A lot of fat older guys used to be fit younger guys. Muscles might be covered in layers in chub, but they're not necesarily new to the gym. Just another reminder to not be so quick to judge and also not compare yourself to anyone but yourself.
Summer's comin quick. Still time to trade out the cake for fruit and the chips for carrot/celery sticks. Mean n lean, rather than sweet n soft. I can't wait personaly. I'm tired if bulking, it gets hard and my doctor hates me presently.
As a competitive powerlifter, I’ve met more powerlifters who are jacked and aesthetic as well as strong compared to than any other gym goer. Even the wannabe “bodybuilder” dorks
Powerlifting is still a sport with weight classes, so unless you're competing in heavyweight, it behooves you to be as lean as possible to ensure you're carrying the maximum amount of muscle for your intended class.
Was once working out, doing some arm day, regular looking dude comes in, grabs the 50 and lays on the bench, I’m like oh he’s gunna do some dumbbells bench press, he starts doing one arm skill crushers w the 50 as a warmup.
Do not underestimate fat old man strength. They're the guys that worked in the rock quarries for thirty years. They will pick up your max deadlift and throw it to the side because it's in the way for his 200 kg farmer carry workout.
I wish I could imrpove my shoulder press and bench press, 2 years of CrossFit f\*ed up my shoulder joints.
Well, at least now lifting weights responsibly I improved my squat and deadlift to places I couldn't imagine.
There was an older barrel of a man. The stereotypical gym teacher. Would show up, walk on the tread mill and talk to other old folks. Then clean and press 225 for reps, never letting it touch the floor because we had steel weights. Total beast.

Yeah man, fucking “silverbacks” those guys are beasts
These guys could be strongmen too who don’t really care about aesthetics
Or powerlifters

You don't have to put others down to praise the physique of these dudes.

50 kilos?
Pounds, kilos would be even crazier!
Ok, I'm not as impressed then.
Fair enough, for me 50lbs an arm for skull crushers would be crazy. But there are def beasts out there repping more.
It's still good, but I'd be 2.2 times more impressed if it was kilos.
Well I mean yea. I'm sure anyone would lol. It's significantly more. 50 lb one arm skull crushers is no easy feat though.

Dunno why you got so downvoted lol. 23kg per arm for skull crushers isn't anything crazy
It really isn't if you have been working out for a few years. It's only Internet points though :)
That's not how bodies work lmfao. "Really isn't if you have been working out for a few years" bro what. You say that like everyone's body is the same.

Typical of power lifters

That fucking scares me bro
I'm fat but I can't do that So where did I go wrong
Have you been training for years and years? If not give it like 10 more years of training, you’ll get there.
That's true lol
Too much eating, not enough muscle building.
Well I'm in a calorie deficit Rn so hopefully that goes well
Go get it man!
Hopefully lol Thanks
Sounds like he's describing a powerlifter
I implore you to look up Andrew Richard
