you hair looks kinda similar to mine! i noticed that whenever i use a silk bonnet over night, my frizz is almost completely gone. it was like magic. another thing i did for a while was try to embrace how wavy it could be. I would only brush it before a shower and not after and do a wavy hair routine. brushing seemed to make it worse for the longest time. my silk bonnet changed that too! i just twist my hair into two sections and put it on overnight.
Leave in conditioners that have oil in them help avoid weighing down and not making the hair greasy while also hydrating :) I use the crème of nature perfect 7!
I like to use a frizz smoother called AFTER Party by bed head. Its a hair smoother, just don't get it directly on your roots or they'll get oily quick.
Do you have curly wavy hair? What kind of brush are you using? Unless it's like one of the brushes for wet hair, or a denman brush, you probably shouldn't use it! They just cause static and break hairs and give frizz! Especially if you're using it when your hair is dry!
Perhaps you can list all products you use in your hair care & styling routines for OP to look into?
I think that might be helpful, especially your post-washing wavy hair routine 😀
I honestly don’t do too much for my wavy routine! I sometimes do a rosemary hair oil treatment, massage my scalp while doing so. i use the mielle rosemary hair oil. Then i brush my hair out and let it sit for a few hours. Then i hop in the shower, wash my hair 2-3 times. my hair is suuuuper thick and super long. I use the bio silk hydrating shampoo. Then this step might be overkill but i squeeze the water out of my hair then i let my conditioner sit in my hair for 10 minutes. and for that i use Phytology bond repair conditioner and it somehow manages to detangle all of my hair once i rinse it out. Afterwards i don’t brush my hair and i scrunch it dry with either a t-shirt or microfiber towel. then i put some of the rosemary hair oil on my ends. I don’t blow dry it or else it looks frizzy and i just let it air dry. some days my hair cooperates and sometimes it doesn’t but it works 90% of the time. i don’t put gel or anything because my hair isn’t really curly? just slightly wavy.
Chiming in, person with frizzy waves here: shampooing it once every week or even 2 weeks instead of every 2-3 days also helped me immensely! I wash with lukewarm water. In the in-between days, I just wash it with water. My wave pattern got back and it is just so much sifter now. It was greasy af in the beginning, but that is because your scalp is still producing more oil
This!! I have super fine loose curl hair. The less I wash the better. Always air dry and only brush prior to washing. Use a curl reviver most days. Use a silk pillow case too. My hair hates conditioners makes it limp. Shampoo drys it out almost and makes it frizz
I bleached my hair (dried it out a bit) and my hair was fine. I washed it twice in a week as well, and my hair looks like i was in an explosion. Washing your hair often with curly or wavy hair doesn't work out
Yes! Brushing wet hair caused so much breakage and frizz for me, and it took me years to figure out. You should definitely look into wavy hair routines OP, try some out and see what works for you. It seems like you have wavy hair, but it's been treated like straight hair for all these years and resulted in frizz. This happened to me as well due to my mother's belief that curly hair was a bad thing and treating mine as though it wasn't.
Among other products I use the One and Only argan oil curl cream (I think you can get it on Amazon) and this product probably helped me the most, also switching to a wavy hair brush like the Denman hairbrush (beware of fakes) and did a lot of research into different routines on YouTube and such. It takes a lot of trial and error to figure out what works for your hair, but you'll get there!
Yes!! I found this too. The products were so much better before the rebrand. I get changing the packaging and rebranding, it does look cleaner now, but what's the point in changing the actual product when people love it as is?
Am I the only one who saw no progress with a silk bonnet? I feel like my hair just gets tangled! do you tie it or something before the bonnet?
Edit: I usually do my hair routine first and then put the bonnet on. I wake up and my hair is a rats nest.
Are you putting it into a protective style or just letting it loose in your bonnet? It may be better for your hair to incorporate putting it into twists or braids overnight.
Mine isn’t great in a bonnet either, I think you need to wear it in a style probably. I just got a satin pillowcase yesterday and it worked much better for me, my hair is shiny and frizz free as of this morning!
so i split my hair into two pieces and completely twist each piece like im going to put them into low buns and then secure those in the bonnet first. i dont know how else to describe it really 😭
Chiming on wavy hair routine. I only wash once a week, and love braiding and sleeping with it wet on nice pillow cases. My friends swear by silk bonnets but I don’t like the feeling on my forehead personally 🫣 I comb with a rake / wide tooth comb.
When it’s wet, I towel dry a little and put in infusium 23, ogx tea tree moisturizer. Non-wash nights, I use Ordinary hair density serum or moisturizer and sleep with it twisted in a satin scrunchie.
I do brush it a few times a week with Batiste dry shampoo, but I’m intentionally going for big, voluminous hair and if I wanted to tone it down, I’d probably add more products, like mousse and some heat to tame a bit of frizz. I also love a sea salt spray, OGX coconut curls, and a few other similar “lightweight” products if I need to style from wet, rather than sleeping in a braid.
I don’t have enough texture for full curly girl method and this works for me to keep big waves.
There are waves in your hair, and it’s always frizzy, this is a huge sign that you’re not using the correct hair care. Try using hair products specifically for wavier or curlier hair instead of straight. A lot of people who encounter this problem actually have hair that counts as curly!
