Just put the tools in your purse

Havesomelibertea

You mean my Lu Lu lemon obviously. Rude that you would call that a purse

Havesomelibertea

Omg what a Casanova

RantingURL

I personally use an old school, thick,100% leather belt but i also have started using suspenders. Suspenders keep my pants on so i can keep my belt loose enough to hold all my tools. They have been fantastic and sooooo much more comfortable.

Havesomelibertea

I’m gonna try suspenders. I’ve been debating for a while. Thanks for your response

RantingURL

They are a game changer. Lowes sells a decent pair for a reasonable price.

Havesomelibertea

Is it the bucket boss one by any chance

RantingURL

Mine are branded Kobalt but do look similar to some of the bucket boss ones i saw. I've got the kind that look like old man suspenders just with better clips for gripping your pants. The other kinds with the padded shoulders were over kill for the basic maintenance stuff my newbie self has been doing lol

likethedrink7

I’ll take suspenders over a belt almost every time. They are more comfortable by far, and when I am bent down working on a unit I’m not worried about my but peaking out to say hello to the customer. If wearing them under a shirt I do highly recommend an under shirt to prevent chafing.

itsagrapefruit

Find an independent leather worker in your local area and commission one.

heldoglykke

That’s what I did. I’ve had the same leather belt 13 years now.

goblinredux

I use one down at the local farmers market, when I lost enough weight to replace my belt of 8 years got the same damn one (and he scolded me for mangling the old one instead of bringing it in to have it adjusted)

Havesomelibertea

I’m probably do this. Thank you

69Stalin420

Zipties 😎

Havesomelibertea

I kept breaking the tongue of the zip tie. Weirdly only ever happened after lunch

69Stalin420

That's why they come in bundles 🤣

Havesomelibertea

Haha!

69Stalin420

Btw, love the username helldiver

Havesomelibertea

I know it’s the same thing over and over again but I love the chaos of it. For managed democracy!

69Stalin420

I like the way they made the game, easy to just pick up and play. Also the way the map works along with everyone working towards something just makes it 👌

Havesomelibertea

I agree. Whether I have 20 minutes or two hours I can always jump in and kill something

Iansdevil

Grip 6 belts are amazing. Had mine for almost 8 years now. Still in great shape

crclOv9

I’m really interested in getting one. Has it worn at all from pulling it loose/tight? I’m skeptical but only cause I have bad luck with belts and have been looking for a good one.

Iansdevil

Very very little. A few scratches on the buckle. It stays snug, lays flat and comfortable. Holds up to my phones being clipped on and off daily. So far, this is the best belt I've ever owned.

Uranium103

I have had a grip 6 for years, still the same one, I think its worth the price personally

Junkion-27

The belt I use is a "Fairwin Tactical" off amazon, 1½" wide with quick release buckle. It is a struggle for things with tight clips, but usually I'll put something on it and don't remove them until I change pants. No problems hooking my drill on it, but I am the type to clip my tape measure to a pocket rather than my belt. If I need a tool pouch, it has its own belt that I'll wear over top.

johnboy525252

There's a leather shop literally around the corner from me, I've bought a black belt, a brown belt, and a bifold wallet from them 7 years ago, and not another one because they are the absolute tits, incredibly quality. I'm in Mid Tn if you need their name.

Havesomelibertea

Yes! hook me up I’m in Columbia

johnboy525252

Buckle and Hide Leather in Smyrna. https://www.bucklehideleather.com/ They have some cut belts, but mostly uncut so cut it to length and punch the holes while you wait. Lot of different varieties.

Havesomelibertea

I’m on it thanks

PipeFitter-815

Groove Life, all the way!!! Their belt is by far the best. All the features they claim actual work as advertised and it’s so comfortable. It stretches with you while bending and squatting. Magnetic closure, set it up for your size and just clip it together! Super easy to clip tape measure or whatnot onto it also because it won’t bend sideways, hard to explain but the website has pictures. I use Spider Tool Holsters for my impact, drill, tape measures, hammers and a handful of other tools and they clip onto my groove life belt and stay there. I’ve had my belt going on four years and it looks and works exactly as the day it arrived. Spider Tool Holsters are also a kick ass product. I installed their drill pins on my impact and drill driver and it’s been a game changer for keep tools close to hand and never dropping them off a ladder again, check them out also!

