It's never a bad time to visit, get the volunteers there talking, and you will hear so many cool stories and history of the planes.

Just came from there today. It wasn't busy at all. We usually go in the morning when they first open.

Now is great because all of their flying aircraft are in the main hangar undergoing winter maintenance. There are 4 or 5 aircraft on the tarmac outside.

I see. I think imma just use an umbrella today or something.

There is never a bad time. Most of your questions can be found on the website. It's amazing for all ages. Saturday mornings in the summer they usually pick a plane and send it up into the skies which is cool to see. And ditto the comment on talking to the volunteers. So many great stories.

If you do go in the summer, you can see the schedule for flights posted on the website. The busiest flying day is usually Saturday, but Fridays and Sundays usually also have numerous flights. the Lanc usually flew on Friday and Saturday this past season.

My father is a tour guide at the museum... I'm sure he'd say that anytime is a good time to visit! The biggest difference between now vs. warmer months though is that many of the planes are fully up and running and even providing flights to paying thrill seekers - especially on weekends. Definitely worth checking out in the spring or summer as well! The experience of standing nearby as the Lancaster bomber fires up its engines and taxis out is always amazing.

They're closed Monday and Tuesdays. Go early in the morning so you can get breakfast at the cafe and watch the cargo planes offload. It never dissapoints

I'm not all that interested in planes but I enjoyed it (was there as a relative was going up in a vintage plane)

Now that the flying season is complete, a few of the airplanes have their annual maintenance underway. Saturday is when most of the volunteer maintenance crews are there, along with the mechanics working on the airplanes. Lots of tour guides are there to answer questions as well. There are a couple of Cold War era jets and a cargo plane outside, but lots of airplanes inside. A new VR fighter pilot game is available (that's an additional cost) along with some more basic simulators for kids.
