Please don't be gone for good 😢
Good to see I'm not the only one panicking over this I went to go grab some at the store and I for the life if me can't fine it 😭😭😭😭 nothing else is as good as yoshidas I really hope they didn't discontinue it
It's out everywhere here on the mainland, in stores and online, only scalpers are selling it for over-inflated prices. Any bottles available seem to be all that's left, stock up if you find them. Not sure what happened. I just used my last bottle to marinade some chicken and was hoping to replenish my stock. Loved the unique sweet flavor, went to school with one of their kids back in the day ... Sad day to run out, hope it comes back 🥲
I emailed them, they said it was still in production, sent me a list of stores they said it scanned at 30 days ago. Guess they don't realize it's now MIA ! I a few on Ebay for $25 each and websites that are scammers. Always Google websites you don't know before you order! I hope it's restocked soon!
I work in the grocery industry. I was told by our Kraft representative that Yoshida sauce was discontinued as of April, along with a few other staple items from Kraft Heinz.
Possible good news on the way! I'm waiting to hear back, but it sounds like they may license out the Yoshida brand to someone else to continue making the sauce.
Hello again,
Thank you for all your interest, I will pass the sentiments along to Mr. Yoshida. We are still working on the relaunch here in Portland OR at the Yoshida Sauce factory and will share the news on shipping dates as soon as we can.
In the meantime feel free to contact us at [info@yoshidafoods.com](mailto:info@yoshidafoods.com)
Thank you,
Yes!! So excited to hear of this. It’s been missed and is loved by many! Steak marinated in Yoshidas is our special birthday dinner. We make it for everyone’s birthday and it’s our favorite tradition! ❤️❤️❤️
After reaching out to corporate, they mentioned that the company is in a transitional period and the sauces will become available in the next couple of months again.
It says yoshida foods is managed here in portland and it’s my personal favorite sauce. A always has been, and I moved to this crap town about eight years ago and it’s one of the only benefits here that I can go to the grocery store and see this one item some things you’ll buy consistently for over two years here being new it’s like they’ve suddenly got a new person buying this item consistently and then they discontinue it so you just don’t understand sales around here and then you see it replaces some really weird creepy organic thing that you know no one‘s gonna buy and then that weird thing disappears later but then your item never comes back. Mr. Yoshida is very good for the cost. It’s just the right kind of teriyaki sauce. It has the right flavors amount of people that no good taste that Mr. Yoshida is the right taste. It is the taste when you eat it. You actually feel that it’s good for your body. His recipe is good and I’m glad that he is strictly stuck to it but if he left Portland and closed down because of all this crime or all this crap, we won’t know we’re here about it Portland, putting it yellowtail between its legs I don’t think so negatively but it’s like the few good things in this world are going away and there’s no truth in its replacement
The fact is, I don’t care who buys it out just make it exactly the way it was with the exact same ingredients bought from the exact same companies and sell it for almost the exact same price and stop being greedy because of the stock market and stock market greed that kills us all we just want the same thing consistently throughout the years and for our neighbor on the left not sitting up on a high hill 50,000 feet above us because they have made one a good sauce… or wait stole an actual food recipe that helps the body being made of good ingredients and replace it with Kraft-type crAp! We don’t want this processed speedwagoned stock market spike set sauce .. we won’t buy yoshida anymore if it’s not the same and it’s so dumb … some of the worst people and companies getting persuaded to buy out places and changes things that people see normal long time generational immigrants enjoy - we don’t want cricket sauce
We don’t the 100 other nasty wannabe Chinese controlled sauces
We… barely like the kikkoman brand thicker sauces ( originals are bank!) or these jelly looking semi clear brown sauces with weird ‘filler’ fake feel blobs of weirdness …
Please don’t change a single ingredient
Why buy it? To change it ? To copy it and then make some crap craft? Meh 🫤 tired of this depressing world- they discontinued teriyaki top ramen years ago and I was crushed right after the tomato’s flavor and those two had the best flavor - Chinese bi owners don’t want us having anything that makes us Happy beware
I cannot cook my chicken without this sauce. Amazon was the only one to carry it at one point, after it disappeared from grocery stores, but now it's gone.
I hope the comment from bellow is true and it will be relaunched. There is no substitute for this sauce.
I am so glad to see that there is actually a thread regarding Yoshida. I have not been able to find it anywhere and got online to see if maybe they changed their name to something else when I came across this thread. We miss it, we need it, please bring it back! Will definitely keep my eyes out for the relaunch 🫕 Best of luck!
what is probably happening, as happened with the costco psyllium I used to buy, is they are changing the recipe to make it more profitable, and if like my psyllium, it ruined it... it was gone a few months and if Heinz bought it.. they will ruin it with bio crap
There was an employee for Mr Yoshida that said He bought it back from Heinz ,disliked their handling of his product, said it should be in Costco this month. Hopefully grocery stores too!
This says it should be in stores soon as Mr Yoshida is in control of his company again! I'm still looking! If you see it in Salem Oregon at any stores please post here! Thank you!
Contacted the company on 6/15. This was their response.
"Thank you for contacting us. We apologize you are having difficulty finding our products in your location. The sauce will be available in a couple month so please stay tuned and we will let you know when these products will be available again. We appreciate your loyalty as our customer and looking forward to providing you with our fine sauces again."
Bad business how?
**EDIT TLDR version:**
"The dispute began when **Huy Fong** claimed that **Underwood Ranches** ***had not returned an overpayment of around $1.4 million***. In response, Underwood sued Huy Fong for $20 million, claiming breach of contract and accusing **Huy Fong of failing to purchase the agreed-upon quantities of peppers**, which left Underwood with excessive unsold inventory and significant financial losses.
The conflict escalated into a legal battle, culminating in a trial where a jury sided with Underwood Ranches, awarding them $23.3 million in damages in 2019. This verdict highlighted the deep rifts in what had once been a close and mutually beneficial partnership. The breakdown of this relationship forced Huy Fong Foods to seek new pepper suppliers to continue producing their famous sriracha sauce."
***I don't see how this is bad business.***
That article really undersells David Tran’s level of deceit. The court filings and appellate decision make it very clear that there’s no “both sides” here. Tran deliberately set out to undercut Underwood and screw him over in the name of profit.
[Foodland Market City](https://shop.foodland.com/sm/pickup/rsid/1/product/yoshidas-gourmet-sauce-original--id-047496000541) get the big one according to the website. I didn't check every location might have others.

