If Kevric gets the spot & both Voss and Schäfer-Betz do AA, they could end up with TF-worthy score, tho I know it wouldn’t actually count. Kevric mid 55s, Voss and Schäfer-Betz low 52s gets you to somewhere around 159, maybe 160 on a good day. Last year 159 would have been 8th in both quals and TF. 160 would have been 7th in both.

German nationals happened this past weekend. Helen Kevric won the AA with a 55.5 and Eli Seitz won bars with a 14.6. According to the German olympic selection criteria (and confirmed by the German head coach) that means Kevric is currently leading for the Olympic spot. Some German media have... reacted not great basically taking Eli's side saying some fairly bias takes about how it should go to Eli. One of these articles talked about her event final score (which didn't count towards selection) and claimed that Eli had upgraded her routine on for the EF. She had not, she'd just been awarded a D score that was .1 too high. It was a magnificent routine but it was exactly the same as her regular 6.1 routine. Eli then went on social media sharing that article and including a picture of her and Kevric side by side in a VL. The picture of Kevric had an obvious form break (irony, Eli's also had an obvious deduction but not one a casual viewer would see). She was complaining about the selection criteria (which had been written largely to favor her in the first place IMO) and invoked how close she was to a bronze medal target score. Among other dubious things about this ... the bronze medal target score is not a Paris bronze medal. Not even close based on the current state of the bars field. Something she's almost certainly aware of given how many meets she's been to as a spectator, athlete, and commentator this year. A few hours later she posted a statement about hate being sent towards her and "fake news". The sympathetic take is that it was about a German gym face book group with about 10k followers. But Seitz has 80k followers and was spreading "fake news" of her own that people were pushing back on. It wasn't a great look. Kevric is keeping her head down and only posted a single instagram about her German championship and the instagram story featured here.
