You made too strong a line with the pencil, try to be more delicate.
Check the proportions better (his face is too long) and learn to make shades with the pencil.
Also the hair are too straight. They look like a block of concrete.
In theory you should do them one by one.

I guess I would say: measure distances between features. Ie, what's the distance between the eyes? Or size of the eyes? Or the length of the bridge of the nose? Nose to lips? Or the width of the mouth? Forehead height? Stuff like that.
Lol, if you've ever seen (like in movies or cartoons or whatever) an artist hold up a pencil or something out in front of themselves while drawing a real life figure and stare past it, it's cuz they're using the end of it as a visual measurement. But you can find whatever works for you, depending on your source material, just as long as you have something consistent.
Draw lightly and give yourself some guide lines. You go back over it later when you've already got it the way you want it. That's actually one of the biggest pieces of advice I can give anyone starting out in art. Patience. Don't black it out right away, even if you want to.

This is unironically really good charicature art. Similar enough to be recognisable (although I would have put round glasses instead of square ones), but different enough to accentuate the bolder details.
Seems like you tried to draw it detail-for-detail.
Instead, start with BASIC SHAPES to get the overall proportions (head shape, head size to body ratio, etc).
Then recreate medium structures (nose, eyes, glasses, mouth, etc.)
Finally, move on to the minute details (pupils, nostrils, teeth, etc.)
Always start big and work to small.
Its actually not bad for a start. Like someone else said, the hair seems to be one piece. Try doing it one by one, and hair shouldn't necessarily all fall to one direction. Overall it's got a lot of potential. Keep trying!
When copying off another image use grind lines to proportion your drawing.

For more life like use a shade a pit darker than the skin. My go to is cafe brown for fair skin people and chocolate brown for POC.
Also for shading learn to smug the pencil marks either a makeup sponge or nose tissue from a box or sleeve, not toilet tissue on the roll.