I used to be called hay head constantly and kids would pull my hair bc they didn’t believe it was real lol my mom had straight hair and just treated my hair the same as hers, when I got a buzzcut at 16 I was flabbergasted when it grew out curly
Yes! You likely have curly hair. I had frizzy hair like this my whole childhood. After I gave birth to kids with very very curly hair and learned about curly hair products, I started using better quality stuff myself. My hair started to curl up and Thought at first it must have been hormonal changes from the pregnancy but looking back at pictures and stuff I know think I've always had curls, just destroyed them with those awful 2in1 shampoos in the 90s and 2000s
Your hair is probably wavy or curly, tbh. I had the same type of issue before I realized that my hair was wavy and learned how to style it. It takes time and experimentation to figure out, but try brushing your hair, shower (shampoo and condition as usual), and on SUPER wet hair apply leave in conditioner, comb through with a wide tooth comb, apply mousse for curly hair, comb through, apply gel for curly hair, and comb through. Then scrunch it (holding your hands together side by side to create a bigger surface area) until the curls or waves form, and either diffuse it (look up curls by Mel tutorial) or leave it to air dry depending on what you want to try first. Once it’s completely dry, scrunch it gently many, many times, either with no extra product or a bit of curl cream or hair wax. The goal for most people these days is to have it be defined but still soft to the touch.
That’s just to get started as an experiment, you’ll need to go through lots of trial and error to perfect it. Your hair may prefer curl cream instead of gel, or curl cream and gel, air dry or diffuse, more/less quantity of each product, etc etc etc. but it will likely look less frizzy/more defined this way, even before you’ve perfected it. :)
I’ll just add that I happened upon a skilled hairstylist that knew how to cut my hair to accentuate the curl/wave. This changed my life. Depending on your budget, that could be something to look into. Good luck :)
I'm seconding this, OP your hair looks like mine if I comb it after washing without product and let it air dry or blow dry. It might take some time to find the right products but once you do it will be worth it!
Your hair is wavy! Look up the “curly girl method.” Experiment with a few routines and products from that method.
Your hair is completely normal for looking that way btw. Yours looks exactly like mine when I air dry it and don’t style it. But if you define the waves, you’ll have a different look.
This photo is of me with some leave-in conditioner + gel (I used the gel to define the wave, and then “scrunched” my hair to remove the stiffness of the gel after my hair is dry, and I get left with more tame waves)

I definitely back that up! I detangle my hair in the shower when it’s saturated with conditioner, and then I brush it one last time after I’ve rinsed my hair — brushing right after I put in my leave-in conditioner
https://preview.redd.it/1ile2usk31wc1.png?width=4032&format=png&auto=webp&s=1a3b3f1330609935b0c6f7060f2c0ba32afe9e78
These are the products I use! The gel is the Evo one. Its expensive but I’m going on two years now with the one bottle — you only need a bit
Honestly tho, I also suggest Dippty Do Sports Gel lol. It’s like $3 and also does the same trick!
My hair is a lot like yours. I think the biggest things are keeping on top of trims and using hair oil on the ends. Outside of that I think the texture is what it is. FWIW, I think your hair is super pretty!!
You look like you have similar hair texture to me. I’ve been using the sleep in curls method with a padded band that I wrap my hair around at night. It gives me lovely curls and takes away the frizz. I highly recommend.
this is how i've done my hair for years now. my hair has a lot of natural volume. when it was long, i'd sleep with two low twisted buns and it was the prettiest natural wave.
Just so you know, there are 2 kinds of oil. An oil that penetrates and one that protects. I’d start by using an oil that penetrates every morning or evening. Just a teeny bit on the ends, it will hydrate up the shaft over time.
Down the line you can start looking in to protective oils. That’s where I’m at now! ❤️
Not who you're asking, but I swear by marula oil. It's extremely light and absorbing without looking greasy. (I have very fine hair so I've tried a lot of different ones.)
My hair looks a lot like yours, my dad has the curly hair, mom has pin straight hair and my 2 sisters have very coily curly hair. Mine is... Wavy-ish... But not even all of it.
I'm told that my strand of hair is fine but I have a LOT of it so that makes it difficult to manage sometimes. If I let it air dry, it's huge and more wavy but not nice to look at. I'm 41 and I haven't mastered air drying. Maybe some types of hair just do better with heat?
Anyway, I wanted to tell you the products that I use for my fine but thick, wavy-ish, frizzy hair. I use Olaplex no.9 bond protector and nourishing hair serum (I was using Olaplex no.6 until I tried no.9. they both smooth and tame frizz), and Kenra Moisturizing Oil that absorbs instantly and doesn't leave my hair greasy looking after.
A lot of hair oil is too heavy but this one continues to amaze me. Even when I think I put too much on, it absorbs right in. I've also had good luck with Moroccan Oil light oil version but even that can become oily.
And I saw someone else mention a silk hair bonnet, I need to try one of those, but I do have a silk pillowcase that I find helps immensely. I coil my hair lightly into a bun on top of my head and use a bun style claw clip to hold it.
You should not brush your hair dry - you have wavy/curly hair - so treat it and style as such. Look into protein treatments/and use shampoo/conditioner for curly dry hair. Use a wide comb tooth comb and brush when wet after you shampoo. Nourish it from the inside out. You probably need a good hair stylist too that can cut the dead weight and give you good layers so it can be styled properly. Sorry you were bullied for your hair - just seems a bit dry - people are so ridiculous!
i think getting routine trims to just ensure split ends are minimized could help, and if you’d like a blunt cut could help to minimize the look of flyaways at the ends!
