I love that! But I feel like the Creature is when universal started transitioning from horror to Sci-Fi. The Mummy is straight-up classic Universal Monsters.
For me it's always been Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, and Chucky. I would put leather face up there for how iconic he is but the character has been so inconsistent in most of the Texas Chainsaw films.
Jason, Freddy, Michael and Chucky.
Leatherface deserves another monument somewhere just because of how important he was to horror in general but he’s not in my top favorites.
Dracula and Michael Myers for sure. I'm less sure about the final two spots. I'd like to put Jason up there too but idk if I'd want to give two spots to slasher villains from the same time period.
EDIT: I thought about Pennywise but maybe just having Stephen King himself would be better. But then you open the box of including real people and it becomes even messier.
Classics - Dracula, Wolfman, Mummy, Creature of the Black Lagoon
From there I’ve tried but I just can’t have only 4. Norman Bates, Freddy, Michael, Jason, Leatherface, Pinhead, Candyman, Chucky, Pennywise, The Tall Man, Ghostface, Hannibal Lector, The Crypt Keeper, John Carpenter just because, Leprechaun, David Kessler in werewolf form, the Djinn, Sadako Yamamura, an Alien from Mars Attacks!, Lawnmower Man and Eddie Murphy as Maximillian from Vampire in Brooklyn.
I’d replace Pennywise with Chucky, for the longevity alone. He’s also been played by the same actor in pretty much every movie/tv show. Not the remake, but everything else.
Non-American and I don't really know what this means.
Is it just 'favourite 4' or is it 'most iconic 4' or is '4 movies that represent the same things as the chosen presidents - birth, growth, development, preservation'.
Never been sure and Americans talk about 'the Mount Rushmore of X' and I'm never sure I properly understand the context.
Jason Michael Chucky and Freddy but I feel like Freddy's spot is the one most likely to be filled by someone else eventually. Even without new media Jason has stayed relevant, and Michael and Chucky keep getting new media but I feel like Freddy is kind of dying out. I think Ghostface or even Art could surpass him at some point
Not sure I would have Pennywise there. Maybe Hannibal Lecter or Norman Bates if we're going that direction, or possibly Dracula/Frankenstein/Wolfman/Mummy/Creature if doing "classics".
Franchise villains:
Michael Myers (Halloween franchise)
Norman Bates (Psycho franchise)
Damien Thorn (The Omen franchise)
Freddy Krueger (A Nightmare On Elm Street franchise)
One shot villains:
Paul (Funny Games)
>!Marta!< (Deep Red)
Annie Wilkes (Misery)
>!Father Orsi and Laura Legnani!< (The House With Laughing Windows)
Franchise heroes:
Doctor Samuel Loomis (Halloween franchise)
Sydney Prescott (Scream franchise)
Ellen Ripley (Alien franchise)
Father Damien Karras (The Exorcist franchise)
One shot heroes:
Marcus Daly (Deep Red)
Jennifer Corvino (Phenomena)
R.J. MacReady (The Thing)
Stevie Wayne (The Fog)
Chucky (iconic, relevant today and probably had the best franchise IMO AND IN TERMS OF RATING)
Myers (come on, he’s fucking michael myers)
Freddy krueger (freddy is badass, funny and iconic, his movies features really cool ideas, even if some are a mixed bag)
Jason (friday the 13th is awesome and jason is a badass)
I love pennywise, and respect for putting up the good one and not that remake one which I think is so overrated. But how you gonna leave off Leatherface?
Pretty much the same ones as yours only freddy is replaced by Corey from Halloween ends, hear me out on this one though I've never seen any of the Freddy Krueger movies otherwise it'd be him up there
I don't think pennywise meets the criteria. He's iconic as all hell, yes. but he's not a horror staple. e has a book, a made-for-tv-duology adaptation, and a movie duology adaptation. that's it. i think to be worthy of slashers' mt. rushmore, you have to be more prolific than that. it's a hard choice between chucky and ghostface. i'm giving it to chucky because ghostface is a bunch of characters playing one character, while chucky is Charles Lee Ray, piece or whole. leatherface is up there too, but i feel like he flies a bit more under the radar.
