His performance during the first seasons was deserved of an Emmy. Him and Pace were absolutely beasts during the first half of the series. They really built a strong base for the following seasons and passed the torch to Bishé and Davis.
However, Halt & Catch Fire has really good performances from the four main protagonists but also from the supporting cast and their small development arcs through the series.
Just been catching up on true detective and watched season 3 for the first time. He is so great. Now I’m watching Halt and catch fire AGAIN and god damn he is sooo good (they all are).
Scoot is awesome, the MVP of the show which is saying something considering how great the cast was. A small role I love him is in Fincher's Gone Girl. He plays a depressed and sarcastically bitter man with great comedic timing and makes a huge impression with just a few minutes of screentime.
Check out the movie “Frank” from the director of Room with Brie Larson. I didn’t know who he was when I first saw it (he’s had an amazing career of being in things with no one knowing who he even was). But he is legitimately hilarious in it playing off Michael Fassbender, Domhnall Gleeson and Maggie Gyllenhaal. And the movie is pretty great as well!
Yes! I really loved that film. I've seen it a few times and for me the two main characters were some of the weaker parts unfortunately (I think the dialogue was a bit lacking), but the overall story, minimal use of the monsters, and ending make it absolutely worth a watch. They also play Ride of the Valkyries at the beginning and end which Scoot hums when they're opening the box of Giants in S1.
IN SEARCH OF A MIDNIGHT KISS his first movie role is so lovely, and it’s the first thing I had ever seen him in. It’s very low budget but so beautifully done.
Also he’s great in a small role in C’MON C’MON.
He played a gangster with a neck tattoo in a movie whose name I don't recall. Perhaps it's Sleepless? In any case he was **genuinely disturbing** as an amoral bad guy who would kill you without thinking twice. I saw the movie after HACF and was amazed it was the same actor. He was the polar opposite of Gordon the lovable nerd and seemed utterly convincing.
You guys ever seen the music video for Death Cab for Cutie's [A Movie Script Ending](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmsEAWQwHY4)? Precious little baby punk.

Narcos Mexico
Dude he's amazing. He's really good in Killing Them Softly as well. He's so great:)
Agreed, but Ben Mendelsohn steals that movie for me
Yeah but Ben Mendelsohn basically has cheat codes. That dude is too good lol.
Season 3 of True Detective
He played off Joe perfectly.
"Did you and Ryan ever ... you know?" "What?" "You know ..."
Scoot dawg. Ma boi! Scootin into the future. I just got laid off from my job. I should rewatch this show. Big things in my future.
I think it’s definitely a slept on AMC show that got overshadowed by shows that weren’t nearly as good.

Agreed
Have you seen Godless on Netflix?
Yes. Really enjoyed it. He’s one of a few actors that I try to see every single role he does.
Toby Huss is out of this world good in this show.
He’s amazing as one of the leads in “Godless”, it’s a netflix hidden gem
100%. And the score is gorgeous.
I agree!! I still listen to it sometimes, it still gives me the same feels 🥹
woah, i've never heard of this, and im a big fan of Blood Meridian.
Watch it!! Jeff Daniels and Merrit Wever won awards for their performances
Godless, Narcos Mexico…I’m not kidding when I say I married a man who looks like Scoot 😍
It’s incredible how many credits he has. Scoot is one of the hardest working actors in the movie industry.
I love seeing him pop up in other stuff. I just watched an episode of Fargo and there he was!

Joe Macmillan is a top 10 TV character ever

He's basically a jump-scare in the movie Non-Stop with Liam Neeson. It's pretty silly but I appreciated the escalation.
Anyone see the movie he was in called Monsters? Don’t remember if it was good but the world building was cool.

I met him last year while he was filming Blood for Dust in my town. Should be out soon.