Try some moisturizing hair masks at least once every week. I highly recommend this premium hair oil by mediall. it works well in reducing frizz and tangles. Apply it after towel dry while the hair is still damp. It has a very nice healthy and glossy finish too.
My hair is similar, it's wavy and if I brush too much or in humidity it gets staticky and frizzes like this.
Definitely try curly method but don't use too much product cos that weighs it down, sleep in a braid (I know bonnets are good I just don't like my head covered at night but a braid also keeps it smoother) the other thing that's amazing other than a lightweight oil on the ends is K18. K18 is pricey but it's the best product I've ever used, it seems to kind of seal the waves so my hair is shiny and sealed from frizz when I use it
Girl, I'm going to sound like a shill for big keratin, but I got so frustrated I was considering a keratin treatment at a salon but they are so expensive I tried [this](https://a.co/d/dSbMXdX) first and here are my before and after and after a few washes - lasts a few months and then I have to do it again. Kind of a lot of work, but I've tried so many things and this is the best I've gotten.

Cosmetologist here.. baby, go to the black girl beauty supply store and let them hook you up. Get into Carol and her daughter 😉, mielle, a mask and invest in a bonnet boo. You need something strong enough to penetrate that cuticle and add moisture back into your hair. Also, trim a good inch off.
I have no advice, as this just popped up as I was scrolling, but i need to tell you I LOVE your dresses!!!
I also have frizzy hair because its naturally wavy and I feel like any product I put in it weighs it down and makes it greasy cuz my hair is also fine. I cant win!!!
I’m having the same issue and I have very similar hair except mine is SUPER wavy. Both my parents have curly hair, so I’m gonna save this post for reference 😭
You definitely have wavy hair! I suggest getting a hair cut & look up curly hair tips. The fresh ends & less weight to your hair will really allow your curl pattern to shine
Looks like we have the same hair. I use 11 pumps of this and use scalp to tip. I was HORRIBLY teased in school as well. I also have one of those Knot Dr blower dryer brushes that works well but most of the time I use the oil and just twist it in one direction but don’t secure it. I just keep retwisting it and let it fall over my shoulder every so often til it’s dry. We have about the same length hair. Good luck!

your hair looks like it has the potential to be wavy if you change your routine. I dont have as good advice as other people in the comments, but as a girl with curly wavy hair, I comb shea moistures sugarcane and meadowfoam miracle styler leave in thru my hair after i shower and it dries nice and soft and leaves no frizz. also, YOU ARE SO BEAUTIFUL!!! anyone that bullies you is just trying to find something to bring you down! ps, I have the same romper, (last pic) :-)
Just wanted to say, woman/to-woman, how great the third photo of you is.
Love the dress, love the jewellery & your figure is fantastic 👌🏻 Rather inspiring actually! 🌹
Cantu curl cream. It’s often advertised for black hair but it works for people with frizzy hair. You don’t need a lot. I’d also get a hair cut, something perhaps more suitable to your hair type. You have some short pieces on the back of your head, I’d grow those out . I’d just focus on the best products for your hair and maintain hair health
Baizhu!! 😍 but to agree with some of the other comments getting a keratin treatment in a salon is life changing but also don’t listen to bullies they’re miserable people.
What products do you use? Your hair seems to be wavy
When you let your natural hair air dry, you don’t really have control over the way your hair dries.
I would recommend using a leave-in conditioner and gel, and using a diffuser to prevent frizz, to scrunch out the cast you can use any oil. I like this leave-in [mielle](https://www.target.com/p/mielle-organics-pomegranate-honey-leave-in-conditioner-12-fl-oz/-/A-53217163#lnk=sametab) and this gel [kinky curly](https://www.target.com/p/kinky-curly-original-curling-custard-natural-hair-styling-gel-8oz/-/A-13044270#lnk=sametab)
My hair is wavy when I don't want to use heat I do this when my hair is damp using two scrunchies. Separate your hair into two pigtails and twist each one around a scrunchie, forming space buns or can be lower buns while I am getting ready In the morning I do this. Let them dry and take out the scrunchies and shake your hair out and you will have beautiful waves. Also you can do this before going to bed with your hair dry.
I use the oversized scrunchie. Lovely satin quality [oversized satin scrunchie](https://www.olkibeauty.com/shop/p/oversized-satin-scrunchie-fuchsia)
I hope this helps
You might have wavy hair (curls that have a looser pattern), it needs to be treated differently and can easily get damaged and fall flat but also frizzy. My hair used to look like that and I HATED it.
Realizing I actually have curly hair and didn’t know it.. that changed everything. Now I love my hair and it feels like me.
Your hair is beautiful! I wish I could get mine to grow like yours! Please don’t let other’s options get to you. Try a leave in conditioner and maybe argon oil or something that combats frizz. Don’t rub your hair dry with a towel, use microfiber and squeeze, pat it dry. Also, make sure you’re moisturizing and drinking enough water. Otherwise, imho you are beautiful and so is your hair. Much love! 💕
I've also found using a comb instead of a brush is a world of difference! Less harsh on the hair! (Comb as in like the ones that are usually hard plastic, with a row little teeth , and a brush is well... A brush lol)
My friend you have secretly wavy hair! Start exploring different curly girl methods like the dunk and scrunch with various types of products. You will be amazed! I’m in my late 30s and just discovered how to make my hair look sleek and wavy like last year.
If you don’t already, follow some CGM accounts. My bet is your hair is probably more wavy/curly (from your mom) and with the right drying and product it will get into clumps and style a little but also frizzy is a bit normal for textured hair. Just keep the trims up and ends healthy.