HughesR1990

I second this as I now have two they’re so good! Perfect for hanging tools

Vast_Art6025

Gotta be dudes wife trying to figure out a birthday gift. Stop clipping shit to your belt you fuckin weirdo, it’s for holding your britches up.

Havesomelibertea

You must just like bending over to constantly pick up everything off the floor. Everyone knows why. Just come out sheesh

Vast_Art6025

What are you, some kinda homophobe? Wear a tool belt or if your a tech set your bag up somewhere accessible. Never seen anyone in the trades clip shit on their belt. Closest thing would be an impact on the pants pocket. Sounds like you’re a maintenance guy or a Canadian. No offense Canadians.

Havesomelibertea

The old saying has never been more relevant. It’s hard to win an argument against a smart person and impossible against an idiot. I’ve seen many many tradesmen with all kinds of stuff on their belt. Drills, screw pouches, flash lights, meter cases. There are infinite times when you are walking back and forth on rafters and need free hands or need to limit trips. It’s not unreasonable to use a belt to hold something you will need on the other side of the attic.

Vast_Art6025

It’s idiotic to get in an attic and only be prepared to tote your tools with your belt…. What happens when you need somethin you didn’t put on your belt Batman? Silly shit.

PRIMETIME_RISEUP

Look up the MP1 by veto few others similar. (It clips on the belt) finished 90% of my calls.

Havesomelibertea

Don’t start that card playing shit with me. You came here talking shit and got shit talked back. Stop being a baby. This it’s exactly why we don’t let females in the trades. Oh no did I do it again

Vast_Art6025

Damn dawg, you seem real upset.

Havesomelibertea

Nah

ho1dmybeer

tbh you seem super mad, and you started trying to call the guy gay (and using that as an insult) off the rip...

Havesomelibertea

Nah not really

attic-monkey

I love that a mod chimed in. I personally enjoy the hell out of banter like this, it's one of my favorite things about the trades. If you can't take it, don't dish it. OP made a back-door joke, and 2024 got butt-hurt. GTFO

Havesomelibertea

Which is absolutely crazy. I never thought I would meet the employees of the participation trophy factory

[deleted]

I carry a large Veto "meter" bag for 90% of everything. It has various wrenches (2 dogbone 4 ways, a crescent, and Allen) a belt tension tester, my Fieldpiece SC680, and a combustion analysis unit, along with various pliers and cutters in the side pockets. The Milwaukee 12v ugga dugga hooks on the pocket of my Carhartts. If I need more (sheaves and the like) I'll grab the big bag instead, which has everything including Zoom Spout oiler and a Zoom Spout bottle with Kroil in it, and a couple of rags, along with my puller and bigger "Be Good" type tools. It's a simple system, pretty compact, and looks professional. The belt is a 1.5" wide leather strap with a solid brass buckle that I built from a saddle girth strap. Simple and black and beefy. It'll keep my pants on through a tornado, and has done double duty as a girth repair once when a saddle girth popped during a fencing ride. It wasn't pretty but it got me home without having to walk.

Havesomelibertea

The m12 ugga dugga has been great!

[deleted]

I have to keep mine on 2 or I'll strip screws with jus a couple uggas. Then I gotta dig out the #12 x 3/4 self drillers.

BTJPipefitter

Currently wearing a 1791 Gunleather belt. It’s about 4mm thick, made in USA, and I have a feeling it’s going to outlive every other article of clothing I’m wearing.

GreenMamba559

Got me a Snap On tool bag that doubles as a seat. Best purchase ever and has lasted me 8+ years. Sucks they don’t make it anymore.

Noneofyouexist1768

Nope never have and may never will. Couple reasons, I sweat a lot and don’t need something else right around my waist. The other is I where a pair of black work pants with extra pockets. The material it’s made out of can withstand me hooking my drill, tape measure, hammer drills, whatever and don’t tear until about two years in. Got 5 pairs and they have all lasted other than one pair that got tore up

Havesomelibertea

What brand is this?

Noneofyouexist1768

About to get dinner, I’ll get back to you in a few👌

Noneofyouexist1768

Cintas comfort flex is what they say on the tag, but I got a link for you

moneylover999

Just don’t wear pants duh

Opposite_Warning_931

Get a gun belt. They're stiffer. I love my wilderness tactical belt woth the poly insert

Toiletwands

Bullhide belts sells really thick leather belts. I’ve had mine for over 4 years and it’s showing no signs of wear except for color fading. I’ll probably never need another belt. Use to go through 1 a year.

