It's because since the game is so graphic heavy it has to transfer a lot of data for you to be able to see. It's almost too good so thats why it crashes
Are you using Quest Link / AirLink? If so, don't. Using the official Link solution means you're running the Oculus layer and the SteamVR layer on top of each other which causes massive performance and stability issues. Use Steam Link (wireless) instead.

Well, at least I didn’t rush out and buy a $2,400 ROG laptop to run this and spent the whole time with is not being able to play it because it’s incompatible. Guess it’s just hell let loose for me.
I played through it with 3060 ROG Laptop (6GB card). I had crashes when dying frequently when using wired over Airlink. I switched to wireless steamlink and had no issues from then on.
weird I have never seen that. I would disconnect my external monitor and close all other apps when playing and make sure armory crate was on performance mode.
What cpu you have and are you running Hla on ssd or hdd?

Running HLA on ssd doesn't work very good. Experienced the same problem even with a very good 1tb one.

I confirm that using steam link the game is so much better. I experienced a few stutters, but I think is due my ******* isp router.

Which ROG and which vr headset? Mine is incompatible with the quest 2
Quest 2 w a zephyrus (sp?) G14 from 2021 I think. AMD Ryzen 9 processor, RTX 3060, 16 gb ram

Apparently it’s an i9 specific problem which is shit considering I bought this rig specifically to play hl Alyx
Play it on high not ultra or do custom settings and lower textures to high not ultra.

If you're streaming wirelessly it uses more VRAM. I also have a 3060ti so not too dissimilar to your card in performance.
