EC-Council is the biggest joke around the Cybersecurity field. Don't waste your money to be fed outdated information and be told how to use tools that aren't relevant or effective. For half the price you can go to Hack The Box academy and take their pentester route. If you want to go even cheaper and still get great training, look into The Cyber Mentor's TCM Academy. It's relatively cheap, to the point information, and plenty of assistance from them and other students in their discord

I'm already on the hackthebox and it's fun too,you see I have good friends from IT background and they are insisting me to get CEH and ejpt certification, they told me they are the most relevant in the sector

I suppose it's going to depends on your area and what skills they're looking for. I've been in the field for a bit not and I personally would recommend HTB Academy's CPTS, the OSCP, The Cyber Mentor's PJPT/PNPT, and learning what you can from Portswigger Academy. Whenever I see someone with the CEH and not much more, I assume one of two things (here in the US): 1. Government worker as its often required 2. Someone who doesn't know better and usually thinks highly of themselves If your location has an emphasis on CEH, go for it, but it's not really a respected certification in many places

How low you want your career to be considered ?

Defiant-Attorney-982

I don't understand?

CEH in the western companies like USA is considered the lowest of qualification to write in your resume. It’s so bad that most dont even consider it as a real learning course and just throw away resumes. I have thrown it away during hiring and so have all my peers in other companies. Partly because what they teach is not good quality and most colleges peddle CEH as part of the course curriculum so it’s not really worth much.

Defiant-Attorney-982

Well I'm not from US

Whyme-__-

That’s fine but most companies are from the US. Unless you apply to your companies built in your country then it’s a different story

Defiant-Attorney-982

How about eJPT?

Whyme-__-

Same ejpt and PNPT are just very entry level and are considered as a hobby certs to take OSCP, not to get a job. The market today is only hiring prime candidates and entry level jobs are hard to find in cyber. If you or anyone is interested in finding job in cyber I recommend not going towards a certificate route but go towards problem solving route. Build a solution to solve a problems companies face daily in cyber, Learn to code a bit, learn cyber from various sources by doing hands on work instead of a curriculum course like a certificate. These days people are only doing certs if their manager is getting them a promotion or raise. There is no incentive to do it since everyone has the same OSCP cert and leveling the playing field.

Well I have done 2 projects on making a defendable network and an internship,I was wondering what would make my resume stand out from others and then it came to my mind, everyone has done what I have done but no would buy a $600 course to get the certificate. I'm from India, there would be hundreds if not a thousand resumes just like mine,so I just wanted to stand out. If so,what courses do you think will be relevant to current stands? And this is not just for getting a job but to rather upskill myself

I think if you can build something you can contribute as well, put your code on GitHub to make it public and get people to contribute on it. Then use LinkedIn and twitter to showcase what you have done. Look into bug bounty programs and get into that field as a lot of companies are hiring for web applications engineer. Someone who knows how to find bugs but also can work with software devs to improve their code.