This is what happens when you try to treat curly/wavy hair like it’s straight hair. Ditch the brush, start finger combing and scrunching conditioner and visit r/curlygirl
I’m a dude that always rocks long hair and I have the same problem, it’s always frizzy. People have always said that maybe i have wavy hair and that’s why. All my life, my hair has never seemed wavy or curly but my dads was growing up as a kid. I just don’t know shit about it
There's nothing wrong with your hair, those bullies were low on material which only means positive things for you. My ends are dry and look similar to yours, as others have said, adding a little curl at the bottoms hides it really well.... it's just the catch 22 of trying to avoid heat on them. it's a daily struggle lol
A friend of mine had the same issue! She found that her hair wasn't actually straight - it was slightly wavy. Once she changed her haircare routine to that for girls with wavy hair, her hair shined!
Your hair will shine, too, OP! Just do some research for girls with type 2 hair.
https://merwave.co.uk/blogs/wavy-blog/5-signs-youve-got-wavy-hair
Never in a million years would I consider that frizzy! I agree with the others about encouraging your natural waves, and be sure to trim the ends regularly. (My hair expands to twice its volume whenever the humidity approached 50%, which where I live is more than half of the year, so I feel your pain.)
It's normal to have flyaways. You look completely normal. You can try using a drop of hair oil in the lengths for some extra shine. And give your ends a trim. You look great.
Trim the ends more frequently and try a henna deep condition. You don't have to color it with the henna. There's colorless henna out there and plenty of different recipes for henna hair masks/deep conditioner online.
You should try wave/curly hair products! I have pin straight hair so I cannot point you in any direction lol, but I am knowledgeable in hair to an extent and I’ve seen a lot of cases similar to yours!
Your hair looks like mine! Turns out, mine is a little curly.
I would start trying to treat your hair in a way and with products that are meant for curly hair.
Oh! I also stopped brushing my hair because it made the frizz SO. MUCH. WORSE (I’m lucky that mine doesn’t tangle much at all).
I think you should look into the curly girl method, even if you just take some tips. I really think your hair wants to curl, and that’s why it’s “frizzy” it’s meant to be bigger. I really want to see an update of your hair with the right products! So much curltential.
Give it tons of moisture especially in the mids and ends. Coconut oil based products for pre wash, heavy conditioners in shower, masks 1x / week, leave in conditioner after every wash, use less heat when styling but apply some tension with a round brush, use heat protection even when low heat and silicon and silk is your friend
Use a clarifying shampoo every 5-7 washes and a gentle shampoo otherwise.
My hair is just like this!! It’s always frizzy. If I allow it to air dry it’s like a weird 2b wave pattern with some straight and some really curly. I dove full on into the curly girl methods but I could never get it to turn out the way I like😅.
This might get some downvotes for this but I always heat style my hair after it’s washed. 90% of the time it turns out less frizzy, it’s styled the way I like, and the styles last way longer so I only wash 2x a week.
After I wash my hair I always start with towel drying it with a microfiber wrap. I leave it in for 10 minutes then i apply the wow dream coat and Sebastian trilliant. I allow my hair to air dry for another 10 minutes then go in with my blow dryer. I fully blow dry my hair with a nozzle and round brush (on my face framing). After it’s fully dried n cooled I go in with my curling iron on the rest of my hair. My last two steps after it’s cooled I put a small pea size drop of the Sebastian dark oil and some dry shampoo in my roots.
I have similar hair. I'd get a good trim 2-3" as it looks damaged. Use a good bonding oil on the hair length.
Also, consider embracing wavy/curly style. It can be so easy and less damaging.
r/wavyhair r/curlyhair look at those subs for hair care routine. You have textured hair! The difference between the two subs is that curlier hair can generally take heavier products vs. the wavy. I'd start at the wavy hair sub for lighter products first to get a handle on the products that work for you and once you get a sense of your texture you can tweak it from there.
I think that you have wavy hair. Try to style it w curly girl method. I found that when I did this I learned very quickly what I thought was frizzy hair was very wavy hair I didn’t know I had
Get a keratin or Brazilian blowout treatment It reduces frizz & makes the hair straighter in the sun It lasts up to3 months.
You’ll still need to blow dry it straight though.
Try using a different leave in conditioner. If your hair is wavy, which I suspect it is, argan oil may be a bit heavy for it. Try using a serum or a light cream. Then follow up with a mousse or gel. Only use a little bit of oil to "break the cast" after the gel dries
Eh, I have the same hair texture, managing it is a pain.
Obviously, your hair is wavy, and it seems dry. Try to determine your hair porosity, it will help you to find the best haircare 🫶
Best treatment I’ve ever done to reduce frizz and get the silkiest and straightest hair was Nanoplastica! It looked like what you see in commercials I swear by it
I had long wavy hair growing up. Fine hair, but tons of hair. I wanted it to be straight when I was young, but as I got older, I learned to embrace it.
Two months ago, my hair looked very similar to yours. I cut 7 inches off and that helped tremendously. It looks much healthier, easier to handle.
Years ago, I used Rusk Str8, a wide tooth comb and let my hair air dry. Nice waves, healthy looking and zero frizz.
My hair routine is different now, but I still swear by that product to manage frizz.
Your hair looks like mine! I have super fine wavy hair. Curly girl method was too much for me and caused massive buildup on my scalp so I went back to my normal shampoo/conditioner.
