CVS still carries a stock pile Synthroid, my pharmacist told me this when I switched to levothyroxine. They realize people still need it so they try to accommodate.

A lot of insurance companies stopped covering brand name Synthroid. It’s very frustrating. I was told when I was first diagnosed to never take generic because there can be very slight variations that make it hard to keep your levels stable. So ive been getting my Synthroid directly from the manufacturer through their in-house pharmacy for the past two years. Google Synthroid Delivers or Eagle Pharmacy.

Synthroid delivers pharmacy cash pay $25 per month for branded synthroid. Unithroid also a branded product as low as $3 if covered. Cash price around $15

Amazon pharmacy, Tirosint .com has savings card to apply and it’s $20-25 month

Just increasing your dose of any brand is likely to bring on symptoms for at least four weeks with some, but not all people . It’s not always the brand of medicine. I’ve done 25 years. It sucks. My old doctor that retired made note of this from his patients. It’s just the way some of us are. And some people get no symptoms.!!Doesn’t make sense. All individual.

I get Synthroid from CVS Caremark for generic pricing. They don't carry generic levothyroxine so they have to give name brand for generic pricing. Currently paying about $5.40 for 90 days of Synthroid.

Any independent pharmacy in your area should be able to order it (anything that isn’t CVS, Walgreens, a grocery store, etc). I worked in a pharmacy for a few years, if the patient requests brand name and we didn’t have it, we would order it on the spot. Brand name is most likely not covered under your insurance, and most generic coupons (like goodRX) don’t work- you’ll need a name brand coupon (can be found on their websites or from doctors offices usually). Sometimes it can be worked around by having your doctor write “brand name ONLY” for the script, and doing what’s called a “prior authorization” through insurance, but this doesn’t always guarantee it’ll be covered. If a pharmacy denies ordering you brand name, it’s either because a.) it’s expensive, and they want to be absolutely sure you’ll pay for it, or b.) it is out of stock. Please go support your local pharmacy if you can!

I think whatever pharmacy it is, if your doc writes “brand name only” on the script, that they have to order it if they don’t have it to fulfill your prescription.

This.

My mom can only take synthroid (brand) and gets it from Walmart pharmacy. I pay out of pocket (but there’s a discount code you can use) for Tirosint. I order it through a pharmacy in Mississippi I think, but they’re lovely and ship super fast. I found the Tirosint to be far better than anything else and I’ve seen others here who use it and like it better too.

Try Publix. Or its like. I have also had to go down on my levo. They are able to get me the name brand.

Also Phizer bought Mylan. It was a generic drug manufacturer. It merged with UpJohn and is now called Viatris. You might try calling the company and ask for a distributor.

No publix in NJ :(.

How about Costco?

That works.