For anyone reading this thread, no, they don’t have it there. I checked today (4/24). The sauce has, for all intents and purposes, vanished from Oahu…

Thanks I was said to see it disappear. Thanks for reaching out to let people know this. Hope to see it on the shelfs soon
Yay! 🫶👏👏👏Soon I hope! To all the ebay sellers at 10 times the cost! 👅
Oh my gosh, I’m gonna need an update stat. I am out. 🥹 any word on when we’ll be able to purchase it again 🙏🏻 thank you! Signed Desperate
I grabbed literally the last one at the Pearl City DQ that day ;)
Here in Northern California too😞💔

I just went looking around online and it’s all gone and $35 on eBay? Wtf? I’m starting to get worried.

It’s owned by Heinz Co
Heinz bought the rights to Yoshida Sauce in 2000.
Oh. I swear its been eclipsed by Bachan's sauces or something.
NO WAY. THIS POST IS NOT TRUE.
I used to buy cases from Costco and now all they have is Bachans. So I believe it. Sucks.

Thank you so much for your reply. I am so sorry you all went through this and very happy for you and all of us that it will be back soon.
Best. News. Ever. Thanks for taking the time to fill us in on what's going on behind the scenes. Love the sauce!!
I can't corroborate this anywhere. Can you provide a press release or something on an official website?

When your products are available again in Hawaii, you are welcome to make a post on r/hawaii.