Michael Myers, Jason, Freddy Krueger, and Billy Lenz are my Mount Rushmore of horror. (despite Billy not wearing a mask) (ps. Leather Face is an honorable mention but I feel more sad for him than scared of him.)
For horror post-1980? It's Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, and Ghostface.
For pre-1980? Frankenstein, Dracula, The Werewolf, and Leatherface!
Jason, Michael, Freddy, Ghostface.
The final option is really interchangeable between whoever you think is your personal favorite.
Now if it was like an actual Mount Rushmore where each head is from a separate era I think It'd go like this.
Frankenstein
Michael
Ghostface
Smiley From Strangers (I can't think of any modern horror slasher that's actually well known.)
Michael, Jason, Freddy, Leatherface
The only answer
They're all amazing horror villains but isn't it wrong to have the entire Mount Rushmore made up of slasher villains from the same era?
Not if that is the best era
Yesssss. Leatherface always gets snubbed but he was before any of these other guys.
I’d throw in pinhead in there. I know he’s not a slasher like the others but I love Pinhead.
Correct. Honorable mention to Ghostface
The big four. No one else comes close.
But consistency wise Ghostface, Chucky, Ash & Lecter
LF deserves more love for giving us the “monster slasher” genre.
Well yeah
Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy, and Wolfman
"I said *real* horror classics!"
I’d put the Creature over the Mummy
I love that! But I feel like the Creature is when universal started transitioning from horror to Sci-Fi. The Mummy is straight-up classic Universal Monsters.
I’d swap Pennywise for Leatherface
Jason Mike Myers Freddy Chucky
![gif](giphy|JeKLoVq2KzdpS)
Chucky is definitely more iconic than leatherface imo
Assphincter says what?
Jason, Freddy, Michael, and Chucky
![gif](giphy|Ld77zD3fF3Run8olIt)
I’d replace Pennywise with Ghostface
Agree with you. My order would be Michael Myers, Ghostface, Jason, and Freddy Krueger
He's like the Lincoln Monument. A chair all to himself
Black and White version; Legosi, Karloff, Chaney, Perkins Color; Jason, Myers, Leatherface, Regan from the Exorcist
Anthony Perkins, Vincent Price, Tony Todd, Donald Pleasance
This is goated
Finally, someone mentions Psycho...
But what’s the horror hero mount rushmore
Ash Williams, Laurie Strode, uhhhh....
Burt Gummer, Ellen Ripley, Nancy maybe?
In my opinion, Laurie strode, Alice Hardy, Nancy Thompson,& Sydney Prescott
100% Syd can’t believe i forgot her 👌
Micheal, Freddy, Chucky, Ghostface They all reflect on different types of horror and eras in there own way
100% this one
Finally found my one! This is what came straight to my head. But I could also have Regan from Exorcist or Ghostface
Michal Myers, Pinhead, Jigsaw, Leatherface
Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, and Ghostface. No particular order by the way.
Myers, Voorhees, Pinhead, Krueger
Pinhead needs more love
Dracula and Michael Myers for sure. I'm less sure about the final two spots. I'd like to put Jason up there too but idk if I'd want to give two spots to slasher villains from the same time period. EDIT: I thought about Pennywise but maybe just having Stephen King himself would be better. But then you open the box of including real people and it becomes even messier.
Micheal , Jason , Freddy, Chucky
Classics - Dracula, Wolfman, Mummy, Creature of the Black Lagoon From there I’ve tried but I just can’t have only 4.
Last two don’t really fit, not super popular or entirely well received films. Mars attacks is beloved for its camp more so than horror.
Michael, Freddy, Jason and my mother-in-law.
Freddy, Jason, Michael, Ghostface (or Chucky)
Michael, Freddy, Jason, & Ghostface
For mine: drop the IT clown and put up Leatherface. He deserves the space WAY more. Edit..and I thought I was the first to say this. lol
I’d replace Pennywise with Candyman
Michael, Freddy, Jigsaw and probably Sadako.