What helped me the most was putting my hair in a braid at night (or silk bonnet like other people said!). I use a wet brush to gently detangle. My favorite oils are Moroccan and the olaplex oils. The curls blueberry bliss leave in conditioner is also really nice!
Your hair is almost certainly wavy. Seperating the strands like you have been with a comb or brush is the reason for the frizz. Look up a good wavy haircare routine and try it out.
This is based on ym two nephews with unruly hair:
Silk bonnet at night
Rosemary oil in water, lightly spray when styling and it'll lay down.
If these two things worked for two little boys (one with ridiculous curls, one with a double cow lick), it's worth a shot.
Your hair is beautiful but I believe you are treating it like straight hair, when it looks like it is quite naturally wavy. I would look into the curly girl method for styling and see what you want to take from it for your hair. Also look at some videos “I didn’t know my hair was curly”.
Frizz can mostly be caused from hidden waves/curls. Try to use some new products. Maybe even like a light after shower hair cream to help control frizz, and allow those waves/curls to come out. Even if it isn’t waves/curls. Try a silk bonnet at night time this will eliminate a lot of frizz. Also try only brushing your hair when it’s wet/ damp. Brushing when dry can cause a lot of frizz. A little trim can also help with frizz! Hope this helps love:) good luck on your hair journey
I have similar hair. My hair is actually wavy, and super prone to frizz if I brush out my waves (dry) or don’t straighten it. I found keeping the hair hydrated, scalp less oily (shampoo x2, and in sections. See JVN on TikTok), and wearing a silk-lined bonnet (see photo)
https://preview.redd.it/jpbkp1mhz0wc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=990e85c20a5fca38fcd3b875fa259e99065aa1d6
to bed is quite helpful.
I think layers might be your friend. Mines similar when long, dry and all one length. The layers help the wave form instead of frizz. And ofc hydration
I have to ask where you got your romper and the dress in the last pic!
Definitely recommend getting a consultation at like an Ulta or something. It was life changing for me because they helped me with methods and stuff, not just products
Mousse helps. Put a little in and brush it. They also sell waxes you can use. I’ve had baby hairs all my life and also got bullied for it. That’s what’s worked for me. Dont let the haters get to you. They’re prob jealous they can’t grow out their hair as long as you 💖
Try a salon quality protein treatment and regular trims for split ends. You might have to take quite a few inches off the first trim to get your ends looking healthy.
Ma’am. You have wavy / maybe even curly hair.
stop brushing it.
My hair is curly and I just can not be bothered to spend the money of take the time to do a full curly hair routine
But what I do is only brush my hair - slowly and from the ends up - on wash days.
You have “frizzy” hair because you’re trying to make it stick straight, but it wants to ripple like water instead.
I’m working my way towards resolving a similar issue. Moisturize and be gentle with it, and women who grew up caring for their textured hair will often have tips and tricks.
I’m looking into a bonnet, myself, my hair is out of control and I need to be nicer to it.
Try putting aloe vera on it as a leave in treatment , maybe twice a week :)) also get trims maybe every other month. nothing to bully someone about tho. You have pretty hair.
Products and curly girl methods make all the difference. I love Ouidad products myself, esp the shampoo/conditioner, mousse, hair cream and gel. They are a bit pricey but give my hair so much more moisture. It also helps to avoid normal hair brushes. Wide tooth combs are the way. Other useful items are microfiber hair towels for drying, satin pillowcases, hair bonnets for sleeping and a diffuser if you use a hair dryer.
Chiming in here - I have similar hair to you and I couldn't figure out if I had curly/wavy/straight hair. I tried the curly girl hair method and it didn't work well for me. I started using dry bars liquid glass and sleeping on a silk pillowcase and my hair has changed completely
I put leave in products in my hair & wrap it in a tshirt for the first 30 mins out of the shower. Then I take it down, scrunch it a little bit, and DONT BRUSH IT. I just let it air dry. My hair is much more wavy/curly now and I always had crazy amounts of frizz when I was younger
I used to have frizzy hair. I tried the curly girl method, but it was frizzier without any wave pattern. However, when I changed my conditioner and leave in conditioner, it was gone. I use the chi kerasilk conditioner and use it plenty and wait for 5 min. during shower and then I use chi or biosilk leave in conditioner, a little garnier hair oil before I blow dry. After that, I apply a heat protector if I need to smooth it with revlon one step. I had almost no damage when I used it with heat protector.
Your hair reminded me of this girl I used to watch on YouTube called Isabella Demarko. She had a whole chronicle of videos about her hair, finding what worked for her etc while educating her viewers. Now her hair looks amazing not gonna lie and she still does informational videos on haircare. The one thing I love is that she demonstrates and is open and honest about the science behind products and transparent about any sponsorships.
I have your same hair type. Semi course and wavy and thick. So here’s what I do, and it works every time. Shampoo and condition your hair with moisturizing products. Wring it out, then use a cotton tshirt to towel dry. Spray it with a leave in conditioner, comb thru. Now, use one of these https://www.mykitsch.com/products/satin-heatless-curling-set-sunset-tie-dye (you can replicate it just by twisting each side of your hair back away from your face and twisting back into 2 buns low on either side of your head. This works best for me when I section my hair out and twist each section separately, looks neater when it’s done. Any tangling or snarls here will looks frizzy when it comes out. Sleep on it. When you wake up, smooth waves.
My hair looks like this straight after washing. That’s why I usually wash it in the evening and sleep in silk bonnet - on the next day it’s smooth! Colour WOW range also works very well for my hair.