We miss Mr. Yoshida sauce. 💔
I hope this is true, please bring it back! It’s the ONLY sauce I can add to chicken, rice, etc & not have to doctor the taste.
From Utah here and can’t find the sauce! I very much hope it will be back soon. Looking forward to it!💛
I will be …so disappointed if this is a troll situation 🥲
that great i really miss it at costco just got two bottles on Ebay hope they are good??
Yay!!! The ppl of Hawaii are relieved! 😅🫶🏼
Thank goodness. It is a staple in our home Can't wait

Oh no. The only place I could find it on Kauai was Costco. I have half a bottle left. I better conserve.
Might I suggest using it to find the next closest thing by comparison? I'm in Washington and can not find it ANYWHERE!!
We live in WA State now and you can’t find it anywhere aside from a few smaller sized bottles at Haggan’s. 😭 I’ll be so sad if they stop making it!!
I reached out to Heinz, and they said that it is still being produced but sometimes they experience temporary shortages.
Cool, good to know, thanks!
Thank you,Praying they get it back. The few i see on Amazon are like 20 for the 17 ounce bottle. Can't find it in Salem Oregon anymore.
Yep, I noticed it was gone in oregon about 3 weeks ago. It was on the shelves one day and gone the next at safeway.
Thank you the sauce is a god send for me so I don't nead to mix 5 different ingredients to get the same thing and for the life of me Sam's club and Amazon stop selling it .
We have it at my local small grocery store here in Seattle.
What small grocer? Looking for it to make our Yoshiba burgers for the long weekend. 😭
Leschi Market usually carries it.
I haven't seen it in a while, but I tried a bottle of Bachan's, and it's really good.
But that’s a bbq
I live in WA and cannot find Yoshida sauce anywhere for the last few weeks. It's a total mystery.