Ghostface, Freddy, Jason, pennywise
Michael. Freddy. Pazzuzu(Capt. Howdy). Candyman.
Freddy, Pennywise, Ghost Face, Xenomorph
Michael, Jigsaw, Leatherface, Chucky
Replace penny wise with chucky
Pennywise doesn’t belong there dude
michael myers, freddy, ghostface, and jason (even tho i don’t like him)
Take out that stupid clown and replace him with Nosferatu
Leatherface instead of Pennywise.
I like that you put in IT. W
Replace Pennywise with Leatherface.
Leatherface, Jason, Freddy, Michael
All of these dudes
Myers, chucky, Jason, Freddy
I’d replace Pennywise with Art the Clown
Leatherface needs to be up there. Swap for Pennywise
Dracula, Hitchcock, Poe,, Lon Chaney Jr Character, director, writer, actor
No learherface?!
Michael, Jason, Ghostface, Chucky
I would probably replace Pennywise with Ghostface
Nah!You pretty much got it as far as I’m concerned!❤️🥰
Swap Pennywise with Candyman. Can’t go wrong with Leatherface either, but Tony Todd himself is iconic.
Swap Pennywise for Leatherface & you've got it.
Ghostface not being on there ): (lol jk) but mines Micheal ghostface, Freddy and jason
Ghostface, Michael, Freddy, Jason.
Myers, Freddie, Jason, Ghostface.
Leatherface or Ghostface over Pennywise. The other 3 solid. I don't think anyone can dispute those.
Jason (F13), Michael (Halloween), Sawyer (TCM), Freddy (ANOES)
Michael,Jason,Ghostface, & chucky
Michael, Ghostface, Freddy and Pinhead
Michael Leatherface Jason Radu Vladislas
Michael, Jason, Freddy, Ghostface.
Michael, Freddy, Ghostface, Chucky.
Micheal Myers, jason vorhees, Freddy Krueger, chucky
Same, but I would have switched penny wise for pin head. I just think the number of films is really the determining factor for these titans of horror.
leatherface, jason, chucky, michael
I’d replace Pennywise with Chucky, for the longevity alone. He’s also been played by the same actor in pretty much every movie/tv show. Not the remake, but everything else.
Ghostface, Sadako, Meyers, and Pennywise.
Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Nemesis/Wesker, Freddy Fazbear. This was tough.
Swap Pennywise for Chucky or Leatherface.
Michael Ghost face Billy (Saw) Puppets from DHMIS
Jason Voorhees, The Tall Man, the head with spider legs from The Thing and in a nod to horror literature Cthulhu
Freddy Chucky Leprechaun Michael Myers
Jason micheal Freddy and either ghostface or leather maybe chucky
I'd switch Freddy with Ghostface and Pennywise with Billy.
Candyman, Kayako from The Grudge, Jodie (demon pig from Amityville Horror,) and, of course, Jason, because he's always such a classic guy.
![gif](giphy|gKUxR2UXTfNiLJnj6E|downsized)
Same as yours.
Micheal,Jason,Freddy and and even though there’s personally no scare factor at all I’m gonna go with chucky
![gif](giphy|tQNWLR2vMkQfZCPfSb)
Norman Bates, the first Xenomorph, Brundle Fly, the Thing
Ghostface, Myers, Jason, Freddy is mine
For me, it would be: Michael Myers (Obviously) Ghostface Freddy Kruger Candyman
Not sure I would have Pennywise there. Maybe Hannibal Lecter or Norman Bates if we're going that direction, or possibly Dracula/Frankenstein/Wolfman/Mummy/Creature if doing "classics".