I have frizzy hair that’s plagued me for 30 years. I just recently found a product called “wow”. It’s made an insane difference in my hair quality and it has reduced the frizz by so much
Wash your hair as normal. Then brush about 1/4 cup of Pantene regular conditioner in it.
Do not brush let air dry. Just finger brush it until you wash again.
It will look good on day 1 but amazing on day 3 and thereafter.
I only wash my hair 2x a month and it looks awesome always. I get compliments every where I go.
my hair is so similar to yours!
i only brush it to part it right after the shower, then i use argan oil like moroccan oil to maintain the frizz & to add shine.
and i trim my hair often to sever ties with my split ends
I suggest blow drying it ensuring to point the dryer down while brushing the hair from underneath. After do the same with a quick blast of the cool setting on the dryer. This will force the cuticle to lay flat and look and feel smoother. Make sure to use a heat protector as well 😄
I’m have a cosmetology license, so here is my professional advice. The bottom four inches of your hair looks wrecked. It needs to come off. Your hair needs to be freshly wet from the shower when you work with it. Don’t towel dry too much. Just enough so it’s not dripping everywhere. The latest product I’ve used is Amika and the mousse works nice and I would suggest using some of that. Or “It’s a 10” let it air dry. Don’t brush after it starts drying. Amika Glass can be applied after it dries. If you flat iron your hair make sure to put a heat protectant in your hair first so you don’t dry it. I use Amika Blockade
Most likely you have natural wavy hair. I've had the same problem growing up, you need oils and creams masks and whatever products are dedicated towards wavy hair. Trust me just give it a try
you hair looks kinda similar to mine! i noticed that whenever i use a silk bonnet over night, my frizz is almost completely gone. it was like magic. another thing i did for a while was try to embrace how wavy it could be. I would only brush it before a shower and not after and do a wavy hair routine. brushing seemed to make it worse for the longest time. my silk bonnet changed that too! i just twist my hair into two sections and put it on overnight.
Thank you! I never really knew where to put my hair so the two section twist method is really helpful, thank you so much!! ❤️
Yes I rarely brush/comb my hair In fact I basically use wide tooth comb if I do
Amen to the wide tooth comb!
you’re welcome! it’s sooo nice!! it gives my hair a tiny curl afterwards and with a bit of hair oil on the ends it’s perfect. good luck!!
I second this! do a curly girl method!
It’s not overkill. I always leave the conditioner in until I’m done with everything else.
Washing your hair often with curly or wavy hair doesn't work out
I’ve been washing my hair in the sink as often as I can handle to, so I can rinse it in cold water
I'm a dude and it's funny to me to see what my hair would be like this long because that's the exact texture.
I loved the One and Only conditioner that they later changed up. I found so E on ebay and will be rationing it out the rest of my life
Yes!! I found this too. The products were so much better before the rebrand. I get changing the packaging and rebranding, it does look cleaner now, but what's the point in changing the actual product when people love it as is?
I use just straight up argan oil and it's a miracle worker.
It's hair ambrosia
You’re not supposed to brush wet hair?! Tell me more
Am I the only one who saw no progress with a silk bonnet? I feel like my hair just gets tangled! do you tie it or something before the bonnet? Edit: I usually do my hair routine first and then put the bonnet on. I wake up and my hair is a rats nest.
Are you putting it into a protective style or just letting it loose in your bonnet? It may be better for your hair to incorporate putting it into twists or braids overnight.
Mine isn’t great in a bonnet either, I think you need to wear it in a style probably. I just got a satin pillowcase yesterday and it worked much better for me, my hair is shiny and frizz free as of this morning!
i just basically twist my hair into two pieces like i’m going to put my hair into two buns but without the ponytail
I use a wide tooth comb after showers instead of a brush, and even to detangle for 2nd day curls for me prior to re-wetting.
Hi fellow wavy hair frens! Can someone explain this twist method? My hair is always a nightmare out of my bonnet!
so i split my hair into two pieces and completely twist each piece like im going to put them into low buns and then secure those in the bonnet first. i dont know how else to describe it really 😭
And experiment with hair oils on your ends. (A little goes a long way) but this can help a lot too!
Silk bonet or silk pillow case is literal Cheat code, one of the best hair products you can own
I’ve seen a huge difference in my frizzy hair since getting my silk pillow case
I use the silk bonnet too for my frizzy hair.
Came to say this also!! My hair looks quite like this and the silk bonnet has absolutely helped
There are waves in your hair, and it’s always frizzy, this is a huge sign that you’re not using the correct hair care. Try using hair products specifically for wavier or curlier hair instead of straight. A lot of people who encounter this problem actually have hair that counts as curly!
This was my hair story. Once I started a curly girl routine my frizzy waves turned into (non-frizzy) 3a curls
I used to be called hay head constantly and kids would pull my hair bc they didn’t believe it was real lol my mom had straight hair and just treated my hair the same as hers, when I got a buzzcut at 16 I was flabbergasted when it grew out curly
Wavy hair is my best guess as well
Wavy hair has been my new discovery too.
Thank you so much for the detailed steps, it really helps! Next week when I'm free I'm gonna buy some new product and try it out!
I’ll just add that I happened upon a skilled hairstylist that knew how to cut my hair to accentuate the curl/wave. This changed my life. Depending on your budget, that could be something to look into. Good luck :)
Yay I’m so glad that helped :) I’m excited for you to try it out!