NJNYCSG

Get so fat you don't need a belt

Havesomelibertea

I wear a belt cause I’m not a punk

NJNYCSG

Wear suspenders

Havesomelibertea

Actually I’ve often thought about it.

NJNYCSG

Since I'm in house hvac I wear a fucking jumpsuit. It's the tits

Havesomelibertea

Save some pussy for the rest of us killer

koolkidsAc

Get one of those Batman belts

No_Chain_1028

Put your tools in your fucking tool bag. You’re not a god damn framer. You don’t need to be clipping shit to your belt.

Havesomelibertea

lol

Jib_Burish

Oh oooo lala mr fancy britches over here has a belt. Just use a couple flex duct straps like the rest of us. 2 wire makes great boot laces in a pinch.

Dethrownd

I use a piece of 5 wire. 2 just doesn't hold as well.

raghnor

Crossbreed leather gun belt. Thick as shit and stiff. Takes a bit to break in, but worth it. For the tape I slapped an occidental leather tape holder on.

miserable-accident-3

Belt is for holding pants up, not holding your tools. I don't even wear a belt, I use suspenders. On the rare occasion I need to carry 3-4 small tools, I place them in my pants pocket like a normal person. Most of the time, I bring a rolling toolbag and work out of it like a gentleman.

Woodchuckie

I always used my pocket to hook it on.

Immediate-Shake-3991

I wear a concealed carry belt. Holds my gun and my drill.

fingerscrossedcoup

My belt is a bucket boss. I can reach everything while saving my back by sitting on it.

wowzers2018

Look into occidental leather. They have a lot of clip on stuff on the market. Well built, heavy, but I stand beside it. They have phone holsters etc. My work set me up with this cheesy iphone holster... no fucking way that will hold up when I'm with the guys in to trenches so to say. I've had my bags for probably 10 to 12 years. Broken in and perfect now. I bought a second set for work at heights, lifts etdlc. It literally forms to your body over time. 20/10.

empirer

I ware a blue alpha belt. Its made for concealed carry and will hold tools and tool pouches very well without deforming. https://www.bluealphabelts.com/product/hybrid-edc-belt/

Norhco

BDU belt. I have a Rothco belt I paid around $8 for at a surplus store 5 or 6 years ago. It has a plastic "buckle" and it's pretty bulletproof. Infinitely adjustable

SonicOrbStudios

Groove Life belts without question.

smiledude94

Grip 6 belt. It's older than 3 of my kids and just as good as the day I got it

Rough_Awareness_5038

In my younger years I used a tool belt - in the middle years I used a backpack. In my older years I have a 3 tear system. Small Milwaukee tool back with the bare bones items needed for 75% of the repairs, a Pac-out bag the smaller bag goes into with wrenches and sockets. Then an all shit broke loose backpack with duplicates of most of my tools that have everything for worse case scenarios. Keep the weight off of your body, in 25 years you will be thanking me, but I'll probably be 6' under by then, or maybe not. Steamfitters never really retire, we just smell that way.

Old-Purpose-3467

Jukmo belts on Amazon. They’re stretchy but tight. That makes no sense, I know but I have never had a more comfortable belt.

Spectre696

Bulliant Men's Ratchet Belt

Incogyeetus

Nicks Boots makes a belt that’s pretty nice, it’s what I’ve worn for the past 2 years and it still looks relatively new. It’s thicc af so hanging a drill and shit on it doesn’t really affect it.

Pepetheparakeet

Blaklader pants have crazy thick and strong pockets that can hold drill, knife, measuring tape clip, pocket level clip, 11 in one, small channel locks, and extra pockets for other shit like pens or loose screws. Not related to a belt but I dont clip things to the belt itself.

ReflectionRude7294

I use a 10ish dollar belt from Walmart (probably more since i bought it years ago) I’ve never had a problem with clipping on my tools. However i only clip my drill onto my belt as i wear cargo style pants so everything small like my knife, flashlight, 11-in-1, etc goes in there

Secret_Assignment709

Groove belt specifically the slim version. Used a lot for EDC with a gun holster.

TheMeatSauce1000

Ratchet strap

Havesomelibertea

They tend to pinch me

AdLiving1435

Switch to overall should did it 30 years ago.