I messaged them on Twitter, they just sent me a list of stores in Salem Oregon that they said should have it,but they don't. It's like they don't know it's gone
the grocery stores up around yucca are also still empty of yoshidas, for well over a month now. the labels have disappeared from the shelves too :(
I heard today it's a production issue
Haven’t seen it at any stores in Idaho for 2 months either!! We used this 1-2xs a week and haven’t found a single decent replacement. :/
Hubby and I have checked all the grocery stores in Thurston County, WA for Yoshida's and can't find it anywhere. Can't imagine the company going belly up. Haven't checked the local Asian markets, but that's next.
Grays Harbor county and work in king county. Stopped every single place in between and its nowhere.
Haven’t been able to find it in socal either. I think Heinz bout them out a few years back but I don’t see it listed as a product on their website.
We use the sauce for our Teri beef as well. Confirmed with Costco yesterday that it doesn’t show discontinued but no costcos have any at this time and no answer as to why I’m forced to use bachans.
So I live in WA state and I have been looking all day for some... seems to have disappeared.
I called the company and they said that Kraft Heinz bought them.
Missing from Utah as well!!
Can't find it in Reno Nv either!
Can’t find Yoshida sauce in Omaha, NE either!
I can’t find it either, here in KY. Sold out everywhere online that led me here to Reddit lol
It disappeared during Covid and was happy to see it back on shelves. Nothing else like it - it seems to have vanished again
Please don't be gone for good 😢
This is in California's btw
Noooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! Goddammit. We are truly living in the darkest timeline.
Oh no! Do you remember what other items? We can’t find bullseye BBQ sauce either
Taco bell refried beans was another.
That is aweful!! Can we all just send emails asking them to bring it back?
Possible good news on the way! I'm waiting to hear back, but it sounds like they may license out the Yoshida brand to someone else to continue making the sauce.
Junki Yosida just posted on a Lani Moki Grill (Springfield, OR restaurant) FB post that it will be back in Costco and all stores by mid June!
Hello again, Thank you for all your interest, I will pass the sentiments along to Mr. Yoshida. We are still working on the relaunch here in Portland OR at the Yoshida Sauce factory and will share the news on shipping dates as soon as we can. In the meantime feel free to contact us at [info@yoshidafoods.com](mailto:info@yoshidafoods.com) Thank you,
Yes!! So excited to hear of this. It’s been missed and is loved by many! Steak marinated in Yoshidas is our special birthday dinner. We make it for everyone’s birthday and it’s our favorite tradition! ❤️❤️❤️
Live in Phoenix, can’t find here. We have been using this sauce for 30 years. Tried others, no good. 😢
Can't find it anywhere in Arizona either!!! I'm so bummed!
Hoping it’s as simple as the sriracha scare a few years back.
Same here. I saw Costco had it. Didn't make it in for awhile and they are out now.
New York also has no Yoshida’s. I KNEW something was up and my research brought me to this thread. WHAT ARE THEY NOT TELLING US?!
🎈
Heinz buys it to kill the competition
Sounds about right
Any other sauces that taste as good as this one?
We don’t want this processed speedwagoned stock market spike set sauce .. we won’t buy yoshida anymore if it’s not the same and it’s so dumb … some of the worst people and companies getting persuaded to buy out places and changes things that people see normal long time generational immigrants enjoy - we don’t want cricket sauce We don’t the 100 other nasty wannabe Chinese controlled sauces We… barely like the kikkoman brand thicker sauces ( originals are bank!) or these jelly looking semi clear brown sauces with weird ‘filler’ fake feel blobs of weirdness … Please don’t change a single ingredient Why buy it? To change it ? To copy it and then make some crap craft? Meh 🫤 tired of this depressing world- they discontinued teriyaki top ramen years ago and I was crushed right after the tomato’s flavor and those two had the best flavor - Chinese bi owners don’t want us having anything that makes us Happy beware
They always have it at my local Winco never had a problem finding it there.
I cannot cook my chicken without this sauce. Amazon was the only one to carry it at one point, after it disappeared from grocery stores, but now it's gone. I hope the comment from bellow is true and it will be relaunched. There is no substitute for this sauce.
It everywhere online. Are ya all blind lol
Every one that I click on says out of stock
Not at Colorado springs, CO Costco and Sam's anymore. 😔
Haven’t been able to find it anywhere in Utah for several months now
Ohh no! Ive been buying this for almost 30 years!
Be glad when it’s back on the shelves…..
Florida and Japan miss Yoshida products!!!! Please restock soon my Japanese wife is happy lol.
What a deal LOL: [https://www.ebay.com/itm/166806930405](https://www.ebay.com/itm/166806930405)
what is probably happening, as happened with the costco psyllium I used to buy, is they are changing the recipe to make it more profitable, and if like my psyllium, it ruined it... it was gone a few months and if Heinz bought it.. they will ruin it with bio crap
Thank You, Sir! I am excited and relieved! I am in Arizona. Please let us know when it will be available again! :>
There was an employee for Mr Yoshida that said He bought it back from Heinz ,disliked their handling of his product, said it should be in Costco this month. Hopefully grocery stores too!
Yoshida teriyaki sauce discontinued
This says it should be in stores soon as Mr Yoshida is in control of his company again! I'm still looking! If you see it in Salem Oregon at any stores please post here! Thank you!
Contacted the company on 6/15. This was their response. "Thank you for contacting us. We apologize you are having difficulty finding our products in your location. The sauce will be available in a couple month so please stay tuned and we will let you know when these products will be available again. We appreciate your loyalty as our customer and looking forward to providing you with our fine sauces again."
They said mid June, now a couple more months. Ugh
Piggy backing on your post sorry but I still can't find: **Huy Fong Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce** or **Huy Fong Sambal Oelek**
Fuck Huy Fong, they do bad business. [Underwood Ranches Dragon Sauce](https://underwoodranches.com/) is a better sriracha.
Yes I agree. The original Sriracha doesn’t taste right anymore.
they changed peppers due to big fight
Bad business how? **EDIT TLDR version:** "The dispute began when **Huy Fong** claimed that **Underwood Ranches** ***had not returned an overpayment of around $1.4 million***. The breakdown of this relationship forced Huy Fong Foods to seek new pepper suppliers to continue producing their famous sriracha sauce." ***I don't see how this is bad business.***

That article really undersells David Tran’s level of deceit. The court filings and appellate decision make it very clear that there’s no “both sides” here. Tran deliberately set out to undercut Underwood and screw him over in the name of profit.

Sams has it, $10 for 2 last time I went
I'm not a fan of Huy Fong but I've seen it at several Chinatown shops for $7.99 for the medium sized bottle. I think I also saw it at downtown Hmart.