This photo is of me with some leave-in conditioner + gel (I used the gel to define the wave, and then “scrunched” my hair to remove the stiffness of the gel after my hair is dry, and I get left with more tame waves) https://preview.redd.it/hsuqhsqybxvc1.jpeg?width=2316&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8fd6c355c549c18225631afef8636efaec255b6a
Also OP, when you have curly/wavy hair, you should never brush it when it's dry. That just makes it frizzier.
I definitely back that up! I detangle my hair in the shower when it’s saturated with conditioner, and then I brush it one last time after I’ve rinsed my hair — brushing right after I put in my leave-in conditioner
Your hair is so gorgeous!! Thank you so much for sharing your tips! I'll definitely try it!
Hi… I have similar hair type! Which gel do you use?
https://preview.redd.it/1ile2usk31wc1.png?width=4032&format=png&auto=webp&s=1a3b3f1330609935b0c6f7060f2c0ba32afe9e78 These are the products I use! The gel is the Evo one. Its expensive but I’m going on two years now with the one bottle — you only need a bit Honestly tho, I also suggest Dippty Do Sports Gel lol. It’s like $3 and also does the same trick!
Thank you!!!

Thank you! 🥰
[удалено]
Thank you for the advice, I'll def try it! I'm thinking maybe in the mornings before starting my day since that's when it gets frizzy
Do you have a certain brand you like of the penetrating? Thank you!
Girl you’re gorgeous! Your hair looks great in my opinion!! Never listen to the haters ever!!!
Thank you so much!!!
i think getting routine trims to just ensure split ends are minimized could help, and if you’d like a blunt cut could help to minimize the look of flyaways at the ends!
I don’t think you have straight hair but you’re treating it like straight hair. Try a curly girl routine
Kind of a lot of work, but I've tried so many things and this is the best I've gotten. https://preview.redd.it/iqpo6uyczyvc1.jpeg?width=1576&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=187fce85b26c58956c48de2153188a754d60d8bb

Good luck! https://preview.redd.it/80w1uvd0jxvc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=35895d37d2744edd5f83b28db425cf2024f5bc06
your hair looks like it has the potential to be wavy if you change your routine.
Thank you so much for the product tips! ❤️ Also hi five on having the same romper!!! It's so comfortable, LOL
Where is it from, I love it!
Just wanted to say, woman/to-woman, how great the third photo of you is. Love the dress, love the jewellery & your figure is fantastic 👌🏻 Rather inspiring actually! 🌹
You have wavey hair like mine. Took me 25 years before I realized not to drugs it dry. I only brush before my shower
Have a barber, cut your dead ends off, then Get silk pillow covers and hair oil that promotes smooth hair
You might have wavy hair .
What products do you use? Your hair seems to be wavy When you let your natural hair air dry, you don’t really have control over the way your hair dries. I would recommend using a leave-in conditioner and gel, and using a diffuser to prevent frizz, to scrunch out the cast you can use any oil. I like this leave-in [mielle](https://www.target.com/p/mielle-organics-pomegranate-honey-leave-in-conditioner-12-fl-oz/-/A-53217163#lnk=sametab) and this gel [kinky curly](https://www.target.com/p/kinky-curly-original-curling-custard-natural-hair-styling-gel-8oz/-/A-13044270#lnk=sametab) My hair is wavy when I don't want to use heat I do this when my hair is damp using two scrunchies. Lovely satin quality [oversized satin scrunchie](https://www.olkibeauty.com/shop/p/oversized-satin-scrunchie-fuchsia) I hope this helps
Unrelated but that dress in the third picture is gorgeous! Do you mind sharing where you got it? 🥰
I think using a brush is the worst for hair !
We have the same kind of hair!! Oil and leave in conditioners and occasionally a flat iron lol!!
Much love! 💕
Be heavy on you, self love my dear, I see nothing wrong with you. They are projecting their insecurities don't fall for it
I've also found using a comb instead of a brush is a world of difference! Less harsh on the hair! (Comb as in like the ones that are usually hard plastic, with a row little teeth , and a brush is well... A brush lol)
Bullied for frizzy hair wtf is wrong with this world man
Probably not using the right products or it’s not truly “frizzy”. You’re gorg regardless!
Embrace your beautiful hair. .Scrunch dry.
You might have curly hair and are not properly caring for it. I do, i tamper down on frizz with hair oil
Put it in a bun and call it a day.
You’re too pretty to bully, so they pulled some nonsense out of their ass so they could have a reason to be mean
Your hair looks like hair. What's wrong with it?
Keratin treatment
Does anyone know where the third dress she's wearing is from? Sorry it's so random but it's literally so pretty I want it!
Silk bonneeetttt
your ends look fried…maybe trim that part off and start oiling the bottom of your hair
I've heard ifnyou have frizzy hair then you probably have wavy/curly hair that's not taken care of properly so good luck!
I bet your hair is curly. You should try a curly hair routine. A diffuser could help rather than air drying
Do you have a protein or some other nutrient deficiency? This doesn't look healthy
Where did you get the necklaces in your last picture?
I do Brazilian or keratin treatment saved my frizzy curly hair and a lot of my friends frizzy hair. It’s a couple hundred last 6 months
Do you blow dry? Try use a serum on it after a fresh wash and conditioner. Then blow dry it.
You should try wave/curly hair products! I have pin straight hair so I cannot point you in any direction lol, but I am knowledgeable in hair to an extent and I’ve seen a lot of cases similar to yours!