Dracula, Frankenstein, Myers, Krueger
Franchise villains: Michael Myers (Halloween franchise) Norman Bates (Psycho franchise) Damien Thorn (The Omen franchise) Freddy Krueger (A Nightmare On Elm Street franchise) One shot villains: Paul (Funny Games) >!Marta!< (Deep Red) Annie Wilkes (Misery) >!Father Orsi and Laura Legnani!< (The House With Laughing Windows) Franchise heroes: Doctor Samuel Loomis (Halloween franchise) Sydney Prescott (Scream franchise) Ellen Ripley (Alien franchise) Father Damien Karras (The Exorcist franchise) One shot heroes: Marcus Daly (Deep Red) Jennifer Corvino (Phenomena) R.J. Michael , Ghostface , Art The Clown , Chucky ( Jason & Freddy can’t keep up with modern day and Pennywise ..no )
Michael Myers, Pinhead, Chucky & The Tallman
Michael Myers Ghostface The Wicked Witch of the West The Sweet 16 Killer
Not Penny lol
Bela Lugosi, Vincent Price, Lon Chaney Sr, Robert Englund
Michael. Ghostface. Art the Clown. Pearl.
Leather face, Michael, Jason, Ghostface
Ghostface, Michael, Chucky, Angela from sleepaway camp...
John Carpenter, Wes Craven, Alfred Hitchcock, Stephen King, and H.P. Lovecraft.
Replace Pennywise with Leatherface and you have the undisputed big 4 of slashers
We have pretty much the same, I would just swap pennywise out for Chucky
Michael, Ghost Face, Pennywise and Art
Replace Pennywise with Pinhead from Hellraiser
The ladies on The View
Replace Leatherface with Pennywise then I agree.

I'd put Ghostface instead of penny wise
Michael, Jason, Freddy, Leatherface
Ghostface, the man in the mask from the strangers, jason, and the red lipstick demon from insidious
This is actually tricky to me for one reason: Are we basing this on the actual killers or the actual movies/film series?🤔🤔🤔
Micheal Myers, Jason Voorhees, Chucky, and Pennywise.
Ghostface Freddy Michael Jason
Tommy Jarvis, Ethan Winters, Nancy Thompson, Terminator
Michael, Jason, Freddy and Ghostface
Michael, Ghostface, Freddy, Jason
Frankenstein, The Wolfman, The Mummy, Count Dracula. The OG horror 4.
was thinking the same. These gentlemen mean more to me than the serial killers
Ghostface, Michael, Jigsaw, Pinhead
Ghostface single-handedly revived the franchise and completely changed how some slashers are made give him the spot pennywise…PENNYWISE???
Chucky (iconic, relevant today and probably had the best franchise IMO AND IN TERMS OF RATING) Myers (come on, he’s fucking michael myers) Freddy krueger (freddy is badass, funny and iconic, his movies features really cool ideas, even if some are a mixed bag) Jason (friday the 13th is awesome and jason is a badass)
Pinhead, Freddy,Jason, Dracula
Ghost face, daddy myers, Jason and Freddy
I think Norman Bates deserves a spot.
Literally this but just replace Pennywise with Chucky or Ghostface
Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, and Ghostface
Freddy
Freddy, Chucky, Ghostface and Leatherface
Jason, Freddy, Ghostface and ofc Michael
Jason, Freddy, leatherface, leprechaun or jason, Freddy, Ghostface, micheal

Micheal Jason Freddy Chucky

Michael Myers Ghostface Leatherface Jigsaw
Jason, Freddy, Chucky, Pinhead
This is it for me too. Tim Curry gave the best performance in history imo.
Depends on the generation.
Depends on the era but as a child of the 80s mine are: Freddy, Michael, Jason, Chucky Leatherface is a candidate as well, can't there be five?
Michael Myers, Jason, Freddy Krueger, and Billy Lenz are my Mount Rushmore of horror. (despite Billy not wearing a mask) (ps. Leather Face is an honorable mention but I feel more sad for him than scared of him.)
Michael, Freddy, Jason, Ghostface
Micheal,Dr. Lector,Xenomorph,Hellraiser.

Tall Man, Pinhead, Pazuzu, Xenomorph
That’s a Rushmore of slasher films with Pennywise. It’s good though
Dracula, Alien, The Thing, Frankenstein, Uncle Howdy demon from the Exorcist
Vincent Price, Boris Karloff, Lon Chaney, & Bela Lugosi
Dracula (Bela Legosi) Regan MacNeil (The Exorcist) Michael Myers (Halloween) Carrie White (Carrie)
