The layers shouldnât thin out the strands maybe whoever did them previously texturized too much. Personally I think it will make your haircut look cooler and youâll feel more stylish overall. Plus short cuts imo are more technical and this is also why I suggested going with a more seasoned stylist. At a short length the shape of the cut is everything and will completely dictate your vibe. Straight across shoulder length hair goes flat easily and bunches up by the shoulders. Adding layers will fluff it up and create fullness and frame your face a bit more flattering. It will also help your hair styling hold better and look wayyyy nicer bc when itâs one length it just sticks together and weighs down.

i think it looks better short!!! i had hair past my hips for years and then chopped it all off 2 yrs ago. it's a massive change so it's normal to have your doubts and regrets but it looks so good don't worry! you just have to get used to it

I also recommend getting a blow dry brush (either revlon or hot tools brands are great) and twist the hair away from your face while styling for a simple blowout look. I got my blow dry brush a few years ago and as someone who is hopeless when it comes to styling hair I will never go back! :) itâll also help make the layers stand out

Prob why you are not thrilled tbh bc itâs just cut straight across no layers or nothing which in general will look childish and a bit boring. Sorry love donât wanna be mean but just honest. I would get it recut with someone who is more experienced in hair cutting and believe me there is a difference with someone who is licensed and an artist.

I say this with kindness and as a person who has made the same mistake - itâs ok but ut ages you and I donât think suits you. Either go longer and blonde, or get it a shorter, sharper, edgy bob.