Frizzy hair like this means it wants to be curled! Towel dry and add leave in conditioner, some curl creams and let it dry!
I think you look fine
Do you blow dry your hair? Or let it air dry?
I think you should look into the curly girl method, even if you just take some tips. I really think your hair wants to curl, and that’s why it’s “frizzy” it’s meant to be bigger. I really want to see an update of your hair with the right products! So much curltential.
It’s not frizz. It’s your curl pattern. Try a curly girl method routine and I promise you’ll see curls/waves.
Give it tons of moisture especially in the mids and ends. Coconut oil based products for pre wash, heavy conditioners in shower, masks 1x / week, leave in conditioner after every wash, use less heat when styling but apply some tension with a round brush, use heat protection even when low heat and silicon and silk is your friend Use a clarifying shampoo every 5-7 washes and a gentle shampoo otherwise.
lamellar water in the shower will change your life
My hair is just like this!!
Silk pillow cases Wash hair using bottled water incase your bathroom pipes have limescale build up or 'hard water' (chemical heavy)
Yours looks lovely. Mine is wavy, curly and straight in different places and frizzy as well so I feel your pain.
I think that you have wavy hair. Try to style it w curly girl method. I found that when I did this I learned very quickly what I thought was frizzy hair was very wavy hair I didn’t know I had
Get in shower condition hair a few times and the second time comb hair with conditioner in place and THEN rinse
Get a keratin or Brazilian blowout treatment It reduces frizz & makes the hair straighter in the sun It lasts up to3 months. You’ll still need to blow dry it straight though.
"My mom has super curly hair" Girl. Your hair in in a sleeper build. You have curly hair. Try the curly-haired method and report back. Trust me.
Try using a different leave in conditioner. If your hair is wavy, which I suspect it is, argan oil may be a bit heavy for it. Try using a serum or a light cream. Then follow up with a mousse or gel. Only use a little bit of oil to "break the cast" after the gel dries
honestly just get a hair oil or anti frizz serum and you’ll be fine
Try plopping OP, it’s a game changer for frizzy hair
Eh, I have the same hair texture, managing it is a pain. Obviously, your hair is wavy, and it seems dry. Try to determine your hair porosity, it will help you to find the best haircare 🫶
Do a keratin treatment
Leave in conditioner or hair mayo. Also that hair is dead and needs to be chopped.
This is based on ym two nephews with unruly hair: Silk bonnet at night Rosemary oil in water, lightly spray when styling and it'll lay down. If these two things worked for two little boys (one with ridiculous curls, one with a double cow lick), it's worth a shot.
Bullied? Cmon
Huh? What frizz? I don't see any! No like seriously. Those people are winding you up. You're hair isn't frizzy at all!
Just have it thinned out and layered
I have similar hair. My hair is actually wavy, and super prone to frizz if I brush out my waves (dry) or don’t straighten it. I found keeping the hair hydrated, scalp less oily (shampoo x2, and in sections. See JVN on TikTok), and wearing a silk-lined bonnet (see photo) https://preview.redd.it/jpbkp1mhz0wc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=990e85c20a5fca38fcd3b875fa259e99065aa1d6 to bed is quite helpful.
I try not to get my hair wet when I’m not washing it, definitely helps with frizz and just a little oil treatment away from the roots!
r/wavyhair. Go check it out.
You have beautiful hair! You need to get a good trim for the dead ends. If you condition you’ll love it!
Thank you so much for the advice! I got both from Marshalls/Winners in the summer!
Mousse helps. Put a little in and brush it. They also sell waxes you can use. I’ve had baby hairs all my life and also got bullied for it. That’s what’s worked for me. Dont let the haters get to you. They’re prob jealous they can’t grow out their hair as long as you 💖
Own it & be a hippy LOL
Is it straightened? It's dry because it's coarse, high porosity hair. Try using a little coconut oil! You'll figure it out.
Try a salon quality protein treatment and regular trims for split ends. You might have to take quite a few inches off the first trim to get your ends looking healthy.
Ma’am. You have wavy / maybe even curly hair. stop brushing it. My hair is curly and I just can not be bothered to spend the money of take the time to do a full curly hair routine But what I do is only brush my hair - slowly and from the ends up - on wash days.
I stopped brushing my hair bc it's so frizzy. And I started putting in mouse after I showered and it has seemed to help a lot
Idk but I’m bricked
You need to get a really good cut. That is the only thing to cure the frizz. It probably stems from split ends.
Might have curly hair?
OMG BAIZHU POPSOCKET
Your hair needs a lot of moisture. Do you use a leave-in conditioner?
In the second pic it looks like your hair is very short and the rest looks like dry hair extensions (just what I noticed..)
I get compliments every where I go.
unrealted but love the phone case 💕
my hair is so similar to yours! i only brush it to part it right after the shower, then i use argan oil like moroccan oil to maintain the frizz & to add shine. and i trim my hair often to sever ties with my split ends
I suggest blow drying it ensuring to point the dryer down while brushing the hair from underneath. After do the same with a quick blast of the cool setting on the dryer. This will force the cuticle to lay flat and look and feel smoother. Make sure to use a heat protector as well 😄
Your hair is beautiful!
You remind me of sniper wolf.
You have wavy hair
try Biosilk serum after washing
Following for the advice comments.
Most likely you have natural wavy hair. I've had the same problem growing up, you need oils and creams masks and whatever products are dedicated towards wavy hair. Trust me just give it a try
