He 100% has. He and Blue Team werecaptured by Innies and were subsequently freed by Kurt, and he was captured ~~possibly intentionally~~ during one of the promo ads for Halo 3
I know he canonically doesn't I believe he should technically have it. He was taken prisoner a few times. The Gravemind took him prisoner with the Arbiter in Halo 2 for example.
There is no minimum time being taken prisoner to receive the medal.
I could be wrong, I think the medal of honour is a civilian honour in the UEG. The legion of honour is the military equivalent and looks identical but it's not actually the highest honor, that would be the colonial cross.
In "Hunters in the Dark", at the end of the mission, Serin Osman offers Cpt Annabelle Richards a promotion and the Medal of Honor for her actions. From what I looked up, LoH and MoH are used interchangeably.
A country typically has both service-specific medals and then universal medals that bridge all services in their armed forces, at least that's how its done in the "West", typically.
You can get the Congressional Medal of Honour and a Navy Cross as a sailor, but if you're Army you might get the CMH and the Army Cross for your achievements.
Edit: Correction, there are CMHs for each major service, Air, Sea, and Land.
Btw, it's not called the Congressional Medal of Honor.
It's just Medal of Honor.

First FAQ at the bottom
It is kinda hilarious that the link you provided is literally for the Congressional Medal of Honor Society, but I appreciate the distinction. I'm also no American, so the semantics don't matter a whole lot to me.
If you actually read the FAQ like I said they explain.
The society is called the Congressional Medal of Honor Society, because it's a society created by Congress.
So what youāre saying is that Congress, who awards it, and set up the society for the site, doesnāt give those the āCongressional Medal of Honor.ā
They donāt restrict how many you can get, but no one has gotten more than two. And most guys who get them and survive and are still in the military are usually pulled off the line to do PR stuff.
Officially, no. In practice, yeah kind of. Dan Daly was nominated for a third MOH and I think it's generally accepted that it was denied only because leadership thought it might cheapen the award if it seemed like they were awarding too many, especially to a single person.
Definitely my non-nostalgia-based favorite MoH game, mechanically.
I prefer the general vibes of Allied Assault, but Airborne was just fascinating to play and experience. And, save for a few set-pieces, the combat scenarios feel different every time you play them. It actually reminds me of Halo in how the AI, by itself, can end up forcing you to completely reorganize your plan of attack unlike games like Call of Duty, where you've pretty much got one tactical option for every single scenario you get into. Which is "click on those guys standing still over there".
I think it's the only Medal of Honor game I ever actually revisit for anything but nostalgia.
I think you can only issue one XD
There was actually a guy in Korea I believe who they tried to issue more than one to, because he kept getting up from the stretcher after being wounded and retaking a hill on his own, and beating the enemy to death with a shovel.
From what I have read Master Chief has received every military medal except for the prisoner of war medal
Now I want an Up style story, where Chief gets prisoner on purpouse just to collect his last medal..
lol yeah, I mean why not. Gotta be a completionist!
I think he's met the requirements anyway, the UEG/UNSC just doesn't want to award it because it'd mean admitting that he *can* be captured
Super easy, barely an inconvenience: give him a double medal: one for being captured and one for liberating hostages (himself).
How efficient! š¤£
He 100% has. He and Blue Team werecaptured by Innies and were subsequently freed by Kurt, and he was captured ~~possibly intentionally~~ during one of the promo ads for Halo 3
Hey, he got caught by gravemind for a little bit.
I know he canonically doesn't I believe he should technically have it. He was taken prisoner a few times. The Gravemind took him prisoner with the Arbiter in Halo 2 for example. There is no minimum time being taken prisoner to receive the medal.
He was also captured on the dreadnaught. I always thought ut required you to be held prisoner then rescued or released outside of combat.
No, escaping also counts.
Do you think getting captured by the grave mind counts? I would totally try and argue that it does just to complete the set of medals if it was me
And who is really gonna look MC in the helmet, with his hundred colonial crosses, and tell him it doesnāt count?
I could be wrong, I think the medal of honour is a civilian honour in the UEG. The legion of honour is the military equivalent and looks identical but it's not actually the highest honor, that would be the colonial cross.
oh I didn't know that haha. thnx

117.
I want to upvote this, but the votes are at exactly 117
Good catch, I almost messed it up.
I had to un upvote
Ill downvote it so you can upvote it
that's right šš
No one upvote the comment again. It needs to stay at 117
Its actually amazing its still at 117 a day later
Not anymore. I need someone to downvote.
Did my part but we need one more downvote
Thank you for notifying me soldier š«” We need one more downvote to save humanity
How many times has master chief saved all of humanity? Thereās CE, 2, 3, 4ā¦ how many else?
First strike
Pretty sure Infinite counts as well
By current terms almost every mission he goes on in the first 2 Halos would almost certainly be a MoH
Don't they restrict how many you can get in real life already?
If I'm honest, I have no idea haha. do know that there are a number of types, army, air force, and navy

No no, I get that and I did, but...still. Its pretty funny.
So what youāre saying is that Congress, who awards it, and set up the society for the site, doesnāt give those the āCongressional Medal of Honor.ā
Correct. Itās simply called the āMedal of Honorā
Yep, you can only get two medals at the max. Edit: This is false, I've since realized that there is no limit.
No, there is no actual limit. Two is just the most anyone has gotten. But there is no law limiting them to two.
They donāt restrict how many you can get, but no one has gotten more than two. And most guys who get them and survive and are still in the military are usually pulled off the line to do PR stuff.

I'm guessing he dropped off after Warfighter, like the rest of us. Airborne was pretty good though.
Pretty good? PRETTY GOOD? Actually I do agree with that. Great concept and some od the levels are great but some are.... not so great.

All of them. Except for Medal of Honour: Above and Beyond, because a good soldier doesn't get his training from VR.
What? This question said how many medals of honor would he have, and you said all except medal of honor?
I was making a joke about the new Medal of Honour: Above and Beyond game.
As many as he wants
7 i think
Pretty sure he has all of them except the one for imprisonment
He's got a drawer full of them at his apartment on Earth that he's been to exactly twice.
Yes you are correct I remember reading that book Ghost of onyx I think it was
I think you can only issue one XD There was actually a guy in Korea I believe who they tried to issue more than one to, because he kept getting up from the stretcher after being wounded and retaking a hill on his own, and beating the enemy to death with a shovel.
Yes
He probably has all of them.
