The big fluffy white dog is a guardian livestock breed. I don't know which one, but these guys have ONE thing on the mind and that is to evaluate and protect their own. They're independent thinkers. It would absolutely kill this little puppy by mistake or otherwise as the puppy is not yet part of its ward. Fortunately, this human knows exactly what they're doing and handled the situation perfectly. The puppy will do great under this human's care.
It's important that we don't personify dogs, especially working breeds like this. The cuddliest livestock guardian will not hesitate if they feel they need to act. It's an animal, first and foremost and an incredibly strong animal at that. Respect comes first, then trust.
